Reminds me of Mark Manson’s “Fuck Yes or No” rule. You want someone who’s totally ecstatic to be with you, fuck you, etc. you fill in the blank. No exceptions.

2 and 5 are big ones for me. 2 is huge because I used to think every move/word I did and said had to be perfect. It’s so much easier when you realize some girls won’t be into you no matter what you do. Just do you, make your move, and if she’s attracted to you (which she’ll figure out pretty quickly), you’ll actually have a pretty large margin of error. Amen. WAY too much advice out there advocates trying super hard under the guise of little tips and tricks. In reality, if you’re doing your own thing, a girl’s going to make up her mind pretty quick how she feels about you. She’s either down to be with a guy like you or she’s not. And if she’s not, there’s nothing you can to do to force it. No sense in playing these games. Life is too short. Good on you for realizing it man.

Agreed man. People who say otherwise are still scared of women. Not that that fear ever 100% goes away, but if a guy is opposed to calling women then he's still rooted in his insecurity and fear.

Thank you guys for the comments so far. It means a lot. This subreddit and my closest friend irl are the only sources that can calm me down when I’m lost in my head over a situation like this. I definitely think the dynamic is skewed here. A lot of the power is in her hands; if something goes right or wrong she automatically gets to decide which direction the relationship is gonna go in. That’s how it’s been with her pretty much since the beginning.

We went out to a restaurant and bar and tbh I wasn’t “on” that night. I volunteered to be designated driver while they drank. I did indeed feel the pressure to make a good impression but instead of doing that, I withdrew and shut down, something I do a lot when meeting new people in a new place. Agreed on the cute being a compliment, obviously. You’re absolutely right man. I think a large problem with the whole PUA community is it makes getting girls/laid the end goal and it’s not. Becoming the ideal person you can be (motivated, self-confident, healthy outlook on life) is the end goal and attracting women comes as a byproduct of that.

That’s the thing, normally with most girls I’m somewhat able to tell where I stand with them after interacting with them a bit. But with this girl no. She literally was impossible to read so I figured the best thing was to take the risk. It paid off though like you said so it’s all good. Yeah probably man 👍

I think that’s a really good point. A person’s behavior when viewed in different contexts can appear very different. And yeah, advice/opinions aren’t usually relevant especially since a lot of people are so fickle with their beliefs/stance on things, at least imo. The important part is my experience and perception of myself. Thank you man.

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking might be the best thing to do: to just feel the situation out and see how it goes. It also could depend on her mood/how busy she is during any given day so perhaps I have to respond accordingly depending on the situation. Thank you for the response.
