A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)And what exactly is wrong in drawing confidence from a positive self-image of yourself coming from you having taken right action to better yourself? It's a band aid. Sure, going to the gym, or whatever, can give you an ego boost and make you feel good. You can gain genuine confidence in your athletic ability that way. Nothing wrong with that. But that isn't self acceptance, doesn't build self confidence, and will might never lead you there. Why would you need to take action if you're already fin… | /r/seduction | 16/06/12 03:41 PM
Need some help with calibration and general social circle adviceTo summarize: You are moving in new social circles, and you feel a sneering, sarcastic, sly vibe from other guys. It doesn't matter who you are, how self assured you are, whether you are flirty, or successful with women: Men make fun of the new guy. Just because he is the new guy. That's enough of a reason. If he takes it well, he is cool. If he doesn't, then he remains the new guy. Forever. As responses are concerned, that depends on the atmosphere: If all that seems to be more or less in good … | /r/seduction | 13/06/12 05:05 PM

| -1 | something i found on r/fitness that fits right here on r/seductionAt least when the fitness people start to get all self critical and talk about happiness. Then it sure does. Not that it happens all that often. | /r/seduction | 13/06/12 04:26 PM |
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)I think we may have won the internet. I never thought I'd see the day... | /r/seduction | 13/06/12 12:22 AM
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)Actually I agree: Just reassessing your current situation isn't enough. But it's a necessary step and should be the first one. If you don't recognize the crap as crap, all "positive" action in the world won't help you. Without first having a close look at the argument: "Exercise isn't worth it for a fat pig like me anyway, my WoW buddies are more important, because they accept me as who I am", there is a certain danger that you might cut the wrong stuff for the wrong reasons. The self assessment… | /r/seduction | 12/06/12 09:38 PM
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)I think the magic doesn't so much lie in doing worthwhile things, but in recognizing worthwhile activities and qualities as such. Doing worthwhile things is something we all do. Recognizing them is thinking, and that's where the art lies. You will be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't do some valuable things for others or at least himself. Just like you say, actions as simple as complimenting someone, or visiting your nan can become a source of self confidence. Still, so many people who do… | /r/seduction | 12/06/12 06:52 PM
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)In my experience shame as a motivator hardly ever works. It is a feeling that causes people to go into hiding, which is not an ideal response in order to induce change. Unshowered fat basement nerds are hardly shameless. Well, I can give even more tangible advice: Throw a frog out of the window. The hearty splat will give you the feeling that you accomplished something. It certainly may sound appealing and effective, but I still think that it's rather bad advice. If you are lacking confidence be… | /r/seduction | 12/06/12 03:48 PM
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)Yes, you are totally right. Actions matter. I just don't like the reduction to only actions matter. The virtues on the other hand we acquire by first having actually practised them That's an interesting section, which highlights pretty well where I disagree with him. Self confidence are the positive feelings and thoughts you have towards yourself. How do you practice self confidence? He advocates an action only approach: Doing things you think you are right is practicing self confidence. That's … | /r/seduction | 12/06/12 03:21 PM
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)I don't even dispute that: Actions certainly do matter a great deal and can make you feel better about yourself. It's just the stance that only your actions define you, that I am critical of. If you are a well practiced procrastinator, such advice can bring you down to new lows: "I have hardly done anything worthwhile today. Since my actions define who I am, I am obviously a worthless pig..." Without fixing such thought patterns first, the advice in the video is probably useless. | /r/seduction | 12/06/12 02:32 PM
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)Those were exactly my thoughts in the beginning: Maybe he just left out some things and focused on what he thought most important? That might be the case. But then we at least severely disagree about what is most important. | /r/seduction | 12/06/12 02:17 PM
A quick (60s) video about what is confidence - simple thoughts, but not necessarily obvious :)I am not so sure about that approach. But let's take it one at a time, shall we? Confidence is the thoughts and feelings you have about yourself. Wonderful. I couldn't have said it any better myself. How do you start liking yourself? Step 1: Realize that you are what you do! Woha. Is your confidence (or lack thereof) a part of you? Yes? Good. Let's revisit the definition then: Confidence is the thoughts and feelings you have about yourself. There is nothing about "doing" in there. You are not wh… | /r/seduction | 11/06/12 09:39 PM
