I'm gonna play devils advocate and say this -- the anxiety you get from calling a 10/10 dime piece is not going to go away just because you've made a hundred or a thousand cold calls to randoms. What I do when I'm feeling a little nervous during a phone call is to just be fucking honest about it. "Holy shit your voice is too fuckin sexy, my mind's a blank now." Take ownership for your feelings.

I agree with you totally, and no I don't think you were being irrational. I felt some resentment towards my father for his "beta" ways (and to be very honest there are still some residual feelings that I am dealing with), but I appreciate EVERYTHING he has done for my family so so much. To blame him for whatever "inner-game" issues I have now would be a disservice to him, and ultimately myself. Nobody owes us anything. Hopefully OP realises this sooner than later.
