So with infinite time with things remaining the way they are now, you are right, we are guaranteed dead. However, science changes that chance. It's obvious not to get married (if at all) until you KNOW for sure (or as sure as you can be, then it's not the same risk we're talking about) that you are with someone with whom you will end up in that 25%.
