I wasn't disagreeing with you, just adding on to your point.

Good post! Faking interest is a terrible idea. (Though I don't recall anyone suggesting this in any major posts here?) People always say to be interested in the other person. It's important to remember that it's not reasonable to be impressed in EVERYTHING they say. You should try to find the specific stuff that interests you.

start off by asking simple questions (like hi, whats your name, where are you from, whats that like) and move to ones that require more of a response. rule of thumb: people like talking about things that they like. probably the best question to ask to get to know someone is "what do you do for fun?" another good one is when she says she likes [x], ask "what do you like about [x]" discussing shared interests is great because you both like them so you're both engaged in the conversation.

it's alright man, everyone has to constantly practice and get better at this stuff. it's totally normal and something everyone goes through :)

dude a girl just randomly said hello to you and smiled, that should make you feel pretty good regardless of how you handled it!

Being friends essentially means people who you text random stuff to. There's nothing needy about it, unless you do it all the time even when they don't respond.

Totally agreed. I forced myself into the habit a couple of months back and now it's pretty much second nature. Makes me feel better about all my relationships!

...that would act to your detriment.

Both of these things can be true. OP can respond appropriately to the test but also try communicating differently. Brushing it off as just a test would be simplistic.

Nah, not really. People want other people to listen to their problems rather than brush them off. It's a communication problem he should think more deeply about.

But no one decides to be uninteresting.

Whoa it's almost like girls and guys aren't exactly the same and that statement is an overgeneralization

Uninstall and reinstall, and create a new account. I've seen cases like this before where it was a bug with tinder.

Just talk to multiple girls at the same time. Easy fix.

It sounds to me like you're just mad because she brushed you off.

This has got to be the most hilariously bad execution on this advice ever.

Possibly you have low self-esteem. "If she is interested in someone like me, she can't possibly be worth it."

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
