100%. Also - can I steal your flair?

Right, this is just reinforcing the trope that men have no self-control unless it’s imposed on them. Isn’t a good look I remember hearing this rhetoric growing up, men are different, they can’t help themselves, you have to make sure you aren’t tempting them, etc. Stop putting the blame/responsibility solely on women
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 07:27 PM

Is it mostly about weight for Amy Schumer? Aside from her weight idk how men wouldn’t see her as more than a 5. She’s got great hair, pretty face, big boobs, etc

What respect do they earn, outside of other “bad alphas”?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/24 02:15 AM

To be fair an armed cop shooting an unarmed civilian with their hands up saying “don’t shoot” doesn’t inspire much respect

True, there have been studies that show that dark triad types are disproportionally attracted to the law enforcement field

I’m in the US so I’m not super familiar with European politics. But yeah hopefully Sharia Law doesn’t propagate, that’s bad news

I’m not partisan either - It’s more of a “lesser of two evils”situation. Do I vote for the guy who would rather I die than receive care for a non-viable fetus or the guy who supports my bodily autonomy but has questionable immigration policies? Like I mentioned in another comment, it’s a no-win situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 02:56 AM

The women who go for this kind of set up where they must “submit and obey” are ones with little other choices. This is why these men seek women abroad, in countries where women are either culturally programmed to be meek and submissive, or are so poor they will do anything to improve their quality of life

Just because no one identifies as it doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Once homosexuality stops being demonized (like most places in the West) boom people admit they are homosexuals
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 01:29 AM

I don’t understand how this situation is supposed to be fixed. And people wonder why younger generations aren’t as involved in voting/politics. It seems to be a no-win situation

I have the same sentiment. Why are women and nonbinary people supporting a culture that hates women and nonbinary people. That sounds like asking for trouble to me

They are sorely mistaken
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 05:49 PM

They definitely won’t be sexual competition, western women don’t want to be with men who view women as lesser and want them to be subjugated. Which many male immigrants are due to their culture
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 05:21 PM

I get what you’re saying. I was coming at it from a “what should I do to attract women” vs “what should i do in this situation with a woman I’m already involved with”. I agree male advice might be better in that case
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 04:10 PM

Fair enough lol. I’m RP because while I have not been particularly privileged (although I guess that’s subjective) I have had enough experience and value equality and thus think they have some interesting things to say, even if sometimes reductionist or limited to black-and-white thinking

Is the goal to entice women who might be attracted to that? Or to make incel-types mad lol

You have to decide what’s for your own benefit. If you want to get a ton of women, or even one woman, you do have to at least consider what they are looking for and decide if you want to cater to that. If a woman asks a guy what he finds attractive in women, and he says I like submissive, feminine women who will clean the house and give me kids, it’s up to the woman to decide if that’s something she wants to settle for or not. What men find attractive is not necessarily in a woman’s best interes…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 07:39 PM
17

Isn’t that kind of the point though? If you are asking for advice for women, would you rather a woman tell you honestly what they find attractive or just tell you what you want to hear?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 07:11 PM

Wholeheartedly agree. The women who jump in to defend male bullies are likely bullies themselves

Girls are expected to innately have social skills, so when they don’t they’re the ones who are blamed. When boys don’t have good social skills it’s “well boys will be boys”. It’s really messed up and we wonder why these kids grow up to not view men/women as equals Sorry that you had to deal with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 03:45 PM
8

Yeah I was that girl who “didn’t interact well with others”. Kids pick up on it and take advantage. Teachers blame you. It’s a snowball effect. I also feel bad for her
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:37 PM

Yes! They tend to be well-rounded, interesting people for sure
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:25 PM

Looks are superficial. Some people have nothing going on beneath a beautiful facade. That gets boring pretty fast
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:23 PM

Yeah this is something that I think men tend to want to scoff at, but being charming or having a great personality is very attractive. It can make you overlook a lot of things, physical appearance included I’ve liked very questionable and objectively ugly but charming men Same
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:12 PM

I get what you’re saying. By abstaining from contributing I mean having kids and feeling any type of loyalty or commitment towards my employer beyond the bare minimum job description. Enough to keep me independent financially I think the system will inevitably collapse, more and more young adults are going to college and not being satisfied with a minimum wage despite having “higher education”. Many people my age and younger likely won’t be able to retire and there won’t be enough long-term care…

Thanks for sharing. I get the most hate from women in particular, it seems, IRL. Or sometimes people seem kind of offended. Like my choice is invalidating their own, which is silly
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 08:20 PM

I’d rather abstain from contributing to a corrupt system than participate just because the people at the top will be fine either way

Could you elaborate on how it posits choice in a vacuum? And how it neglects science of human behavior?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 07:10 PM

That’s because society generally looks down on/disapproves of adults without families, and women especially without children. Referring to yourself as childfree is telling the person you’re talking to, I’m this way by choice, don’t bother trying to convince me I’ll want them someday, it’s not too late for me, etc. Whereas referring to yourself as “childless” might insinuate you would like to have them, which sometimes leads to pity or encouragement or sympathy, which is understandably unwanted f…

I feel like in his ideal world everyone’s having babies at 16, skipping college, and working at a Tesla factory for minimum wage to desperately support their baby This is exactly what rich people encouraging the masses to procreate want.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 06:56 PM
3

People who are childfree do generally view having children as undesirable. That doesn’t invalidate people who choose to have kids, though, as people are allowed to value different things and make different life choices
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 06:36 PM
2

Fair enough. I don’t understand though, how having choices could not be empowering? Like being empowered generally means having autonomy and control over your life and choices. Women who do not have the choice of whether they get married/have kids or not are unequivocally disempowered
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 06:29 PM
5

As a childfree woman, I am genuinely curious about your experience - have you encountered a lot of flack/pushback/disapproval for not having kids throughout your life?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 06:21 PM
23

Because less people = less consumers/workers = less money for guys at the top. They don’t care that these people can’t afford to even rent an apartment or might potentially be terrible parents. They don’t care about the impact on the environment or the kids born into terrible circumstances that end up as criminals, addicts, mentally ill, victimized or dead. They just need more meat for the grind
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 06:18 PM
5

What bothers you about the term childfree? It’s useful because while the term “childless” insinuates a loss or lack of something and can be used by people who want kids but can’t have them for whatever reason, “childfree” is more empowering and reflects the situation more accurately. You are literally free of children As far as having choices, I wouldn’t want to live in a society without as many choices. If somehow our society became even less free (as it is starting to head that way with loss o…

I used to be pretty into MBTI, that’s interesting that you find male = intuitive and female = sensor, the research seems to be that the majority of males tend to be thinkers, where women tend to be feelers. Intuitives in general are rarer but there doesn’t seem to be a correlation between intuitive males vs females. The impression I have is that sensors, SJs in particular, who are more likely to be inclined to follow cultural traditions and be bound by duty, would want to have kids. But that’s j…

That makes sense. I just assumed an abusive gf would add to the stress. But I guess the intimacy would be comforting to some
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 01:40 AM
4

Being in abusive relationships tends to erode sense of self. I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily beneficial if you want to then go on to find a healthy relationship. Healthy people want to be in relationships with other healthy people. You can see people who have stayed in long term relationships with abusive partners that they tend to become shells of their former selves. And it can become hard to leave for some, despite having a desire to do so That’s not to victim-blame, as you aren’t necessari…

What is the “eat, pray, love” mindset? That’s not something I’ve heard of I’m not a super-feminist, if anything I consider myself as egalitarian. If a person (man or woman) feels fulfilled and gets their sense of purpose from having a family, more power to them. People are individuals though, and it’s okay that that path isn’t for everyone I know my strengths and what I’m capable of providing for the world, and procreating isn’t one of them. If anything, isn’t it better to realize that and live …

I think many people are kind of past the point of caring. There’s only so much you can do when fixing problems isn’t profitable
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 11:03 PM
4

I don’t have anything inherently against procreation in itself, as long as the parents want to be good, healthy parents and have the finances to make sure their children have a good life, but that is not the reality for the vast majority of people. You can look at the state of mental health, poverty, crime, addiction and homelessness to see that I too try to do the most good I am capable of, but having kids will just not be one of those contributions for me, personally. I’m most able to do good …

I am not a utilitarian hedonist (which most modern women seem to be) I mean, we’re all stuck here for a while so might as well enjoy it to its fullest lol I don’t necessarily think it’s right to have kids and expect them to deal with all of the problems that they didn’t cause that are virtually unfixable. I’m not having kids because (on top of simply not wanting to) I think it’s the greatest gift to them
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 10:26 PM
3

That’s really interesting. I know a lot of women have urges like that too, it’s not something I’ve personally ever felt though, and getting older and having a better understanding of people and the world has only cemented my revulsion to it lol
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 10:09 PM

Dude my first boyfriend literally said kids were a must for him because he wanted a “legacy” What is with you guys and legacies? I know once I die no one will remember me after like a generation and I’m cool with that as long as I’ve enjoyed my life

That’s part of the problem, yelling and incessant nagging is emotional abuse, regardless of whatever sexist complacent opinions older gens have to say about it. It’s extremely unhealthy and the discourse surrounding it needs to change
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 08:28 PM
7

Thank you for sharing this. I’m very sorry about your brother. I have seen men self-delete from emotional abuse from their SOs as well. Whatever gender you are, you have worth and it’s alright to love yourself outside of a relationship

I cannot argue with that
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 08:14 PM

The gender difference for this is really crazy, I remember learning that I was supposed to save myself for the guy I was in love with and when I learned guys were trying to lose their virginity BEFORE they found “the one” I felt pretty jipped lol
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 07:38 PM
2

You make some good points. Would rising up be a bad thing? What would that look like? Like I imagine not accepting abuse and perhaps choosing MGTOW or demanding more services for male victims of abuse I guess a worse case scenario would be like a Clockwork Orange type situation
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 07:34 PM

I get your point, but toxic femininity also exists. I guess it’s just semantics of toxic femininity/masculinity vs internalized misogyny/misandry

This is a really good point. Thanks for sharing your perspective

The example from Rampage really gets to me - I kind of had the same experience as an older sister, my sister was allowed to scream at me and steal my stuff and fight but if I fought back I would be reprimanded and just had to take it because I was supposed to be mature and an “example” for her. I know it’s not the same thing, but I feel I can kind of relate in some small way It’s really sad that all of this toxic masculinity is still being perpetuated. I sincerely hope this changes in the future…

That makes sense, but to me it just kind of seems like women don’t mind being alone as much as men do. Maybe I’m just biased though
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 06:22 PM
1

You would think that attitude would have changed by now as we’re supposed to be becoming more progressive. It’s a really messed up world we live in and I hope things change for the better
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 06:20 PM
15

It’s funny that you mention reproduction because as a women who has met zero potential partners who didn’t want kids, I genuinely wonder if men would prioritize reproduction so much if they were the ones who got pregnant and had to give birth and be primarily responsible for taking care of it The gap between childfree men and childfree women is crazy
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 06:17 PM
-4

But mental pain can come from emotional/verbal abuse from a significant other as well. I understand that loneliness is harmful too though. And that’s just really messed up. This is why toxic masculinity isn’t something that should be laughed off, and both men and women can be culprits for perpetuating it
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 06:11 PM
10

Good point. I have never wanted kids but I know some women who have kids hoping it will make the guy stay, or they don’t want to work so they become a SAHM. Definitely not guaranteed, and then they’re in a world of trouble if it doesn’t work out like that

This is strange logic. Nobody goes into a marriage thinking they’ll get divorced. That’s like not getting car insurance because you’re not planning on getting into a car accident
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/24 06:22 PM

Agreed. I’m genuinely worried for the future of women’s rights. When I talk to people about this I get looked at like I’m paranoid and blowing it out of proportion, that it’s 2024 and that would never happen. It can and will if we’re not vigilant

I’m sure you’re already aware of this but having kids is a huge responsibility mentally, emotionally, financially, etc. It’s already hard enough without the mental health conditions you described having (depression, anxiety, OCD), but having a kid in those conditions will likely make life unnecessarily difficult for you and your child. Definitely not something to be taken lightly Unless you are expecting your wife to do the majority of the childrearing?

Men promote what is beneficial or appealing to THEM. That doesn’t make it more respectable or inherently valuable. And there’s no reason why women should have to model themselves to cater to what’s appealing to men, if it’s not what they want or is in their best interest

Research also shows that parents often treat their sons and daughters differently. Children usually start performing gender roles around ages 2-3, and these are learned in the home and then reinforced by school teachers and other children. I'm not talking about biological factors like strength, endurance, etc, I'm talking about how women and men perform their gender towards the outside world. How we dress, talk, are expected to behave and conduct ourselves in different situations. These things a…

Life itself doesn’t make moral judgements, it just is. You not being able to give birth isn’t oppression. There is no one that made the decision to make you that way, you just happened to be born with XY chromosomes by chance. Humans have the ability to reason and make moral judgements. If you, a government, or a society, makes a choice that is oppressive and sexist, that is a choice they have made that they are accountable for. Woman aren’t born “feminine”, that’s something that’s learned throu…

As a woman, I had sex in college just to lose my virginity because I felt kind of “weird” that I hadn’t yet. I still have no idea why media acts as if it’s the end-all be-all, it really didn’t do much for me. I wonder about men though, because it seems like men are easily manipulated using sex, which you think wouldn’t be as common if it weren’t that big of a deal for them

Right. If you believe in equality between men and women you cannot enforce women being in social roles where they are in any way subservient to men. It’s one thing to make that choice on a personal scale, such as deciding to be a stay at home mom, presenting socially in a traditionally “feminine” way through style of dress, mannerisms, or actions, or choosing to have kids, as examples. But insinuating that those things are somehow morally “right” and limiting women’s choices to these options is …

What’s disenchanting is the fact that the qualities that men find valuable are superficial and aren’t due to any virtue or skill on the woman’s part. I’m aware this isn’t something that’s exclusive to men, which is why I’m really just not a fan of most people in general and is the reason I consider myself redpilled

I don’t think you can really make that comparison - the situation when hiking is a woman encountering a man that’s unknown to her. Ideally you’d get to know the women first before deciding to have a child together, so you would be able to assess her trustworthiness over time. That’s not to say it couldn’t happen even with someone you trust, but less likely based on how well you know the person

I mean yeah teachers for sure shouldn’t rape their students, but I’m not sure how requesting that teachers wear body cams is equivalent to women being cautious around strange men in isolated places
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/24 10:54 PM

Nobody is arguing that all men are dangerous. Some men are. We see this time and time again in the news. There is literally no way of knowing if a strange man is dangerous or not. It’s not illogical to be cautious

I don’t really know the statistics, but I know plenty of men and women who aren’t looking for anything serious, or are but don’t want to get married, or want to get married but don’t want kids. Maybe back in the day women were more keen on getting married/having kids asap but I don’t think there’s such a big gender divide for that now (I’m also on the cusp of Millenial/Gen Z so it might be different for different generations, also probably more prevalent for people in religious circles, which is…

What do you define as hideous looking? To be honest I haven’t met a ton of guys I would define as absolutely horrendous looking. I’m pretty average like most people and I tend to go for/attract guys that are also pretty average. A lot of guys that maybe don’t take great care of themselves (think the guys that don’t shower, are overweight, neckbeards) also don’t tend to have sparkling personalities, from what I’ve noticed. Right it’s a time limit for initial attraction, but assuming you want to be with the same person for life, and are not going to just dump her for someone younger and more attractive when she gets old, it’s a valid concern Since looks fade, love based on looks isn’t unconditional. I would argue love based on personality traits is more “unconditional” since those tend to be more steady over time

Idk I’ve dated/known guys that were adamant about getting married/having kids. It’s very important for some. I know it’s just my personal experience, but I still think it just depends on the person, and can go both ways

What happens when she gets old, or gets into an accident and needs a skin graft, or is in a fire and has 3rd degree burns over half her body, etc. I asked the same thing to another guy a while ago on this sub when he stated that beauty/youth was the primary factor of attraction for men. His reply was “I don’t know, why don’t you research it if you’re so interested? 🤷🏼‍♀️” so he actually didn’t have an answer. Idk just doesn’t seem well thought out to me

This is kind of what decreases my interest in men, I’m pretty proud of my work ethic, intelligence, creativity, independence, confidence, etc… and when I was younger and more naive thought these qualities would attract someone who values those qualities in me. I go for runs alone a lot, and I’ve been surprised at the audacity some men have to stop me while I’m running and try to talk to me. And how pushy they are too. Some men will not take no for an answer, even if it’s in front of other people, so I can only imagine what they would do when there’s no witnesses. A sexual predator or serial killer with at least minimal IQ and is not experiencing some kind of psychosis is not going to attack anyone on the bus, at work, at a restaurant, or in public with witnesses. That’s why the question is would you rather encounter a man or bear while hiking, not at an amusement park

Right, I don’t understand why that’s a hard concept to grasp. It’s kind of like not wanting to walk around outside while there’s lightning. Yes getting struck by lightning is extremely rare, but it does happen and it would be a bit irresponsible or just oblivious to ignore that fact

The girls in half of these “no-makeup” photos are wearing makeup. Many women still wear some highlighter/foundation/mascara or some type of lip plumper even if they don’t have a full face with the full brows, dark eyeshadow, bright lipstick, etc.

I agree with this, it seems like everyone in college was already trying to nail down the person they would eventually marry and have kids with. All of my friends from college are already married (25-30), and about half have kids or are expecting. Most couples I knew in college were serious and knew they would be getting married shortly after they graduated. Also Midwestern, college-educated, majority homeowners, also most some type of religious background but not practicing. I’m sure it’s possib…

I don’t necessarily think it’s a what women vs men want thing, I think it’s more of a human nature thing. Once something becomes too easy or available it’s viewed as less desirable/of less value. The types of women that want simps want a man that is easy to control and will not leave her despite how she treats him. It’s the same with the types of guys who want overly-agreeable, doormat women. These types of people are the ones that want the other to be emotionally vulnerable, possibly codependen…

When OP is referring to “nice” women, I assume what he’s thinking of is a woman who isn’t mean or abusive, or is genuinely kind. I agree women who describe themselves as “nice” and complain that men only want “sluts” or “bitches” are not nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/24 10:55 PM

See I read this and don’t necessarily see a “nice guy” I see someone that potentially has low self-esteem and lacking in self-respect. When that’s what you put out there, that’s how you’re going to get treated, as unfair as it is. Especially putting the woman’s needs ahead of your own. People who put other’s needs above their own is doormat behavior and is a red flag even for kind, empathetic people because it’s actually manipulation disguised as something socially acceptable. I never made the argument that people don’t look at men. My point was I was a child when this, as well as numerous other instances of being sexualized, happened. I have heard so many women who have the same experiences, of being sexualized throughout their childhoods, by adult men. And then women are blamed for it for just being women and being “attractive” to men. Yeah, I think it’s pretty understandable to adopt the mindset that men are predatory and see women as sexual objects if that’s been …

Really well put. A lot of women generally put in a lot of effort, even if they aren’t necessarily body-dysmorphic, because that’s what they’ve been taught pretty much since birth - your value is determined primarily by your looks So when a guy expects a woman with model-tier looks but doesn’t put much effort in himself, it’s a little insulting

No self-respecting, intelligent woman would willingly “submit” to their husband (if we’re talking about just day-to-life). Unless they had no other choice. Which is fine if that’s what you want, but what you’re not going to get is a woman who loves and respects you as a human. Love and respect go both ways. I’m American but was raised Catholic and definitely understand the Catholic guilt thing haha I don’t really know how prevalent open relationships are, but I wonder how common it is too. I’ve known a couple of ordinary-seeming couples (we’re all in our 20s) through work or friends of friends that have revealed they’re open. They’re not even really that left-leaning or “non-conforming” in other ways either which makes it interesting

A lot of the men on this subreddit are so obsessed with the 80/20 rule and all of the chads hogging women that they are unwilling to even entertain any other topics of conversation You’re right though, ethical non-monogamy is a trend that both parties consent to, and it’s different from cheating. Would you mind linking the evidence that higher levels of neuroticism lead to more masking behavior in women with autism vs men? If anything I think higher neuroticism would be a symptom rather than a cause. I’ve seen a lot of evidence that masking does lead to anxiety/depression/exhaustion in individuals with autism, but none that point to neuroticism as the reason for masking

It’s wrong because when you are generalizing you are operating on biases rather than responding to the individual person who is in front of you. Like for example generalizing that women are pure/need to be taken care of. Look how well that’s worked out for a lot of men. Also doesn’t really serve women if they want to be respected
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/24 03:25 AM

When did I say men should reject autistic women? Like I said I don’t think there’s anything wrong with finding particular traits cute, but I do think it’s important to not generalize Also you forgot to add the last line before I edited my post, which was that I don’t necessarily agree with it but I do kind of understand the mindset. Also deleted that part because I don’t think it was actually very supportive of my point

I’ve noticed the same thing. It’s only acceptable to be different to the degree that it doesn’t disrupt the status quo or make anyone feel threatened/uncomfortable in any way. For some I think it’s also more about appearing and being known as “accepting” than actually being so
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/24 02:38 AM

I’ve never been diagnosed but I suspect I may be on the spectrum to some degree. I have been diagnosed with ADHD tho I identify with pretty much everything you said, also have been accused of being a “pick me” for not having typical “girlie” interests/hobbies/mannerisms and for having a more direct communication style

/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/24 01:53 AM

Agreed, women are under diagnosed due to higher expectations for fitting into the group for girls vs boys, plus women typically displaying higher emotional intelligence which leads to more successful masking. This is specifically about the copper iud, which isn’t hormonal. All other types of iuds are hormonal Also IUDs aren’t right for everyone. In some cases they can puncture the uterine lining and worse cases puncture other organs like the small intestine. I’m attracted to guys who aren’t afraid to show their emotional side/be open about what they’re feeling. Everyone has emotions. The problem when you’re taught to bury them is that they come out in unexpected and often uncontrollable ways. A guy who is comfortable with themselves and their emotions is someone who I can trust and be open with myself. I will say I’m not one to be very open with my emotional side to it’s very refreshing when a guy is like this

You wouldn’t be on both an iud and the pill, that would be redundant lol. That’s like encouraging someone to wear two condoms because you think it’s safer. I would recommend doing more research on women’s reproductive health before making judgements or suggestions

Sure but you can be extremely conscientious and still get pregnant. It happens. It’s possible on an IUD, which is considered one of the most effective forms of birth control, and it especially dangerous for both the baby and the mother if it happens

In my previous relationship I experienced abuse and this was essentially also my experience. I didn't really interact with the police or charities or anything, but this is the message society as a whole gave me. If a woman is emotionally abusive, its assumed that it comes from you, a man, having done something to deserve it. You don't deserve that. I'm really sorry that happened to you. For me personally, when it comes time to pay the bill and the server asks is this separate or together? I immediately say “separate” that kind of eliminates the song and dance. I was suggesting that implementation of left-leaning policies would create a society in which it would be easier for them to get laid. And that perhaps voting conservative is counterintuitive to their goals. However a lot of people have pointed out this is not the case, and that most of the men here are more interested in relationships rather than casual sex

Yeah “enjoy the decline” just reeks of bitterness. Following them around, screaming at them, etc. But then if he raises his voices/is reacting to the abuse, she goes into victim mode, and he gets labeled as the abuser. It was a scenario I actually saw pretty often (not always the case but often). It was actually pretty unsettling. What was more unsettling was the “you go …

I’m honestly shocked by the amount of guys on here that seem to think that most women would be totally fine with sharing a guy with someone else. It honestly seems like it’s trolling at this point, that women would be okay with hareming for 1% guy. I don’t care how rich or how hot. That the belief seems to be so widespread is wild

Sorry, I’m from the US so I’m coming at it from that perspective lol. Women’s shelter’s are another issue entirely, I’m talking about adults that have some type of mental illness/substance use disorder so severe it disables them from ever having a “real” job or living unsupervised in some fashion. Like schizophrenia, severe personality disorders, bipolar disorder, previously addicted to crack/meth etc. The male/female ratio is about even. In the vast majority of these cases the disorder was a re…

that’s also the only legal thing required of a women who reproduces Apart from the body-destroying, hormone-derailing process of giving birth to it. Also if a women didn’t get her kids new clothes, give them food, make sure they attend school she would be indicted for child neglect I don’t think there are any “unplanned” pregnancies anyway I guess stay in your little dream world

I see what you’re saying but plenty of women are in the workforce and also pay taxes. Not just men. And I said this in another post but you might be paying for the abortions/BC now, but what you’re saving yourself from later is medicaid, food stamps, subsidized housing, etc for the impoverished single mom/kid. Also if you think single women take most from taxes, you should work in community mental health. These are adults with severe mental illness/substance use disorders, who are a huge drain o…

Consider yourself downloaded I wouldn’t argue with that, men who are against abortion likely don’t have much concern for women’s lives or well-being, more about their ability to get theirs. Which I guess is fair, gotta look out for yourself, but it’s not going to be very attractive to women
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 06:47 AM

You’re not wrong about needing to commit. Although, I have worked with a few single moms who didn’t seem in any particular hurry to get remarried lol Some women do want to commit, but don’t need to. Especially if they don’t want kids. But it’s wrong to assume women don’t want companionship for companionships sake, and actually do want to settle down with one person. They just aren’t on a specific time table because they don’t have to worry about biological clocks lol

Roe vs Wade was overturned because some conservative men do not like the idea of women having sexual freedom. It’s about control. Simple as that Who do you think will be paying for the government assistance for the unwanted children that occurred because of lack of birth control options/inaccess to abortion? For the Food stamps, Medicaid, subsidized public housing. For the government-paid mental health treatment that will likely be required if the child’s life is bad enough (I used to work in co…

Blind trust is not necessarily a good thing imo. Why do you think people who are naturally trusting get taken advantage of so easily? People in families do because it’s usually in their best interests for everyone involved, but that’s because they kind of depend on each other for survival. Women no longer need to depend on men for survival in most developed countries, which is why it’s really only men who are pushing for forced monogamy. They are losing the control they once had

I just want to say I have nothing but respect for anyone’s faith, when that’s what you genuinely believe in your heart of hearts. So often you see people using religion to push some type of political agenda, and often people who claim to be religious do not practice what they preach. Which gives people of that faith a bad name. Have you never heard of the concept of deadbeat dads? The only thing legally required of a man who reproduces is child support. Which I did state Ideally though, and I know it’s just an ideal, but if the scenario I laid out in the post was a reality, there would be no “unplanned” pregnancies. No excuses. From that standpoint you couldn’t reasonably expect a man to have to pay child support if every precaution was taken and abortion is on the table. If the woman wants to keep the baby and the man…

Men are not the ones who carry the burden physically, mentally, emotionally or of child-rearing by default. Only financially. A man doesn’t lose earning potential when he has a child I’m of the mind though if a man does not want children he should be able to relinquish his rights and not have to pay child support. It should always be a joint, equal decision

>There are basically none already Roe vs Wade overturned abortion in many US states. There are pros and cons to every type of birth control and some women can only tolerate certain kinds. To add to this many health insurance companies will only cover a certain type, even if that type isn't tolerable for that person Also pretty rare, but suprise pregnancies DO happen even on the most "effective" forms of BC

But women in the workforce has hit an all time high, and will likely continue to rise. Many women can support themselves and pay taxes, and the issue of self-protection is solved with a conceal-and-carry. Also welfare theoretically wouldn't be as much of an issue if easy access to contraceptives, abortion, and sex education was widespread. Additionally with the rise in genetic testing, there will likely be less children with conditions that require care and government support for their entire li…

women don’t go out of their way to befriend men I think part of the reason for this is because the man might automatically assume sexual/romantic interest. I’m also sympathetic to both men and women’s struggles. Men also experience a lot of sexual harassment like you said, but usually either it’s welcome to them, or they feel as though they shouldn’t complain/it’s not actually harassment b/c of social norms/general attitudes about men. I will die on this hill, but feminism is about being treated EQUALLY, even if the parties have differences. if a girl isn’t willing to try out a relationship then she isn’t really that great of a friend Please explain the logic behind this. If you are only a single person, how would you know how widespread something is? Across cultures, age ranges? Multiple men in this thread said they would be friends with a woman when they were younger, but not anymore. If there are actually outliers, how is that not helpful for them? Guess it’s not the norm, so it’s irrelevant It’s incredibly foolish and narrow-minded to think you can boil down human behavior into a few sentences.

That’s a nice thought, and ideally I’d hope to have a relationship like that one day. I think part of this is that some women do find solace in knowing another guy is “safe” to date because he’s dated other girls she knows. That or it’s a competition thing, like “I’m as good as you if I can get the same guy”. It’s pretty dumb, but I’ve seen it enough to know it’s a thing

I mean that’s fine if you don’t believe me. Not sure why you decided to comment tho Assuming I’m not lying though, human communication is primarily nonverbal. You can read a lot about someone’s intentions if you pay attention

Could be, but often when someone tells you it’s all in your head/you’re overthinking it’s because They don’t actually understand what’s going on, and don’t want to think too deeply about it They’re gaslighting you

/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 07:37 PM

I kind of understand that. Like in high school I had to hide the fact I liked anime because everyone made fun of people who liked it (you got lumped into the kids who wore tails and bit people lol). One of my friends at the time who was one of the people who made fun of anime, now has a BF who is a weeb and so now she's super into it. Ngl, pretty aggravating lol
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 07:31 PM

That’s fair. I usually say climbing since some people may not know what bouldering is, but I guess they can ask if they don’t know. I also live in an area without many places to climb outdoors, and I’d feel bad about constantly using someone else’s gear instead of just buying my own. But what you said makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 07:14 PM

I was in no way claiming to be a bigger Kanye fan, guess I better add a disclaimer next time lol
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 06:43 PM

I’m a casual indoor boulderer 😂 but to be fair I have climbed outdoors a few times, just need to save enough money to afford the gear. So you shouldn’t say you enjoy climbing if you only boulder indoors?

real hobbies Damn that’s gatekeeping if I ever saw it
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 06:30 PM

Hmm that makes sense, the issue I guess is figuring out whether they are wanting to see how passionate you actually are, or are they trying to put you down to make themselves seem superior I guess I also feel like it’s a bit silly to have to “prove” your interest in something, but it is what it is I suppose
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 06:27 PM
6

I don’t mind that at all, as long as you’re not like, overtly dissing people for their taste in anime lol. I don’t really keep up with all the new stuff coming out, but I do occasionally rewatch classics like Evangelion or Monster or Utena. So if someone is stalking about newer anime I don’t usually have much to add, although I do enjoy anime
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 06:23 PM

Idk I’m pretty isolated sometimes lol. I think that may possibly be more of a personality thing and less of a gender thing tho
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 06:12 PM

But is it faking if, for example, she genuinely is interested in it, but just isn’t like an expert? Or know every detail about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 06:03 PM
5

Maybe, but like to me there is a difference between someone who is clearly very passionate about a subject and is sharing their knowledge, even if it’s coming off a little over-the-top, and someone who is trying to put you down to feel superior
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 06:01 PM
10

I get being proud of something you know a lot about, honestly I wouldn’t care if that was the case, like tell me all about it - it’s really just the air of superiority/condescension that is off-putting.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 05:57 PM
7

I don’t think hobbies are pointless, just not a fan of people acting all superior about it lol
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/24 05:50 PM

Lmao if it works I guess. I guess I don’t see why you can’t be like “I don’t really like indie folk music, but I’d be happy to accompany you!”

I think many of them are aware, it’s just kind of a game of “chicken”. You won’t divorce me, there’s no reason for me to have to change or grow. Then when they call them on their bluff and actually do go through with divorce, the man HAS to act like “I had no idea! It was out of the blue!” Because otherwise they come off as an asshole, look like the bad guy, and put off potential future partners who wouldn’t want to deal with the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/24 07:10 PM
1

This is interesting. Is there evidence for this? So by what you said, men being put off by women who are sexually liberal feel like it’s too easy, and this is because of social norms that were actually created by women for women, rather than men? And it’s not because men naturally like a challenge?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/24 04:15 AM

The reason for slut-shaming used to be to ensure that the child belongs to the man she’s with. The reason for it nowadays is either for women to put down other women b/c of jealousy, to increase her own value by comparison, etc. For men it’s to encourage misogyny in that men get to decide who sleeps with who (usually it’s the men who can’t get any that are the angriest with “sluts”

Hmm I wonder if that is specific to personality and not necessarily gender because I actually have seen this at my workplace which is 99% women. It’s only a specific few though that really care about their position/having authority over others, everyone else doesn’t gaf.

What does overt male competition generally look like, in your opinion?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/24 07:38 PM

But by your logic, women are only attracted to 20% of men, but they cannot all have the same 20% of men. So having someone who maybe isn’t their top choice but they do have a partner and aren’t lonely, especially if they get along with their partner…how is that getting the short end of the stick? (I’m not agreeing with the 20% thing btw, just going with the theory) Also I think this doesn’t take into account the fact that looks aren’t the primary determining factor of attraction for everyone. So…

I can’t argue how widespread it is, I will just say I have experienced it a LOT in my life and since becoming aware of it have seen it pretty frequently in situations where I’m around a group of women. Of course I’m sure not everyone is like this, but I currently work in a female-dominated field so I probably see it way more often for that reason lol Also I do wonder if men experience it to the same degree, to me it seems like men tend to lift each other up more and have more camaraderie, but th…

I’ve actually experienced it a lot as a woman. Lots of subtle put-downs, some not-so-subtle, “you’re too skinny you look like a lollipop (I’m not skinny, I’m actually slightly overweight; also was said to me by a female high school teacher lol)”, doing my hair/makeup like shit on purpose, jumping on guys once they find out I have a crush on them, etc. Not saying it doesn’t happen with men too, but I’m not a man so I can’t speak to that

some people who are opposed to traditional values are actually found with a very cherry picked subset of those values That actually makes sense. Agreed, in the same vein I personally find it kind of strange when people seem to idolize the serial killers themselves, or purchase a bunch of merch that is serial killer-related. Case file is pretty good in that it focuses a lot on the victims and their lives as well as the perpetrator’s, if not more so, which I like. Thanks for sharing - I can definitely see how this would work great for some people. But to be fair everyone has different goals/gifts/dreams and I don’t necessarily think these values would work for everyone so that they can enjoy life and self-actualization to the fullest. Like for example I am so not the person to come to for emotional support. I’m not good at it, even though I’m a woman. I also can’t cook, and I don’t like kids. I feel the same! Lots of podcasts capitalizing on the trend, and not really adding anything substantial imo. I do still listen to a few podcasts (Casefile and the Prosecuters mostly) to hear about cases I hadn’t heard before, or in the case of Prosecutors, for the lawyers perspective on how the media and public opinion shaped the trial/public perception.

That makes sense. Part of me is like am I screwing myself over by not getting married? Does everyone know something I don’t? Lol I guess the market dwindles past a certain age, maybe that’s part of it
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/24 02:16 AM

I’m mostly with you, except for the “traditional values” part. What does that mean to you? Women belonging in the home, men being viewed as superior, etc? Surely you don’t think things were better “back in the day”

If they don’t want to, I don’t understand why they do though? Like that’s actually why I broke up with my college boyfriend, he wanted to get married and have kids ASAP, non-negotiable and I was not down for that lol. Well, that and he had some controlling tendencies that I was not a fan of lol

Yeah it seriously give me the ick, like to my core. I really wish I would have said something at the time, but I was a pretty quiet person, and didn’t. Knowing her, it probably wouldn’t have mattered. But I never looked at her the same again. I’m of the mind you reap what you sow. Maybe not that incident specifically, but that kind of treatment of other people will come back to bite you eventually.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/24 12:07 AM

That’s really interesting. I do think the couples who are most concerned with putting up a perfect facade for others are probably the most dysfunctional
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/24 10:59 PM

You make some really good points. I feel nervous for young people (like 18-22ish) who get married. Like, if it works out for them, great, I wish them all the best, but I don’t even recognize who I was at that age. If I had gotten married to the guy I dated in college, I’m sure we’d already be divorced by now lol. But in my experience saying things like “but you’re so young” when a very young person is getting married is not socially acceptable lol
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/24 10:53 PM
7

Yeah to me getting upset that people aren’t paying you enough attention comes across as a bit entitled. Like if I tried talking to someone and they ignored me I would just assume they didn’t want to talk and be on my merry way. No reason to get offended by it Also maybe more community-oriented people might feel that way? Idk, if that’s the case though might not want to live in a big city lol

Fair enough!
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/24 10:18 PM

I don’t like kids - I would probably do the same thing lol. You’re not obligated to respond to some random stranger who is talking to you, even a kid. Indifference isn’t rudeness. If I told your kid to fuck off, yes that’d be rude Also, if someone doesn’t want to talk to your kid, leave them be. That’s a good opportunity to teach your child to respect others

Anecdotal evidence actually is useful when it comes to social issues that can’t readily be solved by simple reasoning You’re missing my point, of course once you’re married you want to avoid divorce. That’s why I’m wondering why people get married so fast in the first place I’m sure many people can see red flags, I’m wondering why some don’t take that information and do something with it
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/24 08:57 PM

Well that’s kind of shitty. See even in that situation who would want to be with someone who does shit like that

That’s a great analogy! But to go with that, what if they end up being the type of shoe that never breaks in? Or they do break in but then become worn out over time to the point you cannot wear them anymore? Haha but in all seriousness, that is a really good analogy, thanks :)

Interesting. I can see why people might think that’s weird if you’re attractive, because of general beliefs about men. I don’t generally get flack from guys but some women tend to turn up their noses at me. I have also gotten “don’t worry, you’ll find the one!” Haha

I agree! I definitely don’t want kids but I wouldn’t mind having someone I enjoy being with. When I tell other people my age I’m not ready to settle down and don’t want kids, I tend to get a lot of weird looks, lol. Some women even look at me with disgust, not a good feeling lol

I knew a girl in college who bragged about sleeping with a guy who was absolutely shitfaced out of his mind (he had a gf at the time). She bragged about it like it was some kind of accomplishment. To me, that’s assault. I honestly think a lot more women do than we’re aware of but because of social norms/expectations (women are pure, should be protected / real men will have sex with anyone, anytime and be happy about it) it’s not reported, or even considered a crime in some cases. I agree that is asshole behavior. Maybe I should have been more specific, obviously saying things like “Ew” or laughing at someone, yeah that’s not right. But I have given a simple “I’m not interested” to men who then get defensive or start arguing with me. I’ve literally had a guy call me a bitch for just this. Also, if a guy comes up and says hi and you aren’t interested, if you keep the conversation going you are “leading him on” and then if you turn him down later on, it’s even more anger-in…

I think you’re right in some cases, but I also want to point out that many men (and I’m sure some women too) take a kind no as a “keep trying” and will keep pushing thinking they can change her mind. And maybe this works sometimes with someone with poor boundaries, which I suppose is why it happens (that and outdated messages directed at men) And rude response gets the message across loud and clear and usually doesn’t allow for further questions. My point is the word “illogical” doesn’t seem apt because like OP said that would imply you are behaving in a way that doesn’t make sense. If you are getting a favorable result, is that illogical?

I get where you’re coming from, but I think what OP is conveying is that even if a person isn’t behaving in a way that appears logical on the surface, there is still some type of underlying motivation for what they are doing that is meeting their needs in some way. For example, maybe someone is complaining that they have bad grades even though they aren’t studying. By complaining, it doesn’t seem like they are behaving in a way that is logical, but complaining is a way to let off steam and to po…

Would a thirsty woman also not be intelligent? No, that would be misogynistic and slut-shaming. It’s delusional to think that if you’re intelligent enough you’re not gonna be horny. That’s not how biology works

I think the difference lies (at least for me) if your edgy humor consistently involves putting other people or the person you’re talking to down, or talking about sensitive subjects with more of an intent to shock rather than an attempt at humor. It’s pretty obvious to tell if that’s what the person is intending though, at least I tend to think so I consider myself to have an “edgy” sense of humor, it’s something we always had in my family. Both me and my sister use it and we know neither of us …

I don’t understand why having standards is a bad thing though. Men can have standards too, no one is making them fuck any willing participant 🤷🏼‍♀️

I did read your whole post, and I do agree with some points like it might be a good thing for men not to make women the center of their lives, but it’s just the wording that gives it a misogynistic subtext. Like “females” as if women are a different species entirely or something. Or judging women based on their number of sexual partners, even though this standard isn’t applied to men

I agree with being realistic and all, but you kind of lost me there when you started talking about “enforced monogamy” and “female hypergamy”. You can’t blame women for being put off by being talked about like an object that men are losing control over

I definitely see where you’re coming from. I was overweight as a kid and was made fun of by the guys in my class. They even made a list of the “hottest” girls in the class one time and I made it dead last lol. I’ve become a normal weight as an adult and since learning makeup and how to take care of myself I get a good amount of attention from guys now. The reason why I bring this up is, this is how I learned how superficial the world can be and it was actually pretty disheartening how much bette…

I hate to be “that person”, but this is absolutely true for women as well. If you think women care more about looks than men you are deluding yourself

I agree. I won’t speak for all women, but many can tell when a guy has an ulterior motive. Unfortunately this includes faking confidence, which is very easy to see through, so I can see how this seems like a no-win situation. The only solution really is to get therapy and genuinely build your self-esteem. There’s nothing more attractive to a secure woman than a secure guy who is comfortable with himself and is actively pursuing his own goals and interests. I also think the BS detector does have …

Some women actually enjoy working though? And and it’s not mutually exclusive, you can work and also be a good female role model for your kids. Stay-at-home dads are a thing too

Seriously, people act like being in a relationship is the end-all be-all. I love my independence, and if given the choice between a relationship that is more work than the value it’s bringing to me, I’m going to choose being single
