That’s not what I was saying at all. You’re acting as though my argument is that only men can weaponize their incompetence. It is not. I am saying there’s a difference between incompetence and weaponized incompetence. Incompetence is not knowing how to do something. Weaponized incompetence is when you refuse to learn to do something correctly and thereby let it fall to your partner without taking anything else off their plate to compensate for it (such as hiring a maid or someone to change your …

You point out that the couple can hire a maid, but I mentioned that may not be possible for an average couple who both works full time and can’t afford one. Can you read? Other than that, thanks for agreeing with me. As we both pointed out - Regardless of the genders or the task, the example stands. There’s a difference between incompetence and weaponized incompetence. Not knowing how to change a tire is incompetence, but if I can handle it by calling a professional, then it isn’t weaponized. No…

Thanks for responding. The way the comment was phrased makes it sounds like women are fault for exercising caution around men, when truth is that the men who are quick to anger and violence have created a society where women need to do so. I don’t think “fearful” is the right term because it implies that the feeling is unfounded and equally distributed to all men in all situations, which isn’t the case. It’s not like entering a golf course or university is akin to stepping foot into an active wa…

That’s not really weaponized incompetence, though. Case in point, I’m a woman and don’t know how to change my tire. When I got a flat, I was able to call my insurance and find a professional to help me do so, and pay any fee that may have been required. Am I incompetent about changing my tire? I mean, yeah, but I know the proper channels to go through to solve the problem, and it doesn’t fall to male partner by default. If a man doesn’t know how to load a dishwasher, there isn’t a professional h…

I agree. Everything about him so far indicates that he would a co-dependent partner and I’m not about that. Cutting it off.

I don’t either. He does seem inexperienced, immature, and that makes me feel like he would be co-dependent in a relationship. I’m cutting it off. Thank you

No, he’s 33. I don’t think he has any reason to be inexperienced. I’m definitely going to cut it off with him.

What is the FDS stance in on guys who are a little too needy? A guy I’ve recently dated has 1) talked down about his weight to me and told me how nervous he is when out with me. 2) texts me often, and has a weird texting style where he sends multiple texts in a row. A few days ago he sent me 12 texts in a row to express one thought. 3) will text me the same thing right in a row. Example, last night he texted “you up” and then immediately after “U up”. Why? 4) he is always available and always te…

That’s such a good point that I didn’t even think of. He just updated his dating profile like a day or two ago and will be back next week. Guess he’s just getting ready to return? Or maybe he’s chatting with girls in his area for a hook up? No idea.

I haaaate dating. I met a guy I really liked, went on a few dates, and he’s currently out the country for 2 months. The first few weeks he was gone we talked really regularly. He would call or text me to check in. Then the texts and calls completely dropped off the last week and a half. I see that he’s posted a bunch of pictures on Facebook and has updated his dating profile, so I’m taking that to mean he’s obviously not interested anymore. Idk what I did wrong - was I too unavailable? Not avail…

Y'all. I met a guy last week and we've been on 2 dates so far and I feel myself falling hard. I'm pretty new to FDS and still unlearning my pickmeisha ways. I just want a little insight from you all about how to proceed. To give some background with pros/cons mixed in: obviously, we have tons of common interests. Like, ones I've never had with anyone before. We had a pre date phone call that lasted over 2 hours. He calls me (rather than texts) to ask me out on dates and gives me like 6 date opti…

This is so interesting to think about. My ex from a long time ago used to always ask for massages, which I gave him. When I asked if he would reciprocate, he always refused. He told me he wanted to relax without the expectation of having to give one back, as that would ruin the experience for him. This was the least of our issues but it really sums up our relationship so well. He wanted all the benefits and he wanted me to do all the work. Me working to meet his desires was an expectation but my…

If you already know how many men she's slept with, why are you asking her her n count?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/20 02:57 PM
13

To me that kind of reads like a more polite version of "I'm looking for a good time". He wants to have fun, doesn't want to work too hard, or have the girl think she deserves his effort.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/04/20 01:04 AM

I have no idea what you even mean by sex holiday. And I still don't think a woman not telling a new guy shes dating her n count right off counts as whore behavior. Look dude, I originally responded to you in a very polite way that was meant to engage in a discussion. This has now devolved into insults that do nothing to prove anyone's point or engage in a new point of view. I don't want to engage in this conversation any more. Like I said before, we just disagree.

Where's your data, bro? Where's the scientific, peer reviewed evidence defining whore behavior? Oh you don't have it? Must be based on emotions and anecdotal evidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/20 05:16 PM

Lmao okay. You hate women, definitely no way that's based on emotions. We're just gonna have to agree to disagree. Your beliefs are working for you, mine are working for me. So let's just leave it that.

If you don't believe it's possible, then it never will be. Self fulfilling prophecy. If you've already decided all women your age are sluts, then you're only gonna be looking for/finding sluts, which will just create a confirmation loop.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/20 02:01 AM
3

Okay now I'm confused. Are you classifying yourself as someone who treats women like sex objects?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/20 01:57 AM
2

My point is that someone might not be a hoe even if they refuse to answer your question about n count. They might just not want to begin the relationship by being viewed as a sex object.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/20 01:55 AM
3

How would you respond if a woman flat out asked you how much money is in your bank account, or how much you make a year? I think if keeping a low n count is something you highly value, then of course, ask away. It may make some women uncomfortable because you have just disclosed to her that her biggest value to you is sex. If you're looking for love and partnership, this may not be your best approach. If you just want casual sex, then go for it. If she doesn't mind that implication or if she val…

"I cant make anyone feel anything. I CAN influence your feelings heavily" That's just semantics. You agree with my point. "Now lets take that same interaction with your boss that made you anxious and stressed. If you decided to attack him because of how he "made you feel", is it his fault he got attacked? I mean, he did make you feel anxious and stressed." This example is a purposeful misinterpretation of my point. This is obviously a ridiculous scenario where everyone would agree that feeling y…

"So, the feelings of one person negate the intention of the other person?" Yes. You are responsible for how you make people feel. ESPECIALLY if you make them feel that they are in some kind of danger. That's called communication. Not everyone is Spock and can take only the exact literal meaning of words into account. Words, previous experience, thoughts, and feelings are the basis of communication. If my boss looks at me and says something about needing to improve my job performance, I might fee…

I disagree that physically forcing someone to have sex is that only way rape can occur. People are raped when they are unconcious and cannot fight back. Young people can be groomed by older people into having sex with them. Someone can be tricked under false pretenses into having sex with someone. I think it's important to see sexual violation as a spectrum that goes up to and includes physical force, but lots of other types of rape exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/20 09:37 PM
2

I do not believe that consent can be revoked retroactively. However, I do believe that if two people consent to sex and then either party changes their mind during the act, they can revoke consent and the other party needs to understand and respect that decision. If you were to continue having sex with the other party after that point, you are doing something wrong. That bad deed falls on a spectrum somewhere between violation of a person's wishes up to rape, and extenuating circumstances need t…

It kind of seems like we agree. Exactly - there are laws and consequences for when people break those laws. When someone rapes another person, they might be charged for it. If they aren't punished, they might still be judged harshly by society. Just like society would judge someone harshly for murder or robbery. I haven't ever robbed or murdered anyone, but yes, I would be a shitty person if I did. I don't believe I have ever raped anyone. If someone came forth (to me, police, or someone else) e…

There's a difference between "ugh fine I guess" and "fuck yes, I can't wait to suck your dick". Are both technically consent? Sure. But which one would you prefer to get? If you offered someone tea and had an attitude similar to the first example, you might get the hint they don't really want the tea. Consent should be enthusiastic and continuous.

I didn't feel my comment was unreasonable. I think my tone was fair and I was giving my perspective. I'm obviously not a representative for all women, just sharing what I see. Maybe we should all try to understand each other more instead of being on the defensive and trying to poke holes in a person's opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 11:57 PM

We both agree there. Someone trying to convince you to drink the tea after you've said no (maybe im some cases more than once) is being rude and disrespectful.

I may be wrong but I don't recall Aziz Ansari or Loius CK facing criminal charges for what happened with them. They did face a loooot of backlash socially though, and I don't think that's necessarily wrong. They were an asshole, so people are treating them like an asshole. I don't think it should last forever, but yeah, you do something super shitty, people are going to be pissed and treat you poorly. As far whether they're criminals, unfortunately that is a super gray area these days. Does coer…

That study looks interesting but the researchers state that it does not take into account relationships in which one partner is severely battered. If it did, I wonder if it would be more in line with other statistics that state that women do face more violence than men in relationships. https://ncadv.org/statistics

Okay so let's paint a picture. A man and a woman are on a date and it's going well. A man suggests sex or makes a move. The woman says no. Why would she have to leave at that point? There hasn't been a threat to her and she has no reason to assume the man will continue to coerce her. The date is going well, so it continues. But maybe the man keeps making moves. This is like any kind of peer pressure. If someone is pressuring you to do something, you might struggle internally because part of you …

I'm not sure how your statistic about men with ASD comes into play here at all. Are you implying that all the men who struggle with understanding consent are on the spectrum? AND that that should let them off the hook for any backlash after having coerced someone into sex? That is absolutely not how you help a person on the spectrum learn and grow, by shielding them from a natural consequence of their actions. For that matter, girls are largely underdiagnosed with ASD, or diagnosed at a much lat…

I don't intend to treat women like children, and I believe that men would also have difficulty navigating a power imbalance between a celebrity and themselves, regardless of the celebrity's gender. Someone you see on TV and already somewhat admire is going to have more influence on you than a rando off the street. I think a lot of people in this thread are treating men like children by saying they have no idea when someone is giving consent or not. This isn't an excuse men would use in any other…

Who enacts that violence on men? Other men, in the majority of cases. You see where the problem lies? In a relationship, which partner is more likely to have violence enacted on them? The woman. This isn't to say that men never experience abuse at the hands of women, that absolutely happens. But it's much more common that the woman in a relationship will have physical abuse at the hands of the man in the relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 06:21 PM
1

Of course I don't believe that a man has more power in a new relationship. A rich celebrity will likely have more perceived "power" than a regular person in a new relationship though. That's where the imbalance comes in to play.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 06:18 PM
1

Yes, the man's behavior is also a factor. I mentioned the woman's reaction because if a man does not know if he's being received as coersive, he could read the woman's reaction to figure that out.

That is a trait that many women actively work on today. You may have heard women encouraging other women not to apologize for things, or encouraging them to care more about safety than niceness. It's definitely a movement. For society's part, we need to all stop punishing young girls for being direct and not making them dance around their feelings all the time. And there are many men who react physically to a woman saying no to them. So since many women have experienced that, they may be hesitan…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 06:12 PM

Agreed on all of that. So basically, these celebs should have been doing these sexy check ins with their partners, because not only would it make sex hotter, it would reduce or eliminate the chance of being accused of coersion.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 08:43 AM
4

Okay, fair enough. If you're with a new partner, they might not react in ways you would expect. That's where the continuous part of consent comes in, because you can always check in with your partner. Asking "do you like that" and other dirty talk like that would give a chance for someone to continue giving or revoke consent if they aren't enjoying themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 08:26 AM
4

I guess it would depend on a lot of different factors, for example how enthusiastic she was when she did whatever sexual act the guy asked for.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/20 08:19 AM
5

"I also disagree about the “enthusiastic and continuous” part because any guy who has fucked more than 2 girls knows that’s not how shit goes down in real life. Why? Because nearly all women operate with the goal of plausible deniability due to the shame society heaps on them for wanting dick in the first place." It's really sad that anyone believes this. Yes, consent should be enthusiastic and continuous. If you ever have sex with a girl who does not seem to enjoy the experience, then you shoul…

Just giving my perspective, not saying it is the 100% truth. Maybe men need to be more educated about consent. Consent can be revoked at any time, and it should be enthusiastic and continuous. If someone is not excited about what's happened sexually, then it's time to put your dick away and move on. However, judging from your tone, you aren't interested in engaging in a constructive conversation where either of us take away a different perspective. You want to blame women who are being coerced i…

A woman may be coerced into sex if she feels there will be repercussions for her otherwise. Men are generally stronger than women, and a woman may worry about physical backlash. With celebrities, there is a power imbalance that is not something a non-famous person navigates everyday, adding a whole extra layer of nuance to the situation. Also, women really have it ingrained in us to be nice and polite at all times. Unfortunately that means that being direct feels wrong or rude to some of us some…

I disagree that penetration is degrading. Attraction and sex is much more cerebral for women, as opposed to physical/visual like it is for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/19 02:35 PM
2

Okay. So women listed the reasons why it isn't funny, after an unfunny joke was made at their expensive. That doesn't seem crazy to me. If a woman made a similar joke at men's expense, men would likely do the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/19 02:33 PM
3

I disagree with that statement. If someone makes a joke that you find hurtful, insensitive, or even just not funny, it is perfectly fine to say they don't think it's funny. Why does the right side lie with the person who is making unfunny jokes at someone else's expense? And if someone does say they didn't find the joke funny, arguing with then that they didn't get the joke isn't going to make it any more funny.
