My assumption is that the State Police have relatively (for police) high standards in terms of education and training. I know that my state requires at least a 4-year degree and multiple years of service before accepting new troopers. Is it a private or public school? Most public school teachers have a right to due process (hearing, appeal, etc.) before being terminated or disciplined. Private school teachers usually do not, and school administrators will get rid of anyone who might create any suspicion of impropriety among the people who pay them (mostly parents).

if it wasn't a cop, the crime would have happened. But how can you know that? Until an actual crime occurs, or the attempt at an actual crime occurs (i.e., actually soliciting a minor), where is the actual crime. Presumed future crime is not evidence of an actual crime. I see your point. I guess my issue is that, even in the cases of murder-for-hire, the case against the suspect is wholly dpendent upon the assumption that the interaction between the suspect and the fake service-provider would have gone the exact same way, assuming that the suspect were able to find a legitimate criminal (or minor, in the cases I'm talking about) to respond to their solicitation. That seems a huge stretch to me. Maybe not.

It seems incredibly unjust that the child support system lets rich kids stay rich and poor kids stay poor. I always assumed that there was some standard measure of how much it costs to raise a child based on some objective measure of costs of food, clothing, shelter, etc. and this was the basis for how much a child support payment must be. Now I guess I learned that child support is based on the income of the parent. That's sad and unfair to everyone.
