all (and by all I mean all four) of the guys I knew who tried the crap they 'learned' from The Pickup Artist was that they didn't seem to try to improve themselves as much as fake having done so. that's been my experience as well, and they all end up with fat chicks.

I suggest reading a book called "No more Mr. Nice Guy" by Dr. Robert Glover, it looks into the psychology behind men who take on these kinds of behaviours and has exercises so you can get your way out.
