She is referring to the consistency of his character, even in the hardest times, he did not ask her for help. Asking his wife for help would compromise his character and his integrity. It seems like his integrity is highly intertwined with his traditional role in financial stability (not saying that is healthy at all, simply trying to explain). It always has been hateful towards women in my opinion as a woman. Women hating on women and men hating women. It's understandable, it's classic resentment. I think you invalidating my experience is truly saddening. I understand what it is because I feel what my mom feels. My mom is that exhausted and resentful women with a lot on her plate and she places those burdens on me everyday because I'm her daughter. It really just comes down to the members of a households priorities, the effectiveness of systems, and healthy consistent communication.
