Yikes, what does it look like when he's not respecting himself and keeping his pride?

We got married this past June. We had thought about doing a bigger party with friends and family but I got stressed out whenever I thought about it at length so we decided to go super small. We told close friends and family beforehand but for the actual day, it was just us and three friends, one of whom performed the ceremony. We had a fantastic meal at a very nice restaurant afterward and I'm still thrilled with the whole thing. Both of our families are in the same state a plane ride away so we…

Get to know actual women and realize they are just people.

I don't think this is the right place for you. From the sidebar: That means you must be here for one or both of these reasons: You are a man who wants to improve your own control over your life, mostly your sex life. You want to help men achieve that goal.

I don't know if it's possible to go from exclusive to non-exclusive. You could make a clean break and then see later if she's down for a non-exclusive relationship or casual sex. Very few women are going to accept reversing the progression of a relationship regardless of your improving SMV. If not because of her own problems with the situation, then because of the pressure that will be put on her by friends and family.

Okay, but do you see where he said 'ladies' are most likely to respond to a promotion like this? It's much more likely that this is a case of trying to combat that stereotype of mechanic's shops being unfriendly places for women rather than thinking that women matter more so they deserve 10% off. Products that are branded for women are often more expensive than products branded for men because women are more likely to spend a lot of money on personal care. That doesn't mean companies that do thi…

Ah, so it's a Uk-ism. I was confused because in America you have to work to be eligible for a lot of the welfare, so working poor = welfare poor.

I'm so confused by what this question is asking. What do you mean working class poor vs welfare poor?

Because they aren't pieces of trash, they're human beings? Because sometimes the difference between shelter and no shelter is death? Because sometimes people don't have family and friends to rely on and the people that have had help in life can appreciate that they're no better than homeless people, just luckier?

Don't be a dick, just because you tell people how you feel doesn't mean they're actually listening. Even if you're honest, it doesn't mean people won't get hurt. Don't put yourself in situations that aren't consistent with your intentions. Just because you told that dude you weren't going to sleep with him doesn't make it a good idea to go back to his place and expect him to respect that.

I don't actually read or pay much attention to non-RP relationship experts/advisors/whatever, besides maybe the Dear Sugar podcast. I certainly understand the utility of stereotypes and heuristics but I don't understand the fervent desire to continuously seek confirmation of them in people I meet. As someone who has spent years studying management, leadership, and, more importantly, childhood development and education, you're aware that there are very real differences in people beyond gender. Wh…

Right, but economists and social scientists don't reduce the people they encounter in their day-to-day lives to their base demographics. AMALT (all millennials are like that).

Did you ask them out or did they ask you? It matters because logically if you're the person that proposed going out you should also take the initiative to make the plans. It's rude to ask someone for their time and then make them entertain you. Even now after 4 years of dating, if I want to go out I find a restaurant/concert/bar I think we'd both enjoy and propose going there rather than saying I want to go out and expecting him to do all the work.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
