I mean, i wouldn't want to date anyone who disrespects women.

It depends on the person, I suppose, but it's always important to be sexually compatible, as in having similar expectations and understandings of the what/when/how's of sex. In my relationship sex is very important, not necessarily in quantity but in quality. Physical intimacy doesn't have to be full on sex, though. I love the playful physical intimacy, like butt light slaps and squeezes. If it's important to you, make sure to communicate that to the person you're in or starting a relationship w…

It sounds like the same advice with different attitudes/reasonings, so I guess you're right. I'm a girl and I started dating seriously (as in, dating to get married) when I was 19, so I don't think I can say much more on this topic.

Boys and girls have different difficulties, so it's hard to assess if it would have been easier. I probably wouldn't have been raped, but i would have been bullied for liking ballet and opera. I would have been taken seriously when i said i liked math and probably wouldn't have given up on studying, but I would have probably attempted suicide for being bisexual (I know myself and I know how male bisexuals would/are treated by my close family). I think being male would have been a nightmare, beca…

I don't know how relevant to the actual debate this will be, but as someone who engages in BDSM with a fixed partner (boyfriend of 4.5 years), I fucking hated that book. I didn't read it when it came out, I was 10, but when I finally did, while I understood why people liked it, I couldn't bear it. It really missed when it comes to safety, and yeah, I know that books like that aren't a portrayal of reality, nor should they necessarily be, but I know how hard it is to do this safely and it bugged …

I don't know how to answer this question because it depends on what you mean by good-looking guys. Also, disclaimer, I haven't had sex with many different men. If you mean my type, they tend to be good in bed, but my type isn't everyone's type. I don't really care about height. I don't like those guys with bodies that resemble famous actors like the Hemsworth brothers. I generally prefer men that have some type of strength but don't look like bodybuilders, that have a beard but don't look like t…

I got with my partner when I was 19 and he was 28 or 27, I don't remember exactly, so as long as the girl knew it was nothing serious and there was no grooming involved, I believe it's okay. I would still be wary of it because even though it worked out well for me, I know a lot of girls with different stories. The questions I'd ask would be mostly to check his intentions behind it. I don't like the idea of a partner manipulating a young girl just to fuck her, so if that was the case he would no …

I agree with the title, and that's it. Many people truly don't have the money to spend on paying someone else to cook and clean, and even if they did, it would be a once in a week thing max, meaning they would have to do certain chores to maintain the household anyway and that the person cooking would probably meal prep for the whole week. I don't think you should expect your girlfriend or wife to do the chores on her own, but I do believe that 1) people have their strong and weak areas and 2) t…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/24 08:21 PM

Huh, that's interesting. Everything you listed applies to me, too. It's nice to find someone here who has similar values as mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/24 12:29 AM

I love doing cliche romantic things for my partner, and of course, I love it when he does them as well! It really shouldn't be gendered. May I ask what other things they would do that subvert traditional gender norms?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 11:53 PM

That's so sweet!

I made a normal comment, but i received a message because im not labled as a blue pill, so just in case OP can't see it, i'm copying and pasting it here. "Social gatherings that you enjoy participating in are the way to go. Church, bars, festivals, shows, book club, gym, dance class, cooking workshop, dnd play parties, etc. It all depends on what type of places you usually go to. Besides that, you could ask for your friends to set you up. I date someone an ex friend of mine introduced me to, tho…

My aunt hates receiving flowers (though not flowers themselves when they are in nature) because she associates it with death, unfortunately.

This is so important! Being in a relationship only makes sense when you feel valued, loved, and cared for. If you're not happy, what's the point?

Me too! I had no idea how to properly cook (by this i mean, i could make rice and fry an egg or make a decent chicken, but nothing special) when I met my boyfriend. To be fair, I was 19 living with 5 roommates, and he had already been married before, so we had very different experiences. Luckily for me, he's a great cook and taught me a lot, so now I can proudly say I make delicious food.

That's fair enough. I think it can be substituted for chocolate, as other posters suggested, or even massages and doing chores the other person dislikes doing. It's all about making each other happier.

I'm so sorry this happened to you, no one deserves to be cheated on. Hopefully, your next relationship will be better, and your partner will be loyal. Best of luck to you!

I usually give my boyfriend a dark chocolate bar with port wine filling when I want to give him something sweet, but honestly I prefer Nutella too.

That's so cute! I absolutely agree, the thought process of "this is pretty, I should give it to my partner" is what makes me enjoy it more than the pretty thing on itself.

I'm stealing this idea for sure!! My bf likes flowers (as stated in the post), but I think he would love the idea of sample size whiskeys and bourbons mixed with jerky sticks. (edited to correct what my autocorrect corrected)

A lot of people that said they'd like it mentioned this, and I agree that it's about the feeling of being appreciated and cared for more so than the flowers.

Yeah, if you're not into any of that, that's totally fine. On another note, as a non-american, I would really like to see if hooters is like the movies portray it.

I feel like it doesn't exactly repel women, but it does leave a gap where a male role model figure should be. I mean, we can have a role model figure with people we interact only parasocially with, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but it's also important to have a personal figure like that too imo, be that a father, a male teacher, an uncle, etc. I have a boyfriend that was raised by a single mother, but he did have a male teacher who he was close with that was a role model for hi…

I get what you are saying. What I am saying is that if you cannot find a middle ground or activities to do before PIV sex that feels good for both of you, you are likely sexually incompatible. If OP wants someone who just rolls over and takes it and their partner needs more than that, yes, they could also be sexually incompatible. My whole point is that if it feels like a chore, there's something wrong. I can't fix every "what if", because it changes from relationship to relationship, person to …

I am aware of that. Regardless, unless you want to be "there" with your hand, sex is between two different people, usually with different libidos and desires. It's not a chore, it's part of sex to do stuff that gives pleasure to the other party. Again, just find something that will get her in the mood that you also enjoy. I'm not going to be super explicit here, but there are MANY options for both vanilla and more spicy couples. To me at least, it feels good to give pleasure, and I'm sorry, but …

I was about to comment this. Introverted isn't a negative, extroverted isnt a positive. They're quite neutral.

I mean, i just gave a few options, pick something that feels sexy for both of you. That was the gist of it.

Okay, first of all, there's the "turning sex into a chore" aspect of it, which a lot of people that commented here have talked about already. Secondly, why not try to create a sensual atmosphere instead of saying women should just do it if they're neutral to it? Light some candles, put on a romantic movie or music, send some sexy texts, or try talking about sex beforehand, just set the mood. Instead of just trying to initiate PIV sex, tell her you want to eat her out. Honestly, most of the time,…

This response is amazing to read. I think the "nice guy" thing is exactly that, a disingenuous kindness, which usually comes from a lack of confidence. The fact you recognised this in yourself and decided to change it, to be more yourself, is very attractive, not only because it means you are becoming more confident, but also because it shows humility and capacity of growth. I personally consider this a green flag, and I wish you all the best in your future and current relationship!

I think the fact he never had a girlfriend would bother a bit more than the virgin thing, because I know how hard it is to learn how to be in a relationship, especially when your partner has had way more experiences than you and therefore has higher expectations than you. I know that because I started dating my current boyfriend when I was 19, and he was 27 and had already been married before. It is VERY hard to adjust to being in a relationship when you have never done it before. Regardless of …

A "real woman" would understand that the choice of having children and how to have children (biologically, through surrogacy, IVF, adoption, etc) is a CHOICE, and it doesn't define anyone's gender. (Accidentally posted on the off topic/joke/puns comment before)

I think the best move is to actually have a conversation in scenarios where they aren't drunk. I mean, drunk people can be fun, but when you're looking to create a meaningful connection, approaching someone in a coffee shop is much better. But, then again, I don't know. I've been out of the game for years, and I met the love of my life at 19, so I could be completely wrong. All I know for sure is that I wish you the best, and just don't hit on women while they're working because it's not usually…

Thank you for being so kind. Honestly, that's refreshing. People are always saying how reddit is a cesspool, but I've had a bunch of people be nicer here than they are irl. Also, the woman you described sound fucking nuts. Flashing someone is already a red flag, and then following up by saying that? What the fuck. See, something I think is important is cultural differences. I'm Brazilian, and now I live in Europe. Whenever I see men talking about this particular issue, they're mostly from the US…

I get the apprehension because I was assaulted after saying no. That didn't stop me from saying yes to other men, but it did make me start saying "I have a boyfriend" instead of just saying "no", even when I was single. I'm not using this as an excuse to be an asshole to men who do approach women, but simply saying "no" can be dangerous. I won't be mean or shame anyone for asking me out, though i must say I personally would hate to be approached by a client while I'm working as I would find it a…

I think what women dislike is the way men approach them. Personally, I have no issues if a man strikes up a conversation with me. I hooked up with (and then started dating) my current boyfriend after we chatted for 3 hours about things that went beyond "you're cute/hot, wanna go on a date/fuck?". I find him extremely attractive and charming, but if he, at the time a stranger, approached me just asking me out without knowing anything about me, I would have said no. I can't speak for others, but I…

Right? I mean, even if you think about it from the point of view of what benefits you the most or requires less effort, it's just better to be respectful.

Absolutely agree with your definition of loyalty. I would say I've also been loyal to my boyfriend (4.5 years) and a handful of true friends. I do consider these people family, though, so idk.

I'm a woman, and I'm telling you I think men deserve respect and are entitled to basic decency, just as women are. If you want to ignore my beliefs, that's fine.

Personally, I think everyone, regardless of gender, deserves respect and are entitled to basic decency, which to me would be not making their lives purposely worse or intentionally hurting them. This is the way I try to live my life. If someone doesn't adhere to my basic principles, that's fine, i can't make anyone do anything, I'll just avoid them as best as I can and, if forced to interact, I will treat them the same way they treat me. Basically, I don't really care what people think others ar…

I was confused about this, actually. I'm a switch but mostly submissive woman in the bedroom, but if anyone, my partner included, wants me to be agreeable to every and anything he says and does, they're shit outta luck. Anyone worth my time has to be able to have a discussion with me on any matter in which we have diverging opinions. Sometimes I'll concede, sometimes the other person will, but if they can't have a conversation without it ending with "I'm a man, and men should lead so you should …
