Bullshit advice. This is how to end up with bad relationship with your kid when he grows up.

My advice dude, try to get along with him. Fuck this discipline bullshit. Having good relationship with your child is much more important than being technically justified. Even if it means giving in spoiling etc. when your kid grows up none of that discipline and minor little no tv or whatever the fuck will matter but your relationship or lack of it will

Random chance mostly

This is the way. Almost no benefits and all kinds of problems down the road.

Sorry man. This sounds crazy. I’m glad you got the kid and you are absolutely right - almost everything else is fixable.

This is what the entire sub is complaining about. And justifiably so. Kind of wild to see this suggested here.

Alimony must disappear as a concept. Also spending money on lawyers is crazy.

You are 24 you have many lives ahead of you. Ppl get divorced at 50-60 and older and move on.

That’s a gross generalization. Are you saying lust goes away after 12 months?

I’m not going to speak for the judge but as far as it being unusual for kids to cosleep in stressful times I disagree. No reason to shame the guy.

US here. It’s not weird, many kids co-sleep with parents. Ex is psychotic.

If someone is treating you this way maybe it’s best not to stay with them?

She makes 4x your wage, you settled into a dead bedroom and you are waiting for her to take lead on divorce?

Not sure about the almost always part but yea why not be prepared.

She would politely divorce and politely take half his shit 😂🤷‍♂️

That raises some questions about the merits of marriage.

Being prepared is always good.

Fully agree about external support sources. By relying more on yourself I meant relying less on your spouse :) This does not excuse her conduct though. threatening divorce or resorting to insults is not very sane.

People say crazy shit when they are angry or have some mental or hormone issues. Does not make it normal or even acceptable but that also does not say that they mean it. This can go either way but imho so far the only conclusion is to rely more on yourself and be prepared that you may get kicked when you are down.

This is jumping to some very big conclusions with seeing little information.

That is exactly what this type of very generic advice assumes - “leading” an infantile (all feelings no common sense or responsibility). And the moment shit goes bad for you and you crumble a bit - expect her to kick you while you are down because “they are all like that”. So you better never lower your guard or stop “the dog and pony show” Not very attractive, and not at all sustainable. One of the worse “red pill” advices.

I heard a saying once that a wife does not need another baby at home - meaning husband should not be one. This same logic applies to her as well. Making someone infantile is not attractive. There is more though. This “red pill” logic solely rests on husband’s consistent ability to put on a dog and pony show in his own home. Not only this is not very reasonable but it’s completely unsustainable as in the case of this thread. Edit: just to be clear I’m not saying he should or should not get divorc…

There is a big issue with this logic. Once you start setting boundaries and realizing you can’t depend on someone - the attraction and desire for that person also goes away. You start to lose interest.

I meant in a bigger sense of the word. Like counting on someone to not make things worse when you are down.

Divorce or not but yea it’s a sad realization you can only count on yourself.

Marriage is also business disguised by culture as love. And only few things kill love faster than business.

Sure but at a distance :)

Maybe it’s not worth salvaging “semi normal” relationship? For what? At this point I think it’s beyond clear that marriage is an outdated concept that has nothing to do with “romance” and intimate relations and everything to do with “business” arrangements. And if you think deeper cohabitation is also for the most part unnecessary and prone to make bad issues even worse. Time to rethink the entire premise of what a relationship is maybe? ;)

Just because something is “common” it doesn’t make it normal. There is a very simple question to clarify lots of confusion - “what do you want from a relationship?” And I think that most men would rank respectful loving spouse that wants to be physically intimate very high on that list. Maybe just maybe even at the very top of the list.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
