I find this to be an American thing, I’ve heard they’re not taught geography over there

Don’t move in with him. I’m surprised Americans pay up to 20k in income taxes. Never knew it could get that high!

Also no one said anything thing about proving your worth to LVM but more so making him pay for what he did. He doesn’t get to getaway with what he’s done while you scramble to find somewhere else to live. That doesn’t seem fair to me. If anything, doing nothing because you think you’re above pettiness is enabling his behavior

I am not here to assess whether she is HV or not as it is not my place to judge her value. You’re going off on a tangent and making assumptions over the lives of people you don’t know also. You do sound inexperienced through the way you’re presenting your logic. Having a job doesn’t mean you earn a good living wage to support oneself without additional support, again we don’t know this woman. The world does not live by the FDS handbook as you do. These things sound good in theory but they don’t …

I didn’t see where she mentioned having a job and having a “social life” doesn’t guarantee that those people you hang out or party with will come to your aid in times of need. Ever heard the term fair weather friends? Like I said before, we don’t know her whole story. That aside, this is not a tug of war though it’s not ideal. You sound very inexperienced but at some point in life everyone messes up even HV men. I personally believe that you have to do what you can to remind people you’re not th…

Duh! At the end of the day fds principles are not a magic wand that solves everything. Some situations are nuanced and they require working with what is at your disposal which is what this woman is doing. We don’t know her whole story

That’s all fine and great in theory but it is not a lot of women’s reality. Not everyone has the same privileges you do, this should go without saying. Let them do what works for them and you do what works for you.

Does the fds handbook come with funds and security? Where’s my copy?

It’s so creepy how literally EVERYONE was in on this coverup, makes you wonder what else would they be willing to cover up. She can’t trust these people. She needs to run. I mean a whole child. A whole human being and no one said a thing and she’s been with this guy for years? Something’s not right. Just thinking about it gives me chills

This is freakishly similar to someone I dated after college. Oh my God it’s as if they have the same playbook or something. I’m disgusted rn

Oh my God that last line is so SPOT ON! I wish FDS would create a flair for posts regarding vetting female friends because it’s so key!

Sorry that happened to you. Women need to be careful around other women too, men aren’t the only potential threats, just because someone has a vagina doesn’t mean they’re an ally. Everyone is always looking out for their ‘number one’ i.e. themselves and for some people that means tearing others down to prop themselves up. I’m all for sisterhood and women empowerment and everything but always, always, always watch your own back cus you never know

Their dynamic doesn’t appeal to me personally but I sorta understand her. She comes off as the sort of person who needs to be the one in control, it seems like she’s assumed the more masculine role in their relationship, like the one leading. This could be as a result of an unhealed childhood wound or something but I think this is what works for her right now in this phase of her life. Not justifying the fwb and open marriage but I have to say not all women want to have sex with only one man for…

You’re missing the point, it’s not the level of experience that’s the issue here, it’s that younger predators are trying to profit off of this notion that older men are ‘the danger’. They’re pretending to “warn” girls about older predators but you never see them condemning their actions. People seem to be oversimplifying a very complex issue. Is a 20 year old predator more entitled to vulnerable women his age just because he lacks the experience of a 40 year old predator?

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe that younger men are spreading this narrative because they’re finding it hard to get girls their own age themselves. I agree it’s a red flag when older men ONLY go after women much younger than them but these younger guys aren’t so great either, a predator at 40 was once a predator at 20, it’s not the age that’s the issue here. Age doesn’t suddenly make a person more predatory. These younger men are in on it too, they don’t care about these young gi…

Brilliantearth.com is a good place to find nice affordable rings too. You can pick the cut, size, design and everything, not exactly under $300 but you won’t be breaking the bank for a good sized lab grown diamond if you prefer conflict-free gems

Yeah male “friends” always have a hidden agenda in my experience, every single last one of them! Also why I don’t trust guys with a ton of female friends. You’re lucky you have good female friends tho

Thank you! I’ve been wanting to say this for a while now but I couldn’t find the right words! I keep seeing “jokes” on Twitter from men saying how much they love that this pandemic is making women lower their standards and how “oh she’ll definitely text back because she’s bored and alone at home”, these low effort men are loving it! Ladies, don’t give in!

I thought incel too at first but it’s too ‘on the nose’, that’s what they want you to think. Notice the use of phrases like “so-called beautiful woman” and “unappetizing enough as it is”, these are not the words of a straight man. See how he tries to subtly signal to other men that women are gross, it’s almost like he’s saying “vagina bad, pick me, pick me instead” 😂.He’s uncomfortable with his own sexuality and wants to take his frustrations out on women. He’s nitpicking because he won’t admit …

Yup! I do this too! Emotional intimacy/connections are so important to me that’s why I like to subtly test them as early as possible to see how well they handle it. If he can’t be there for me emotionally then sorry he’s not HV
