Personally I believe if you're vetting for specific human behaviour, you need to look for examples in the past. Paradigm shifting is exceptionally taxing on the human mind. It's easier to downshift (aka do less) than it is to ramp up. Behavioural experience in displaying desired characteristics would be a key factor.

I guess I can equate my polygmist love for two men (consensual & committed) as like being able to care for friends. You can care for many friends, on a similar level, at the same time. My loves don't synchronise its not a linear scale but more like waves that ebb and flow.
