Yeah I guess that's true, but it's like, you have a lid and you can minimize the gross shit getting everywhere, so why not do it? (Also it keeps the dogs out of there. Unless you have smart dogs that discover how to open them. Lol)

If you think about it, leaving the lid up is just gross. You're spraying your aerosolized shit and piss all over the bathroom AND yourself/your clothes every time you flush. I know the lid doesn't block everything, but it's definitely better than nothing.
