In other news, water is wet.

From my experience, I had to hire a male lawyer (post-divorce) to help clean up what a female lawyer (original divorce lawyer) more or less failed at. To her mild credit, it’s possible her hands were moderately tied by the court’s broken protocols and biases. The male lawyer I hired after did a great job cleaning up how badly mine and my children’s lives got steamrolled in the divorce. Odds are my case is a dark example of how biased and absolutely broken the family courts are. All of their stan…

Not sure. I don’t ask, and mostly, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m actually trying to think of why I should care… ah, indifference. I finally understand the opposite of love is indifference.

Thanks for sharing. Your tale of two types of weekends with your kids resonates a lot.

If you couldn’t be vulnerable with her then without the recourse she chose, what makes you think you can afford to do that now? You damn well can’t afford to open up or clear the air.

Be ready for the abuse card or rape card at all times. You’re guilty until proven innocent. • Setup cameras in your home. • Don’t engage romantically with her ever again. • Move out and get a lawyer on retainer engaged to cover things like abandonment which the mom can burn you for after moving out. Do what you need to for your kid(s) short of reconciling. Trust me - you’re done with that woman and you’ll want to be. It’s hard, I know. Don’t do what I did! My kids’ mom asked me to reconcile, and…

The courts don’t care. My ex was trading sex for drinks & dinner (not even disguising that) while having my kids babysat by an adolescent girl who had allegedly been sexually abused. The courts might care if you, the father, did that, but the mother, no way. In the eyes of the “Family” courts, moms can do no wrong. It’s hard to find a good woman in this day & age.

That’s a tough spot. If you know it needs to end, the sooner you get started with a good plan, the better. Life is too short to be stuck married to a such a nightmare of a person. I can’t see the point of marrying any longer. It’s an antiquated institution which serves no purpose besides causing misery and inordinate amounts of money on the way in and out, and the out is nearly inevitable these days. Marriage is simply the new-age tool many women use to improve their financial lot in life. It’s …

As a man, you can simply get ready to get steamrolled. Best advice that I can give - do what my ex-wife did… you need to set your wife up for failure, make her look bad or at least potentially bad. It’s dishonest, but all that dishonesty worked great for her and the court conveniently doesn’t care about her extra-marital relationships and shady dealings, pawning my kids off with middle school babysitters so she could get drunk and laid lining up her next moron. As much as I feel like an idiotic …

Marriage is its own pyramid scheme… you’re on the bottom of it, and guess what, she’s at the top of it. Good luck, dude. You’re in a world of hurt, sorry to say, but you’re not alone. Some of us are simply further and deeper into getting screwed by this antiquated “union” that most men live to regret doing.

This is more common than you think! A cheating spouse, particularly a cheating wife, wants something “bad” to happen with the husband, particularly if you have kids together. It seems that they want to save face and avoid social judgement; that includes judgement from friends, colleagues, family, and the kids too. After they’ve started sleeping around, they don’t respect you (duh). There may even be a bit of self-loathing on their part. The gaslighting will start shortly thereafter. They’ll try …

Upvote for the laugh... I’ve been trying to also develop a better sense of humor about my failed marriage. I wish that I could crush everything in me that misses her and loves her. It feels like self-loathing... I hate myself for feeling this love for someone who betrayed me so much and so unremorsefully. I need to pull a Kevin Hart and “laugh at my pain.”

Holy fuck, this is a great goddamn post... and I’m not even done reading it yet. Okay, now where was I? 😂 I guess that I’ll have to start from the top again and really let it all sink in!
