The only reason the divorce rape was bad is because it was avoided chaos. Had the chaos been confronted and converted into order, it would have been a positive experience.

His motivation for doing all that was not what it sounds like if you haven't read the book. It was basically part of an elaborate plot to seem the dim-witted playboy while actually deconstructing high society from the inside.

and not in the way of my health. Don't just add that at the end with no support for it. Let's say foreskins give you cancer. You can still procreate before you die. The tiny portion of the population that dies before being able to procreate could easily be offset by something as simple as female preference for foreskins. Evolution doesn't make decisions to get rid of things that are issues. It's much more aimless.

That's not how evolution works.

No, I can't. That was my point. Freedom is a relatively new phenomenon in society historically speaking and a pure laissez faire society is something that has yet to evolve. Anyone saying they've failed over and over doesn't know what they are talking about.

Which pure laissez faire society has failed in the past?

This is not hypocritical. The other guy is not the one cheating on you, she is. Your logic is a good reason to not cheat on your own gf, because you wouldn't want to be cheated on. I wouldn't be angry with a guy for fucking my gf, or if I was I'm just being emotional. She would be the only one who is really at fault because she is the one who had established an agreement to be faithful. That other guy isn't breaking any trust with me because there was no trust established. For the same reason, I…

She wouldn't have said she finds him physically attractive if she didn't. She might have used the word cute, but girls don't say you're physically attractive if they don't feel that way.

My definition is the dictionary definition. The person I was responding to was saying his was the textbook definition of the word and that was the basis of his argument. I wasn't commenting on how the word is generally used colloquially.

I wasn't really commenting on whether a patriarchy can be egalitarian or not. I was just correcting his definition because his wrong definition was the basis of his argument and he was being kind of douchey about how "right" he was.

I was responding to him after he said "textbook definition" which would be the definition you'd find in a dictionary.

Deal with what? The fact that what you quoted, including the sentence you bolded, backs up what I said? I'm finding it pretty easy to deal with. Before responding, read what I said originally again and make sure you understand it.

My source was my history professor, but I can't find anything on the internet to back it up. I guess you can't believe everything they teach you in school.

A Patriarchy is a system that benefits men over women, often at the expense of women. That's the textbook definition, that's the logical definition, that's the actual definition. Do you agree? ...no. I don't agree because that's not correct. A Patriarchy is a system that is run by men, regardless of whom it benefits.

Those are the uninformed though. Are you saying that I can show that page to even a knowledgable feminist and they won't have an answer?

They must have some answer to this. It can't be that easy. What is their standard response to these arguments and how do you respond to them?

My personal equivalent of "WWJD?" is "what would I do if I were rolling?" I am the person I want to be when I'm rolling. It's good to at least know the state of mind I'm trying to reach naturally, but I don't like to do it too much in case I become dependent.

How many brothers do you have? Are you the youngest? Oh you are? You probably got away with a lot more than they did growing up, huh? What were some things you would do to annoy them? ....

You're just not noticing. Most of my black friends are very high energy. When they approach a girl, they do it in a way that makes people in the general vicinity notice. When I do it, I don't want people hearing/seeing me in the process, so as a bystander you probably wouldn't even realize I don't already know her.

It seems weird because you're not used to doing it. Just make a joke and see if they're receptive. If you hear a conversation going on about a topic you're familiar with, throw in your two cents. If they seem like they think you should mind your own business, move on. People will welcome you into the conversation more than you'd think.

For one, he's not saying he's going to throw a hissy fit and act like it's a burden. He's just going to say no, because your boundaries are not congruent with his and life is too short. As far as you just saying no, that's exactly what you should do. He's not spelling out how to pick up every girl in the world. He's saying be assertive about what you want. Women that don't mind abnormally strict boundaries will be willing to deal with it.

He's not "calling the shots" by manipulating them. He's calling the shots by not allowing them to manipulate them. Being up front with what you want and what they have to do in order to be involved with you is simply giving them more information to make an informed decision. If they agree to the terms, they are also calling the shots for themselves because they knew exactly what they were agreeing to. Sometimes I really want to get laid, or I like somebody enough to conform to their schedule and…

It's not even close to being as black and white as that. Men are a little more visual in nature, but women get turned on by looks too. Your analogy is way off. The differences are not that extreme.

It only makes it less palatable if someone were to think it through like you did. It makes it more palatable to most Americans.

Try just saying, "Excuse me", which will stop most people if you're saying it directly to them and it's obvious. Then give her a compliment and make it clear you're letting her be on her way. I'll say sometimes "I just wanted to tell you I think you look really nice. Anyway, have a good day", and end it. When they realize you're not trying to get anything from them, they'll usually respond very positively. It can potentially make your day.

Hmmm, I wouldn't go with asking for the time. It may work, but when you try to transition into the next step, they'll realize you used asking for the time as a line basically. Stopping someone when they're just walking by you is one of the more difficult situations, as it's harder to make them feel comfortable. I think the more direct about your intentions the better.

Put yourself in her shoes. I know when people randomly say hi while I'm walking by, I pretend I don't hear them until they get more insistent. They're usually asking for money or something. Try to put yourself in her shoes and think of how you'd like to be approached by someone that will make you the most comfortable. "Excuse me" is much better than "hi" IMO.
