Thanks for the advice. It’s giving me good things to focus on.

Soooo. I took absolutely nothing when I left. I felt that would be taking from the kids so I started over. I gave her the house. Bought a new one and slowly bought furniture etc.

Thanks for the encouraging words friends. I do think I need to rip the band aid off.

Yes I have a will and it all goes to my ex and kids. We were together for 26 years and I will take care of her. My gf will have an insurance policy in case of my passing (I am getting older) I will have money for her to pay off her house etc.

I think she would be fine with that. It has been amicable and no friction but when lawyers get involved things can change.

When my marriage was over there has been zero smashing or dating. It’s very business like and we remain friends but as far as getting back together I wouldn’t go back. I will always love her but I am not in love with her. Personality wise we were polar opposite’s but it worked and it was like opposites attract. We brought out the best in each other. But sadly the last 5 to 6 years of the marriage we grew apart. She’s an amazing person and I only want the best for her.

Yeah. It’s concerning for me. It’s all working and I feel like why rock the boat. I have a feeling it will get ugly as that is what lawyers want. The bloodier it is the more money they make. We get along and the kids are fine but I truly feel there can/will be a huge fight for assets etc. if either of us push this. I feel like she also doesn’t want a fight (ps. She is mom of year type of woman. Not a bitch in any way, shape or form).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
