Yeah it could have be avoided if the media and activists didn’t push a false agenda about claims of police brutality and racism. The officer was struck in the face. It's likely she would have continued to strike him. He used one punch to stop the assault. It was effective and he didn't hit her again. Using a strike to the face to stop someone who is hitting you in the face is perfectly reasonable. If you are going to hit someone, you hit them with your hardest punch. You don't pull punches.
