I struggle a lot with #2. Sometimes I just feel like whatever will come out of my mouth is gonna be rude/creepy/ridiculous so I end up being anti social.

What was the first step you took to escape the “idk what to do so I’m just gonna stay home and play games” mentality?

Ahh that fucking dopamine. So many people don’t know how much their lives are effected by the instant gratification of having dopamine at he push of a button on their phones and various devices.

What’s the very first step that you think someone should take when they’re unsure how to start?

Out of curiosity, what do you do for a living?

I want to join in! If you could PM me the details on how to join, that'd be great. Side note though, I'm a beginner. I hope I can still participate. FWIW I think discord would be the best way to go!

Maaaan let MFs pick up the way they want. If it works for them, more power to them.

Chance he could have depression too. In which case, please see a professional ASAP so you can get back in the right mindset in order to even begin to take the proper actions to improve your life.

I hate how people downvote shit like this because it hurts their ego. Anyway, I think this may be different based on where you live. I've had mixed results based on where I was at the time.

This is where I'm at at. I feel fucked up on the most basic of levels. Is there a school for social communication and human interaction? There fucking should be

The social skills part struck a nerve. I've worked a job where I talk to people on the phone for 2 years, and before that I had to talk to people in person in my previous job. Yet even after all of that "practice", every person I seem to talk to seems hesitant and untrustworthy of me. Almost like I'm giving off the creepiest of vibes. This happens with both genders.

How do you develop activities and dreams when you have neither?

Also do. Read, yes, but don't get caught in the trap of reading and reading and reading but never doing. Doing is when you learn the most.

How did you start? Just followed random recipes every day? I have discovered that I lack a shit load of kitchen equipment after trying to cook a few times. Guess I've got some shopping to do.

Did you have to rebuild your wardrobe during this process?

I really like this guide. My question is this, I've already got a good pair of dark blue jeans. Should I build on that with some new upper body clothes? Bottoms are my biggest challenge so branching out to chinos and other types of pants right from the get go is going to be tough.

Just skimmed it. Thanks bro; this looks super helpful. Going to read over it tonight.

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I have an idea of what I want but it's so hard finding the pieces. Did you do most of your shopping at one store or were you bouncing around?

1 week? Did you have someone help you find the pieces? How many different stores? When I go out to shop for clothes, sometimes I come back with nothing even after visiting multiple stores.

How long did it take you to create a new wardrobe? How expensive was it?

This is all great advice. It can be really difficult to break out of depressive thinking patterns even when you've identified the problem and read up on it. That's when a professional may be needed. It's what I've had the most trouble with in all of life in general.

I've come across people in real life and online that say things like this. Meditation turned them into Super Saiyan Vegeta in 2 weeks. Meanwhile, when I meditated for a month, I saw no real change with the exception of the first week. The first week, my mind stopped racing immediately after meditating. I'd meditate for 15-30 minutes. I had a moment during one of these early sessions where the room began to spin as I went deeper and deeper. From week 3 and onwards I felt nothing. I somehow got wo…

University campus? Did you have a dorm there or something? Or did all this take place in a cab?

Amazing article. Thank you for sharing. Really resonated with me. I made a connection with my own experiences and the "I want her, so I'm going get her" mindset that you wrote about. Holy shit. I never really paid it much attention. Im saving this.

One of my biggest problems by far is finding the right clothes. I find no value in material items or buying the most expensive shit to impress society. So I've never been good at shopping for clothes. How did you approach changing the way you dress? Did it make a noticeable difference in the way you were perceived?

This is the best response ever, and it doesn't have a condescending asshole-ish tone to it... Am I still on seddit? Wtf?

Love this post. Last year I felt like I was on top of the world. Felt so positive, confident, and happy. I was suddenly struck with anxiety that just never left. It turned into depression. Suddenly, I'm unable to articulate my words and I've lost a massive amount of confidence. I've lost the passion for my field of study which I'd been focusing on for so long. This has left me feeling worthless seeing as I don't have that "one thing" that I'm excited about and striving for. Me and an old flame d…

I wish there were more "first approach" posts. The way you described yourself basically describes me also. Congrats dude.

Thanks for providing the example. Guess I'm gonna calibrate a bit but stay honest and direct.

Any examples of how you've used this? I took honesty and vulnerability with a literal approach. Suddenly I became super weird to people... Either I'm super weird, or I missed something.

No one likes to acknowledge this even when it's true. Damn it does make a huge difference though

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
