No I know I wasn’t saying she did nothing wrong, just not that specific thing. I will say, being from Jersey, that the shore town cops, and especially those from that shore town, are almost invariably power-tripping assholes who will take any chance to fuck with you, especially if you’re under 40. Still, she should’ve played it cool: that’s kind of SOP for anyone dealing with such cops who knows anything.

I agree that this sucks, but we don’t charge anyone for the crime they falsely accuse someone of, and I don’t know there are any cases where a false accusation gives you as much time as the real crime would. It’s just not how legal systems work.

Honestly I only get it to this level because my boyfriend is a paralegal at a family law firm, so I've heard all the ins and outs. And please don't assume that this means every person collecting alimony deserves it. There are so many POSes essentially extorting money from their former spouses, and gaming the system to do it. If he was incapable of making the decision for himself, you kind of would be, e.g. an elderly friend or one with a mental disability or condition. That is materially different. The real-life situation doesn't involve counsel, it involves definitive coercion. The nail in her coffin IMO is telling him to get back into the carbon monoxide-filled car. He showed a clear desire to stop, and she coerced him into continuing. In states that allow PAS, the doctor asks at multiple stages whether the patient is sure s/he wants to kill him/herself. If at any stage s/he shows reluctance, the procedure is stopped.

Ok, I understand if people are against male circumcision. Personally, I'm circumcised, and very happy to be. However, female circumcision simply isn't on the same level as male circumcision. Cutting off a girl's clitoris and sewing up her vagina would be akin to cutting off the tip of your penis and then pushing your penis back into your body and sewing up the hole.
