My wife's cousin keeps telling me inappropriate things and it is disturbing me.I love how you guys refuse to accept a simple concept. He doesn’t respect op’s boundaries. OP shouldn’t be around this person at all. It doesn’t matter what the reason is. Anyone who doesn’t respect your boundaries doesn’t respect you. | /r/MenSupportMen | 12/10/22 04:35 PM
My wife's cousin keeps telling me inappropriate things and it is disturbing me.Why would the vibe matter if op made it clear that he’s uncomfortable? Regardless the cousin needs to respect his boundaries or kick rocks. | /r/MenSupportMen | 12/10/22 03:40 PM
Why does it seem like everyone’s first response is telling people to seek professional help?Yeah man at least you’re understanding kind of where I’m coming from. I just had a therapy appointment Friday and I feel like absolute shit and my appointment isn’t for 2 weeks. I could schedule an emergency appointment for next week, but hows that going to help me get through today? Even if someone said watch movies or just try eating and the basics (showering, brushing teeth, etc.) I would feel relief. I just feel like telling someone to go to therapy isn’t necessarily the right answer. People… | /r/MenSupportMen | 04/09/22 04:58 PM
Why does it seem like everyone’s first response is telling people to seek professional help?Huh? You missed the point of my post. Also I’m having a hard time understanding why the second paragraph is needed | /r/MenSupportMen | 04/09/22 04:46 PM

Why does it seem like everyone’s first response is telling people to seek professional help?Yea that’s true, businesses have troubles paying livable wages/good insurance. Sorry to hear that man. I hope you’ve moved on to a better therapist. Hopefully you’re in a better place as well. Abuse directed towards men isn’t taken as serious as it should be unfortunately. | /r/MenSupportMen | 04/09/22 02:36 AM
Why does it seem like everyone’s first response is telling people to seek professional help? What are you even talking about? I never mentioned trying fix anyones issues. I stated we should encourage them to do other things along with telling them to go to therapy. I’m sorry that your responses clearly dictate a misunderstanding. It’s not a “tough pill to swallow” you seemingly didn’t read or comprehend my post. | /r/MenSupportMen | 04/09/22 12:57 AM

Mid-week check-inI am becoming more depressed as the days move on and I’m still in constant nerve pain so I’m pretty limited as to what I’m doing. On top of that my uncle has stopped chemo because he’s tired of being sick all the time so it’s about to be rough | /r/MenSupportMen | 30/08/22 11:18 PM
Is there a possibility to get any actually useful support? No, you misunderstood what I typed, it’s okay though! I’m asking if it would be helpful to hear from people who are in/or have found it helpful in the past. You have to have realistic expectations going on. It’s not as easy as going on and everything is solved. It takes a lot of courage to open up about stuff and be 100% honest with your therapist and build trust with them. Even so you will take awhile to notice any difference with your brain. I haven’t heard of people needing to switch constant… | /r/MenSupportMen | 29/08/22 03:14 PM

Mid-week check-inI am pretty content! Some things I do to feel better: play video games, listen to music, read, and journal. Think of a time when you were having a really hard time overcoming an issue. You made it through that! You are a strong individual! Believe in yourself! Love you guys! Feel free to pm. | /r/MenSupportMen | 16/08/22 04:17 PM
What activities do you guys do for coping/fun?What kind of fish do you have? I thought about getting one again. Use to have goldfish and this larger black fish (not sure what it’s called) always thought it was relaxing to watch them | /r/MenSupportMen | 15/08/22 02:14 PM

how do i make guy friends my age?Hey man you never know if the people that are 10+ years your elder wanna be friends or not! I’m 24 and have some friends that are almost double my age and I see them every so often or go out to eat lunch with them and we have similar hobbies. Anyway if you’re looking for people around your age there’s always clubs and stuff like that around your area, bumble has a bff option you can use(set up exactly like the dating app but it’s for friends), there’s more than likely Facebook groups for certain… | /r/MenSupportMen | 05/08/22 01:33 AM
Mid-week check-inSo my dad has been emotionally absent from my life since I was born. This has lead to feeling like my mom is the only parent in my home, amongst other things like my dad being passive aggressive, feeling awkward when I do something with my dad, etc. I also am dealing with PTSD from shootings, watching my uncle slowly die from cancer, and a car accident. Also I’m becoming depressed because I can’t work because I have constant nerve pain and I have financial debt that will inevitably go to collect… | /r/MenSupportMen | 03/08/22 12:28 AM
Mid-week check-inI’m downright miserable, but I am surviving | /r/MenSupportMen | 02/08/22 10:57 PM
Hi, New HereGoing to piggyback off another comment, but have you tried doing stuff with your kids that you like doing? Allows you to be with your family more and you’re spending time with yourself at the same time. Although day drinking may help you feel better, it’s temporary on top of being self destructive and can easily turn into an addiction. Not my place to judge coming from a fellow addict, but be careful. What do you think would add purpose to your life? | /r/MenSupportMen | 29/07/22 02:38 AM
