You also have to look at the fact that it is needed. False claims should always be demonized (i think they should be shunned and those who report false claims should receive the sentence that the defendant would have received if found guilty) but we shouldn't have a short term negative effect us from having a long term positive. Some people will abuse it and I'm all for the whole if you force someone to fuck you it should fuck up your life thing.
