Yeah, this rift is going to get wider. Some minor and aging starlet--can't remember her name-- was also in the news lately for saying gays just want to wear orange speedos and take molly and are useless as feminist allies. White feminists want everyone to get behind some new push for income equality and free tampons and they are getting pissed off that no ones snapping to their orders.

My opinion of her just went into the toilet. She's also been trash talking Courtney Love (easy target) and Billy Corgan, saying he's 'disgusting' and no one wants to get with him because he's whiny. And, she's been publicly calling her ex 'pathetic'. I imagine she was never a very nice person, is now just bitter over being pushed out of the limelight, and feminism is a cover for saying mean things about others to make herself feel better. Very sad.

You're not working alone. Maybe you just feel alone because you make your contributions over the internet, so a sense of camaraderie is missing. Maybe take some time away from men's rights issues for a while if blowing off steam didn't help. Or actively look for the bright side in stories you keep up on.

It's a business; they need to make money. If I opened a bar I'd do whatever I needed to do to compete, too. Wet t-shirt, mud wrestling-- whatever the latest craze was. Women want free drinks, guys usually want younger women. Why argue with what the customers want?

I don't know why you expected a backlash. Social construction of gender is an inherently feminist idea. If you had said that boys are naturally more rambunctious and competitive due to inherited factors (so schools should accomodate or encourage and not squelch those qualities) then you would have had an argument on your hands. If you believe that gender norms or trends are only social constructs and are inherently oppressive, then you are basically a feminist, or rather, are at least friendly t…

I think that issue is a problem for feminists to fix, if they care to, The fact is, feminists have been, more and more, placed in the position of having to defend feminism and explain what it's all about. You can say it's because some of the louder voices are more extreme, but that's really only a problem for feminists. Face it: If feminists have to keep hammering at the dictionary definition because everyone else has gotten quite a different idea, then there is a problem. The writings of Amanda…

I have to believe that you believe this, which is just really sad because it reflects a very paranoid view and phobic view. I don't believe women deserve to be raped and I have never met any man that believes this, or, I should say, I've never met a man that has stated as such out loud. Odds are, I've met some fucked up guy that kept a pro-rape view to himself. Do I think every person should keep on their toes and avoid being a victim of crime whenever possible? Yes. Maybe that's the viewpoint y…

Maybe you could explain why I read much more about "toxic masculinity" from feminists more than "toxic femininity"? Actually, I've never previously heard feminists complain about toxic femininity. Ever. I had to go search it out. If you google search those phrases, you'll find 18,000 "toxic masculinity" results, but only 3,000 "toxic femininity" results, and most of the toxic feminity results reflect the recent "hey, what about toxic feminity" argument. It's something feminists are addressing no…

She may be speaking from her personal experience, but she failed to reach logical conclusions based on her experience. Derkajihad was not "dictating" her personal history; he was simply denying that her history was the same as what the poster portrayed. If she wants to engage in discussion, she should try looking for her viewpoints to be challenged, not validated. Why is it anyone's job to validate someone at every step? I expect someone's going to disagree with me, yet I would be embarrassed to…

I had a male friend post a similar article to Facebook, but the article took the further step of blaming "male entitlement" for all the mass shootings. My response, which I posted, was that the mass shootings had absolutely nothing to do with the men I know who I'm proud to call my friends and family. In your case, this is more of a private matter between you and her, so there is no need to prove your viewpoint. You might just say that it's disappointing or sad that that's her view of men and th…

It's like saying Charles Manson is an example of how liberal anti-populist beliefs lead to brutal killings.

The original The Thomas Crown Affair with Steve McQueen. It's great. Avoid the horrible remake with Pierce Brosnan. That one has Rene Russo playing that same bitchy know-it-all, immasculating female character that's everywhere now. Romancing the Stone, sort of. It's all about what the woman wants for her dream lover, but what she wants is the kind of man she writes about in romance novels--someone that is strong, assertive, who makes his own path, who will ravage her in the muddy jungle. The onl…

I would let that slide but I would laugh it off or make a joke. "Lol. I guess it must be national man hating day!" Or, "Ha ha! Man-hating jokes like this are always cuter when someone makes it look like it's a little kid telling the joke!"

If it's someone you don't need to interact with or enjoy being around, just stop interacting. This might be a coworker. If you do have to interact, make interactions professional and all-business. For women you have to interact with, just draw attention to the fact they are being bitchy, but in a jokey way so they don't get the pleasure of thinking they bothered you. I'd try something like, "Oh, sarcasm there. Gotcha!" Give a little chuckle and proceed to carry on with whatever you had been sayi…

What I would do is document anything said during a class where it creates an inhospitable and intimidating environment. It helps if you have a friend that can be witness. You might be able to take that documentation and file a complaint. If you go down that path you should talk with someone who actually knows the legality of this stuff. My dream is that one day gender studies classes will open universities to lawsuits since they are fomenting an environment that is openly hostile to SWMs.

made a not about this above...patriarchy itself is the devil, or sinfulness

I can't claim this idea since I read it a few days ago on r/askwomen, but another similarity to religion is that the person being stomped down, like the accused witch, cannot claim any unfairness because the clever fanatic will say that it's the sin that's being stomped out, or the devil. This removes the face of human suffering under the fantatic. Likewise, from the feminist view, it's never women that cause suffering for men, it's the patriarchy. Patriarchy is an invisible, unproved entity, ju…

www.dailymail.co.uk This is her 6 years ago. Wasn't looking too good then...But seeing her here with her girlfriends... it's all very sweet and you can see she is quite innocent with her longing for a traditional femininity... surely has nothing to do with going out and not being noticed anymore...

The study was done by a matchmaking service, "Elite Singles". It's not really a scientific study. 70% of the respondensts were female, and their average age is 48. I can't find a link to the actual study, this just takes you to their website: EliteSingles

I'm thinking back to when she got her princess party indoctrinations as a little girl-- she's not a red head, so not Ariel. Blond--must have been a Rapunzel.

The subreddit is for guys in regards to women, so this seems off topic. Also, straight guys are not going to discuss publicly any bi tendencies they might have. Maybe you were hoping to get a rise? If so, it looks like people are just neutral to what you are saying, and not going ballistic. If not, you're wacky to think that straight guys will go, "Oh, yeah, guys! We never thought of that! Let's just go bi." Are you serious? That's whack. edit to add: Straight guys should not go bi just because …

I'm curious about the details of her story. You don't get a chipped tooth from an assault without your whole mouth swelling up, too, right? It looks like she fell down on the pavement. Of course, getting pushed to the pavement could have part of the assault, so I would hate to come to a conclusion. What is suspicious is the clamoring for attention after an assault. If that happened to most people they'd be too shaken to think about selfies and making points.

Exactly. But, as senorpuff said, some women are excellent cooks. They're usually the ones that watch you when you're eating and really want to know if it tastes good, instead of telling you about why it's good because of the soymilk.

This is one thing that has ruined facebook. It's almost always a woman that posts some drama about something they're pissed off about, giving little hints so that everyone knows who it is that she's pissed off at. It's passive aggressive bullying since the person being slandered can't really defend themselves. Isn't this junior high stuff?

Gay guy here. I cook, but I also recognize that when guys, of whatever persuasion, decide to cook, they do a lot better than the average female. This is because not everybody can cook well, so most women are just average, of course. But, many guys seem determined that when they make food it better taste fucking good. Women--not all--are often interested more in what is trendy or "lite" on calories. For example, they might fuck up the tried and true candied sweet potatoes at the holidays by mashi…

Yeah, but it's a sign of the very last (and absurd) stages of decadence in a failing empire near collapse. Real communities comprised of people having to work together to survive can't afford some stupid ideology that pits one set of the population against another. As the economy and social support systems further crumble in this country and people who were once middle class face true hardship, the new feminism will quickly become a dim memory.
