I am gonna print this out and put it somewhere so I can give it to my daughter when she's older. You summed all that up nicely- better than I could have.

This is one of the most interesting threads I have read in a long time- possibly ever. I live with my boyfriend and neither of us has any interest in getting married- each of us already has a divorce under our belts. We live in my house that I inherited- I pay the property tax and all the maintenance stuff that goes along with being a homeowner. We each have our own bank accounts and one joint one that we pay monthly bills from. If he decided to up and leave tomorrow, I would be fine financially…

also new, and also confront stuff I don't like or don't get head-on. And I also thought there were guy versions of the shit test. I'm glad you posted this and that I got to read it.

I have both long and short hair- no, not like a mullet. I have an asymmetrical cut, long in the front on one side and short in the back and on the other side. It may sound weird (I don't know how to post a picture or even if I ought to) but I like it. It's easy to work with, for sure. I like it better than the boyish cut I used to have because I really had to do more makeup to not look ... weird. I can't wear much jewelry at work (I'm a nurse) and forget about little scarves or whatever, you can…

you know, I sort of thought so, but the Red Pill guys seem to break out some tests, too. Sometimes it's like they are doing it in response to the 'shit testing" that has already happened- but sometimes it seems like they're doing shit testing of their own... or like, quality control testing. IDK. As I mentioned, my fella isn't all up in the Red Pill officially (if you know what I mean)- as far as I know, anyway- but his natural personality is in line with RP philosophy, so.... I thought maybe te…

omg, I have a friend who uses "what you really want to do is..." as a preamble to her giving advice, and it immediately rubs me the wrong way. It's just a verbal tic of hers, but it annoys me so bad!

the best part is, I get to be Spock. Spock is my favorite.

Oh, no- it doesn't bother me at all. I'm glad he can do that, and extremely pleased that he values my opinion. Of course it irks me when he doesn't take my (completely wise, awesome, fool-proof) advice, but I don't freak out about it or anything. We're on the same page more often than not, and so far we've always been able to agree about Really Important Shit. I guess the real reason I'm asking (which I hadn't actually figured out until just now) is because of our daughters. I want them both to …

The fact that your SO is aware of what he knows and what he may not know speaks well of his character and his suitability as a long-term partner, imo. I have heard the captain/first mate analogy and I like it. I mean, it worked for Kirk and Spock- look at how well they did! I'm only sort of kidding. I just wasn't 100% on this issue because it seems like (from what I have read on the Married RP sub) that it's kind of a Your Mileage May Vary thing. So far (several years in at this point) we have o…
