Is ncount being positive for men and negative for women equal between the genders? No. Is actually a good point, but disagree with the rest

/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/23 11:31 PM

Oh because it's the norm to?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/23 10:34 PM

I don't see why he would agree to that unless he doesn't really want to do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/23 10:05 PM

It's not just because it's the norm. Since it is the accepted norm for the man to propose and it's a once in a lifetime event, the fact that she has to do it means he has to go out of his way to NOT do it. He is implicitly saying that he doesn't want to do it and out of desperate measures, the woman does it to guarantee herself the commitment. She can express her commitment without having to propose.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/23 09:48 PM

They can express it without doing a proposal

I think there are women out there who value other traits, I'm just waiting to meet one of them eventually. It's down to luck. I can increase my chances by putting myself more out there but it's not worth my time right now, I'd rather spend more time building up my career

Given that the average American have no idea what they're doing, I.e., 73% are overweight or obese, only 35% have a bachelor's degree, median income is 40k, divorce rate 50%, I can safely assume most would be shitty partners and would cheat given a good opportunity, and this is gender neutral. However if we're talking about people who actually have their life together, I.e., educated, goes to the gym and stays healthy, knows how to be a good partner, etc, most would not cheat.

$1750 on rent is actually really barely surviving in a major city, which proves my point. A meal is $10-15, times 2 that's $30. Unless you cook then idk maybe $15, so you save another $5k per year

I think I understand just fine. I also accept that you have a different definition of "insane money" and that it doesn't mean you need better understanding of what it means as it is subjective.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 11:48 PM
1

To be honest I have no idea what you are saying. You can have unreasonable expections about something easy. Making 60k -> easy, making 6 million -> unreasonable, but anyways hope your day gets better from here y2kjanelle😁
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 11:20 PM
1

See i 100% agree with you, it's easy peasy and I just have unreasonable expections
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 11:12 PM
1

That's only because I'm extremely hard on myself, same way I'm not happy with my income even though I'm in the top 1% bracket for my age. Losing 1.5lbs per week is still really good for normal measures and it was easy peasy.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 10:48 PM
1

There's really no point continuing this discussion as it just comes down to different opinions of what "insane money" is and can do. Again to me "insane" is owning a yatch, startups, private chef, etc. To you that's "wealthy"and you're free to think so.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 10:43 PM
1

I did reach my goal :)
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 10:39 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 10:49 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 10:35 PM

I wish I knew this when I was losing weight but have you tried konjac jelly noodles/snacks? These foods are insane, instead of having 300 calorie noodles for a meal I could have these for like... 20 calories and it's the same amount of food and keeps you full.

Depends on what you eat. 1200 on fast food is like 1 and a half burgers, sure. But can be 3 meals with lots of vegetables and lean meat. There's even a sub dedicated to this, r/1200isplenty. Also if you can't do 2 hours straight you can always space it out over 4 x 30 minute sessions, it all depends on how badly you want to try and what you prioritize in lifd
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 09:54 PM
1

If you ate 1000 calories at 118 you'd lose weight
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 09:48 PM
1

How? If you run for 2 hours a day that's 1300 calories burned. If you then eat 1500 calories for the day you're already in an insane deficit, might even get away with 1 hour of running.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 09:45 PM
1

That's actually really respectable, congrats!
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 09:44 PM
1

Too based for this sub
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 09:41 PM
1

I guess it boils down to our definitions of insane money. To me it's not insane but still really good money. But if that's insane money to you, how would you describe "having a private chef" money?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 09:40 PM

No, we were talking about how 330k is an "insane" amount of money

u/teddiesinterlude willing to share your income? It's pretty important for context, since you seem to have a great perspective on income
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 04:40 PM
1

Well said.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 04:33 PM
1

Since we are talking "insane" money, some of the "insane" things would be: own a yatch, start and fund my own startup, stay at $20k/night hotels, own a private jet, hire a full time chef and bartender at my home, do all the above without having to work, etc. Is that enough or would you like more examples?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 03:35 PM
2

I think although some of these qualities ar above average, they're barely above "bare minimum". 65k a year is above average for ALL people, but what about for just college graduates? Then it seems reasonable. Level of devotion: personally I think everyone should want a person who is enthusiastic about dating them
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 03:12 PM
1

I'm not pushing an agenda and I feel like man A is a pretty reasonable criteria, if women prefer that then I will admittedly change my view
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:59 PM
1

Sorry I'm not familiar with it, what cartoon relates to this?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:56 PM
1

If that's the case then the man is also above average
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:35 PM
1

I mean in the post there are number of qualities, looks, height, rich, loving, loyal, not porn addicted, being into you, but you stuck to the money part like a heat seeking missile, and immediately attacked me for being "broke" when you thought I was broke, so yes you seem hyper focused on money for some odd reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:29 PM
1

Actually I would if enough women did and if they made sense
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:23 PM
0

Edit: LOL she blocked me before i can reply but there are definitely numerous qualities besides money that i mentioned in the post Dam, you left 7 comments and they're all about the money part of the post. Although not the point of this post, I'm sure there are previous posts in the sub discussing whether women would choose hot and poor over average and rich.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:23 PM

You might realize it's a "change my view" post, that's my view and many men in the comments resonate.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:19 PM

My "broke" comment was sarcasm, but great to know that you think "broke men" are immediately undesirable. You're also focused on the money part of the hypothetical, I'm sure your opinion on whether I'm a good catch or not holds great weight

There is a recent post discussing romance novels and it talked about a book where the character is a hot surgeon but a douche and women loved him. https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/151e4qb/are_romance_novels_a_good_indicator_of_what_turns/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1 This is perfectly in line with the fact that women focus on the status part, not the loving part. You're saying women want boxes to tick and men don't. Men care more …

Well presenting your best self is different from presenting someone that's completely not you, agree or no? Like grooming and looking good for the date is fine because we always groom, but if a man rented a lambo to try to impress someone and trying to create the impression that he owns the car that's deceptive, same concept with these salad
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 07:02 AM

That ain't what I said
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:55 AM

No offense but the further away you are from 550k, the bigger it'd seem to you, so you must be making very little to think that it's an insane amount of money. Not denying that it's good, but it's not insane.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:52 AM
1

Not just so you don’t think she’s in danger of getting fat, although that is one reason Well that'd be deceptive if they're doing it for the date and aren't otherwise health conscious normally
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:46 AM
-2

Women care about ticking boxes as much or as little as men. That's my point. Nope, that's why past the attraction part, men will pick the most loving and loyal option and women will pick the highest status option. That's why the common male fantasies center around the women saving herself for a man (loyalty) and sticks with him through hard times. While the female fantasy centers around the status of the man (6'4 billionaire surgeon vampires). Also, I don't think why you keep saying attractive i…

Yes I do and 550k is good but not that much money (~330k after tax)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:32 AM
1

Well you were saying women would order a salad so men don't think they're pigs but in your case you were already eating salads, so it's not like you did it with the intention to make him not think you're a pig - you were just being yourself
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:31 AM
0

No my view is that even for hookups, men are more likely to pick option A than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:18 AM
0

Women don't care about how loving a man is? Not as much as what boxes he can tick, even after getting past the attraction part Ever read a romance novel or watched a romanic movie geared towards women? Yes I'm glad you brought this up because it is literally a meme that in romance novels geared towards women the guy is always some 6'4 billionaire vampire surgeon
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:16 AM
1

But I'm saying if you aren't an extremely health conscious person who eats salads everyday but portray yourself as one by doing so on every date that's deceptive..
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:12 AM

That sounds deceptive
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:02 AM

No 5th date and that's weird
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:54 AM

See my other comment Well my only concern is when she knows I'm paying, she's too nice to order any expensive dishes
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:52 AM

Well my only concern is when she knows I'm paying, she's too nice to order any expensive dishes
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:51 AM

True
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:20 AM

Ok I guess a better idea is discussing the menu before going to the restaurant
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:14 AM

Q4W: how do you feel about a man offering to pick what to order for you at a restaurant

Sure I'll let you know
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 03:52 AM

Your gender and choice?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:44 AM
2

Exactly, take out the premise "flirting with other people" and replace with just "not very into you but still loyal", then the difference is very clear because men will be picking A and women will be picking B
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 02:00 AM
-2

Yeah that's the thing, even if option B doesn't cheat (just not very into you), men will still pick A, women will be picking B.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 01:58 AM
2

Even when considering just sex, men will choose A, women will choose B.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 01:51 AM
-3

Ok sure, changing to "addicted to porn". And the thing is the premise does not include worrying about whether Option B exists, when they're literally presented in front of people, men are likely choosing A and women choosing B.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 01:50 AM
1

How so? I'm 10,000% choosing woman A
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 01:45 AM

Trying to take her to a nice restaurant in her area but none are >$200, first world problems i guess

/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/23 12:41 AM

Gotta say I agree with you, you sure do demonstrate you understand the concept when you're stuck on thinking this is about making a group of people (who otherwise wouldn't like you because of your height) like you
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/23 12:39 AM
1

Again not talking about any specific girl liking you or not, and a terrible comparison with old pictures. I don't think you understand how dating app algorithms work or will so I'm going to leave it at this
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/23 12:21 AM
1

Exactly, you value your time and want to spend less time and effort to meet the love of your life. I'm not sure why you're so confused. Also explain how is disingenuous?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/23 12:10 AM

I'm not talking about you being handicapped as an option (as a matter of fact to many women you are not) but in the sense that your rating is handicapped and your profile was shown to fewer people
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/23 12:05 AM

Congrats for turning out alright, doesn't change the fact that you were handicapped
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 11:50 PM

Would've done finer
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 11:45 PM

Weight and height?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 11:27 PM

If you list your height your elo will instantly drop to the bottom of the stack regardless of how you are as a whole as a person, and if the love of your life is out there who doesn't even care about your height, they might never even see your profile just Tinder fucked over your rating. If OP agrees with that system then by all means list it. Also if someone loses interest immediately because of OP's then they wasted OP's time not the other way around
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 11:21 PM

Money is only a bonus, they still gotta be attracted to you. Minus gold diggers. Most ppl will pick someone they're very attracted to making 70k over someone they're not attracted to making 700k
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 11:16 PM

Pretend to offer to help then ghost her
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 11:09 PM

People thinking Mark Zuckerberg just sits in his little office and does code monkey things and managed to grow a company to 1 Trillion market cap lmao. It required incredible charisma to manage even 3 engineers at big tech
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/23 10:57 PM

Don't list it 2. If they seem disappointed when you meet say something came up at work and dip

What?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:06 PM

What's wrong with it
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:05 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:01 PM

It is tho
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:01 PM

Women having average sex*
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:00 PM

Not really, if it's something I don't care about then I'd be fine with whatever's given to me. And boobs is not something I care about. Obviously excluding anomalies and deformities
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:59 PM

Dam sorry to hear that for them
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:32 PM

Women have more intense orgasms and can have multiple, why wouldn't they like it more?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:26 PM

Yes it is
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:25 PM

There is no magic number but a good therapist can definitely untangle misconceptions and false beliefs faster than others. And yes I put in a lot of work outside of that too
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:25 PM

It's pretty bad but also a less of a deal than I previously thought
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:17 PM

Men are not hornier than women
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:16 PM

Not sure what you're basing that off but no one I know would just go for anyone even if they're lonely
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:15 PM

Why
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:12 PM

I estimate I'm about 4 more therapy sessions away from getting over my lack of height
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:09 PM
1

Second one, height not being part of the attractiveness equation
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:04 PM
2

For sex or for dating and marriage?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 03:12 PM
1

I don't think just because most men are X inches taller means women prefer it. Same way most people make X amount of money but most would prefer someone in the top 1% bracket
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 03:06 PM
2

Anything that shows you notice his interests and care. And matching couple stuff if he's into that
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:47 PM

Not care as long as they're taller* see edits for updated definition
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:45 PM
1

What? Doubt that's true, at least personally. I don't settle for any quality I care about
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:34 PM
2

Obviously if someone is in the 0.01th percentile of height people would care. The question gave a context of men who are at least as tall as the women
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:18 PM
1

What? What makes my statement so unbelievable?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:14 PM
1

So you would? That's pretty crazy to me. Also, evidence concludes that those men are picked because of their height, or men in those positions happen to be tall? I'm trying to understand the difference between correlation and causation.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:11 PM
1

Yep who cares
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:01 PM
1

I actually don't have a tit preference, I'm willing to hit a random generator button like redditor avatars and will be fine with any normal range of boob sizes that comes out of it. The question is simple, what portion of women feel this way about height as long as the man is as tall or 2 inches taller?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:57 PM
1

The difficulty doesn't come from the amount of choices but the amount of work needed to achieve a goal (definition of difficulty)
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:54 PM
1

I'm no expert but eye makeup?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:53 PM

What's her definition of short?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:33 PM

You really think people will choose a taller but less competent person for a job just because he's taller and we are "subconsciously biased" towards it? You don't see how reckless that type of decision making is for something as small as hiring an employee, let alone for important decisions like picking a CEO/president?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:30 PM
1

Interesting what's your weight criteria?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:26 PM
2

Right, I'm saying that to some it's not settling because they truly don't care. That's like me dating a normal boob sizes girl and people thinking I'm settling for her because I couldn't get a bigger boobed girl, but that'd be stupid because I actually give 0 thoughts to boob size
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:25 PM
1

I wouldn't say that's every man
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:18 PM
1

I really don't tho, I actually prefer smaller breasts and butts
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 01:16 PM
2

How so? Just like how I don't care about boob size
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:58 AM
2

Well those women would fall under category one: they care but just overlooking it
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:57 AM
2

Although very rare I don't think it's 0%
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:50 AM
1

See edit for definition of don't care
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:32 AM
2

Oh wow, I wonder if it's just you (and since we surround ourselves with people similar to us, it's more likely for your peers to also think this way) or this is more common among women than I thought
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:28 AM
4

Marginally taller is exactly the same as 6ft+ to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:20 AM
14

That's exactly what I mean. Most want a tall man ideally but willing to settle for shorter than her ideal, which is not the same as not caring. Truly not caring (besides just taller than her) seems very rare
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:14 AM
7

Your way of thinking is exactly the first scenario tho. Ideally, tall is better, or as you say sprinkles on top, but if not that's fine. On the other hand personally boobs to me are the same regardless of size, there is no sprinkles on top
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:10 AM
3

I think wanting someone at least as tall as themselves or a bit taller is valid. But I'm wondering how many care about having someone "tall" as defined by society aka 6ft
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:01 AM
-3

I think wanting someone at least as tall as themselves or a bit taller is valid. But I'm wondering how many care about having someone "tall" as defined by society aka 6ft
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:00 AM

So 70% don't care? Also I don't think boobs is apple to apple comparison as I'd argue a lot more men completely do not care about boob size than women not caring about height
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:58 AM
2

Eh, in cm the obsession is over 180cm/185cm, etc. Same shit
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:42 AM

Only #3 is attractive to me
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:17 AM

Correlation is not causation, don't get the two confused. Nobody is thinking "ohh he's tall, let's vote him into office/CEO" but rather "he has the abilities and skills to do the job, let's vote him"
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:09 AM

What is your opinion on OMG by New Jeans
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 11:49 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 11:23 PM

For example some of the common reasons people cite when they say they prefer tallness: - feeling safer with them - feel like a smaller person next to them - knowing that other people want them
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 11:23 PM

Yes it does and it also doesn't take into account our taste changes with age. At 25 Im attracted to attractive 22-27 year olds, at 35 I would probably be attracted to 28-38 year olds, 35 and 22 would be weird
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 11:18 PM

What is the most important factor?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 11:16 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 11:11 PM

But every other women is constantly saying they prefer tall men, etc, you don't get FOMO?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 11:11 PM

How do you feel when your gal friends "show off" their boyfriend's height or make little comments about your bf? Or simply seeing the hype on social media. Surely you've experienced this?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 09:21 PM

Do you truly not care? Why not? I agree that women like you exist although seems pretty rare, maybe 10% or so
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 09:06 PM

I can see it as the halo effect which has studies behind it
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 09:05 PM

I doubt "taller than me" is enough, I.e., if a women is 5'4 she absolutely will not be content with someone 5'6
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 09:04 PM

Im interested in women's opinions on this https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/14xws6d/height_is_the_most_influencing_factor_to_a_mans/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

Same way white is the Hollywood standard. Doesn't need a logical reason. Subconsciously people like fast food more than fruits and salads, and one is healthier than the other, not sure what you're getting at.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/23 04:27 AM
1

The same way beauty standards operate. Collectively society define the standard for "good traits" , you either follow it or don't care. Even if you don't care, you're subjected to peer pressure because if your friends have partners that are more "good" than yours, they'll make you feel bad and pressured to keep up. Of course not every person or friend group is like this, but as whole it shifts people's perception little by little.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/23 03:23 AM

The correct answer is status, and what status encompasses changes with age. For women in school, having a tall, handsome boyfriend = high status. Out of school, tall, handsome, rich + prestigious field
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 11:39 PM
1

Again do you have any specific examples? I'm looking at a lecture he did at Harvard and he seems well spoken and not socially lacking. https://youtu.be/xFFs9UgOAlE

Can you give examples of his unintelligent behavior at the courtroom
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 11:11 PM
1

You are though. Your stance is that height is more important than intelligent when defining "strong" genetics because desires do not evolve as fast as modern technology. Intelligence was important from the beginning of humans, we do not need to follow technology to see it as important. Also I'm not sure if you're trolling that Mark Zuckerberg is not well rounded in intelligence, someone that runs a company that even people in tech can only dream of joining.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 10:59 PM

Intelligence is not exclusive to modern times. Also can you explain well rounded intelligence
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 10:42 PM

Nope

Not really, imagine all those gay men are known to hit on literally anyone, do you still feel special now?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 09:12 PM
1

If that was true then women would be liking gorilla looking men, as that would've been useful in the "evolutionary times"
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 08:51 PM
1

Is it because they "survive better" tho? Also why do you think muscle cannot be genetic?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 08:18 PM
1

If that was true that they survive better, we would have evolved to be a lot taller and muscular than we are now
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 08:02 PM
1

Q4W: y'all actually date based on genetic potential? I was under the impression that people date people they enjoy spending time with, etc
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 07:29 PM
1

You think people are choosing their partners based on genetic potential? Even if let's imagine that was true, why would height be the trait to look for? In this economy I'd aim for the most intelligent gene, I would rather be Mark Zuckerberg's dad than a tall nobody
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 07:20 PM

I'm pretty sure it is

First of all if he doesn't want to married at all then I'm going to dip immediately. After 2-4 years (depending on our age), I'd keep discussing future plans to suss out how he feels, make sure we're on the same page, and reiterate my goals, at any point if he says marriage is not what he's looking for, I dip. After 5-6 years he still hasn't proposed, I safely assume he's been lying for the past 3-4 years and I dip.

Agreed, and I feel like this is how it works for both genders - attraction operates on a threshold, once you're attracted to someone, a 6-7 is the same as a 10. People will take a 6 with a personality match over a 10 with no match anyday
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/23 04:10 PM

Ideally neither but if someone puts a gun to my head I'd pick the 10 since I wouldn't be able to get it up for the 3

Nobody is going to argue about whether 300k is above median, it's obviously factual. However, what's debatable is the definition and what constitutes "middle"/"upper class". Does upper class mean affording nice cars, being able to afford a house and not live paycheck to paycheck doing so? Having a paid off house? Having massive amount of savings? What does it mean? Or to you it should just be purely based on income distribution?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 04:29 PM
1

"Average" is a method of calculating data, so it's not debatable. However when talking about class and lifestyle, the definitions are more debatable. Someone making 500k and and 500 million are both "upperclass", but their lifestyle is dramatically different, doesn't make sense to lump the 2 together.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 03:48 PM
1

If you're buying a house in NYC...why? Cuz you live here and have to commute to work. $10 per meal if you cook your own, and $15-20 if you buy. 3 meals a day.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 03:31 PM
2

300k in NYC after taxes: $15,823/month House in NYC: $1.5 million. Monthly mortgage + interest: $10k. Car + insurance: $1k Food + groceries: $1k 401k: $1.6k Student loans (if you made it to 300k/yr most likely you had good education): ? Added benefit of "if you lose your job, you're immediately fucked"
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 03:27 PM
1

You don't think the "definitions" are debatable?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 03:22 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 05:04 AM

Pretty good theory actually. Most likely she got sucked into the "manosphere bad" TikTok algorithm and that's all she sees. Funnily enough men on the other side of coin are on the "women bad" algorithm
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 04:21 AM

I agree although if she's after men she can't have (assuming they're good men), at least she would know they are out there? So I don't understand why she's so grim about it
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 04:13 AM

Please do expand on it I'm intrigued
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 04:05 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 12:57 AM

I'm leaning towards more HVW, because it doesn't take much right now to be one (be in shape/not fat). Men cannot change their height (already fucked), and have to work towards the top 1% of earnings to be considered the same level of value
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 12:52 AM

based af thing to say

I support it because stop fucking over the middle/lower class, or anyone where 10k would really make a difference
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 06:39 PM
1

No wayy, really? You really would think your partner has an X% chance of cheating just because the general population makes up that statistic? Even if they've proven to you over the years that they're a good person? I get why you're so adamant that one has to accuse their partner of cheating in order to request a paternity test now, because to you it's literally impossible for someone to trust their partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 06:38 PM
1

Am I left wing or right wing? My stances on current issues: LGBTQ+ rights: support Banning affirmative action: support Banning abortion: against Banning permanent alimony: support Forgiving student loans: support Cities should be harsher in prosecuting crimes: support More accountability for law enforcement: support

I'm not denying that you can still "do well" if you put time into it. But at such a disadvantage, the ROI is not worth the time
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 05:00 PM
1

Cuz as a guy, my value is bottlenecked by mostly one gene - height. I'm doing my best to maximize other areas of my life, but I'll never reach "high value". At the very best I'll maybe reach 7/10. I still keep my door open but I'm not going to actively compete in a rigged game
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 04:35 PM
1

You and I have very different takes on what is "totally reasonable." I would love to hear why you think this is unreasonable! The absolute chance of your baby being swapped at birth vs your partner cheating are have nothing to do with your feelings. There is a far greater likelihood, per occurrence/incident, of your partner cheating than a baby swap. The "absolute chance" is based on general data, why would I care how often the general population is cheating? I'm dating a specific person who I k…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 04:27 PM
2

Except for the like nearly zero percent chance that the baby was swapped at the hospital or you're one of those weird incomplete twins Exactly, I'm glad you're figuring it out as this is a totally reasonable case to protect yourself against. practical reason this would be is because the mother cheated. Actually practically speaking, the chance of my partner cheating on me is less than a baby being swapped at the hospital, as I trust that I'm dating a good person (otherwise we wouldn't date). The…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 04:02 PM

Or, the principle that I'm only raising and paying for my own child. Why do you want to believe so badly that men who do this are thinking their partner is cheating material? Also, a house can't burn itself down but people living in it can, now what difference is that making? Are you going to forego homeowners insurance?

romantic path 💀
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 03:28 PM

Hm right, because relationships are like jobs where people look for someone with as much experience as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 03:14 PM
2

Fully agree with this. I just want someone in my "league" (although in my eye they'll be 10/10 because of the love chemicals or whatever). I will never be able to relate to someone who is seen as a 10/10 by society (they wouldn't be interested in me anyways) and we would look hella out of place
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 02:32 PM
5

Goddam that's some female version of nice guy content
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 02:23 PM
1

You seem to think that when someone asks for a paternity test, they are suspecting their partner of cheating, which is not necessarily true. It could be based on principle, regardless of who the woman is. For analogy, if I buy homeowner's insurance, I'm "suspecting" that my home will burn down. Also, cheating is not the only reason your kid might not be yours. She could be drugged and raped unbeknownst to her, although extremely unlikely, just like cheating is.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 02:21 PM
2

Lol why do these people care anyways, if you work less than them, they have a better chance of having a better performance rating than you and therefore getting a higher raise
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/23 02:04 PM

I'm sorta blackpilled and I've chosen to focus on my career, once I reach my career goals I will actively work on finding someone to marry in my early 30s or so

I find it hard to vent to my de facto gf, idk what it is but I think she tries too hard to please me instead of actually listening. Real life example: Me: I gave a product demo today and stakeholders were genuinely surprised about my progress, even though I'm behind on deadlines Gf: omg wowww you go!! You're doing such a good job! Guy friend: starts talking about how deadlines are bullshit, and we have a good convo
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/23 04:35 PM
1

Yeah exactly. Sports - I do it with people I already know, and so are other people. Volunteer - not sure if worth my time. Clubs - could be a good idea, do you have examples? A lot of my friends were made simply because we were forced to be around each other and slowly got to know each other, so consistent promixity is amazing for meeting new connections.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 10:31 PM

I don't think I can do more. I do 9:30am - 12:30am weekdays, weekends 11:00am - 12:30am (catching up on sleep). Minus a few hours for socializing.

/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 09:57 PM

It's true
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 06:01 PM
2

I've come to the realization that I'm not as low value as I thought. So I'm upgrading from the black pill to gray pill (I made it up). I think my problem is lack of exposure, even if only 2% of women would be very into me, that's still 2 if I meet 100 of them. I'm pretty sure my match is somewhere out there. What's the solution?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 05:52 PM

Good to know that I'm on a good path. How old are you now and how's it going?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 03:37 PM

I still squeeze in socializing and combine it with hobbies. I also used to use lunch hour at work to socialize but I stopped doing that cuz I'm a workaholic
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 03:32 PM

Dam, just realized I work a lot. Like 80-90hr a week
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 03:23 PM
2

That does make sense now that I think about it
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 05:29 AM

I think it's a bit disingenuous to say they chose you simply because better choices weren't on the table when they did the choosing
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 05:26 AM
1

But the reason they didn't is because the said partner is not attractive enough to get people more attractive than myself. Both men and women pick the best partner they can get. That's assuming people date within their exact league which we know is know always true. It's not unreasonable for someone to punch above their weight by 2 points. But then thats not settling. Settling is if you have X, Y, Z options, but you chose W because u just want to get into a relationship / marriage. It is settlin…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 05:10 AM

Q4ALL in relationships: do you ever think about how your partner is settling for you? Like, there are tons of people in better shape, taller, makes more money, funnier, more charisma, etc than you, while still having a personality match with your partner. If those people have pursued your partner before you got together, y'all would not be together right now. So the only reason you are is they could not find a better option before meeting you. What do you think of that? Although thinking back to…

What's your favorite cut of steak? (For cooking)
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 11:01 PM

I know plenty of people who are conservative with food spending but splurge on other things and vice versa. My point is food is not conclusive to one's spending habits.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 10:37 PM

Uh, height is definitely not like boobs for women. Have you heard women brag about their boyfriends? It's usually "my X feet boyfriend who is X profession and does X for me" in that order. Height is like the number 1 trait. How often have you heard men talk about their D cup boobs gf? None because people rarely gives a shit about boob size.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 10:21 PM

Or, people spend differently across different categories.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 10:13 PM

Penny pinching can only get you so far, in this case $20/meal
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 09:24 PM

Jacked like bodybuilder jacked or built and lean? At <=5'8 jacked, just looks wide
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 08:16 PM

Yeah there's no way that's 160 especially at 5'11
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 08:13 PM

I'm interested to hear your experience. Can you elaborate more? What particular parts he said aligns with your experience? Getting more pussy than 5'10 dudes? What differentiates you from other men?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 08:09 PM

Unfortunately I'm not rich enough to feel like $20 for a salad is nothing, but $10 meals feel like nothing to me nowadays
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 08:07 PM

5'8 + good looking + ambitious + good job + good hobbies beats out 6'2 + average looks? That is surprising to me. Can any woman comment on this?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 08:05 PM

Dam, sorry to hear that. But I'm surprised she picked a 5'8 man
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 07:03 PM

We're only allowed to argued in here
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 07:01 PM

One day I'll finally be rich enough to not feel any physical pain for spending $20 on a salad
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 06:28 PM

Height is not a guarantee for high SMV, it's like a ticket to an environment where you can become it. You can still fuck it up by lacking in other areas. It just shows how tough the dating market is. It's like being from the US, It's easy to make over 100k USD if you put effort into it. But good luck trying to make over 100k USD in [some unknown country]

if you compensate for your lack of good genetics with other rare good genetics, you'll do fine I'm curious what you think happens to average height men with average faces? Also for context how tall are you anyways?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:43 PM

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=5%276+runway+models
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:36 PM

I suppose that's one way to look at it. Personally, having your SMV capped at "average" just for being born under 5'10 is not very enticing.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:35 PM

Sure, if you're aiming for average dating options
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:23 PM

5'10 So you have no idea what it's like, and yet speak to it. Shit you don't even have to be short yourself to have empathy, like, I'm not a fat chick and yet I can still visualize how hard it would be to be one. I'm luckily not as short as 5'5 but I know that if I was I'd be done for
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:22 PM

Agreed except for 5'10 and above. 5'9 is still "short"
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:16 PM

Before I read this, how tall are you?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:15 PM

Depends on gender
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 04:13 PM

My motivation is myself, sometimes I see my body in the mirror and I'm like "dam, gotta keep up this good work"
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/23 02:08 PM

It's because their SMV is probably above average. Why would you look for "average" when you're above average? On the other hand if some average 170lb Becky is saying she needs a man making >100k then that's delulu

If you are looking for a nice apartment it usually comes with a rooftop pool whether you use it or not
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:55 PM

Source from nih.gov: https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/health-statistics/overweight-obesity There is not much variability between the age groups for obesity, so the number is probably more like 73% still for ppl 18-25
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:38 PM

At our rooftop pool now, most of us are high income, now that i look at it
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:18 PM

42% of the general population is obese, so you're left with 59%, factor in no kids/marriage, pretty reasonable that you're only left with 41%. If you change it to exclude overweight as well, it drops to 17.88%, since 73% of our population is overweight/obese

the default woman look has the same general features, Source? It's perfectly possible to have visible muscles on a healthy body Women are called men if their shoulders or arms are too pronounced. Muscles/being fit looks quite good on both men and women. It's hard to see what you mean without any visual examples. In any case, still disagree that women are discouraged from having muscle.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 02:39 AM
2

Basically the way this works is the default face we think of as a woman's face is automatically a made-up face. Debatable, it's hard to have a default image since "women" can come in so many different looks. Yeah, they're encouraged to have some muscle that looks sexy, Well i think muscles are meant to be built for looks, same for men as well. If someone just cares about health they would do cardio or other sports, or just train for strength.

Edit: Anddd as always, crickets when challenged about their hypocrisy. Leg lengthening surgeries are dumb too, They are dumb. Along with society's preference for tall people. Would you agree? turning women down for not having big tits, an ass, an attractive face, a skinny body or having wrinkles? People doing that are dumb, since you can't control tits, ass, face shape and wrinkles. Well, I guess you can control ass size but it would be an extremely dumb thing to reject someone over. These are my personal opinions and maybe I'm outlier: Makeup is a carcinogen, yet women who don't wear it are considered ugly just because so many women wear it Someone is not ugly just because they don't wear makeup, it doesn't really make sense. If naturally someone is good looking, if they don't wear makeup they're not suddenly ugly. If someone is ugly, well, then they're just ugly, and it's actually a blessing that makeup can help with that instead of just being stuck ugly. Women are discour…

Nobody says relationships are "only looks". Everyone wants someone loyal, communicates well, a good person, good career, etc, only if they're attracted to them. In other words, it starts with looks. If you're a 2/10, it doesn't matter if you're loyal, good person, good career, etc, your league is 2/10. You're not going to just date anyone off the streets who's loyal, are you? On the other hand yes, once you pass the "looks" screening, things like being broke or a shitty person can still break yo…

I think the "why" is that online dating amplifies hypergamy. Women can easily punch above their weight (for sex), and it makes them feel like they could do the same for relationships/commitment. Let's say you're a 6/10 woman and you know you can easily get a 7-8 to fuck you and you believe there's a chance they'd date you too, would you now date a 6 or would you rather wait for an 8 to come along and commit to you? The choice is obvious. I've talked to female friends who are actually delusion an…

Not the OP but my opinion: High value woman: low N, have any career, slim/in shape High value man: tall, in shape/fit, good career (>300k/yr) For both: - Has your back (your enemy should be their enemy, helps you achieve your goals, etc) - mature (no teenager type toxic passive aggressive behavior and able to communicate well in disagreements) - Fair (willing to contribute fairly towards the household/relationship, so no men who delegates all chores to women) - Honesty - Loyalty

If anyone has to sacrifice their comfort to marry someone, they should not marry or in fact continue to date that person. There are plenty of couples who add to each other's lives without it being monetary. Personally it's not that deep to me, I'll marry someone when I want to tell them that I'm ready to be with them for the rest of my life. But I'm signing a pre-nup of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 03:47 PM

No fucking shit. That's like saying men/women like loyalty. The thing is it only works when the other person finds you attractive. But when the person is attracted to you, you can pretty much do anything, unless you're extremely insecure that you turn them off. So this is useless advice

Am I stupid or do egg whites not make sense? I can get a 16oz egg white for $9, which has 20 servings of 5 grams of protein. I can also get a dozen of eggs for $2, if I just throw out the yolk, each egg has 5g protein. So if I do that with 2 dozens I get 24 servings of egg whites for $4 vs just buying egg whites..?

It's because of the obesity pandemic, check out the data, a higher and higher percentage of the population is overweight/obese. Fitness now signifies that you're doing well financially. Salads and gym are goddam expensive for no reason, and having time to cook your own food is now a privilege.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 05:15 PM

Small boobs/ass, it usually means they're on the slimmer side (a good thing). Also I despise society's standard that big boobs = attractive because women don't have control over how their body distributes fat. It leads to shit like breast implants.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 05:14 PM

Wow, you really got me there. Could you tell me where I said divorce rate and dead bedrooms mean women have it easier? Oh right, people have nothing substantial to say against my original comment, so they just keep going off topic. Great as usual. Or perhaps their reading level is just not there.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 04:53 PM

I don't know why people try to use being in a relationship as some kind of gotcha to my point. Divorce rate is like 50% and r/deadroom is a thing. It's always easy to "be in a relationship" if you're ready and willing to settle. I'm not sure how that pertains to the discussion of women having a easier time being valued by society.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 07:28 AM

Where did I talk about being average? I was talking about being/becoming "high value". It's much much easier for women than it isfor men.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 06:18 AM

Not really, why would I care that people I don't find attractive lust over me? In fact that's a bad thing, everyday I go outside I'd be catcalled by random hobos and fear that they might touch me. Also, I'm not a special snowflake. If I find someone attractive, lots of other women probably find them attractive too, I'd be under immense competition to get them to commit to me. I could easily get someone to have sex with tho. I do envy women for how easy their life is. By that I mean how easy it i…

This is BS. Looks are extremely important. Just because they're not the ONLY thing that matter, doesn't mean that they are not extremely important. I wouldn't rent an apartment without a bathroom, and the bathroom is not the only that matters, I still look at the kitchen, living room, etc. But without a bathroom, the chance of me renting it is 0. Unless, the rent is crazyyyy cheap, (maybe like $400/mo) then I might consider compromising. We can observe this with the many physical traits people l…

Women can work on looks via many ways like staying physically healthy and makeup, style, etc. You can't do much as a man because we are valued differently. For example the main thing is height, if you're short, you're fucked regardless. You can work out and be fit but you'll just appear wider. Not denying that money, fitness, style etc will still help, but it's going to add 1-2 points max.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/23 02:07 AM

The truth is the women that pass on a person like this due to height, were never your target market anyway. People I've met who put others down for something they have no control over (like height) are always unpleasant to be around, let alone to be with for the rest of your life. Also, don't conflict the lack of visibility with low value. For example, if you have a good product but literally nobody hears about it and your sale is 0, doesn't make it a bad product. Hell, given enough visibility, …
