Then you haven’t really checked. That’s part of your coddling.

Incorrect. Men are not allowed to fail. They need to always be in service - providing money, security, just… providing. If they don’t, they’re worthless and ignored. To society and to women. Women are privileged in that their life is inherently worth more to society (women and children first, if a man rejects a woman he must be gay, and so on). If women fail, men are expected to provide for them. If women are emotionally and mentally abusive, men are taught to shut up and take it. “Tell her she’…

I didn’t when I was younger, but starting in my late 20s/30s (I’m in my 40s now) I began to have more and more male friends. I think part of that is because of how each group (gay/straight, male/female) generally matures at different rates and ways. And I’d say you’re growing into your male friend phase right now. It’ll happen

You’re very welcome! Personally I feel kinda bad for straight guys because they’re told they have to act certain ways to be masculine. It’s so rigid. Being gay is infinitely liberating because we can be as masculine or as feminine as we like. I love fashion but will be the first to laugh at a fart joke. Fuck the stereotypes of us being girlie all the time (but I’ll definitely be girlie when I want) So I’d say focus less on masculinity itself and try to find your “voice” that quiet inner confiden…

Channel your inner Clark Kent. Imagine yourself embodying his attributes. He’s Superman FFS. He could smoke everyone around him. But Clark Kent doesn’t need to do that. Quiet masculinity is the best kind. Reserved and classic, like a black suit or Clark’s glasses. Before you walk out the door, close your eyes for a bit and pretend you’re him. Or pretend you’re an actor playing Clark Kent about to step on set. Also, as a fellow gay man, I bet you have great rhythm. Even if you don’t, plug in a he…

Welcome to your midlife crisis my friend. It's happening early for you like it is for me (midlife being anywhere from 40-60, so don't go thinking you'll die at 80). It seems like your life is falling apart right now because you're still in the sewer pipe crawling your way to freedom. You're covered in shit and can't see light right now. You can't see it yet, but all of this challenge and struggle isn't your life falling apart - it's you crawling through all the shitty things about your old life …

That’s amazing friend - what would you say is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from photography about life? For me, it’s that there’s beauty in everything - finding it is just a matter of perspective

The mental stability and resilience. I’m not saying my mental health is top notch (far from it at some points in my life), but as a gay man I’ve had several close female friends comment on how consistent my mood is. Sure I get upset like everyone, and maybe those particular female friends were just unstable to begin with, but in general I’ve noticed men tend to be more stable, consistent, and resilient when it comes to mental health. Sadly that could be because society just doesn’t care so we ha…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
