Hrm, I don't disagree with what you're saying, I just found the irony hilarious. and yes, it does look like britan is different from the US (and I agree that the retirement age is blatantly sexist). Although I'm not sure if it's appropriate to treat everyone the same rather than recognizing their differences and adjusting the laws accordingly. This does not mean that you treat men terribly all the time, just that you treat men and women differently but with equal respect.

What would you consider it? Hypocracy? Irony? In a country where men are, literally, running the country he's claiming that men are somehow being subjugated. But as I said, perhaps the feminist movement in the UK has skewed the balance moreso than the US? On the other hand from what I understand, the pressure on men to exist in the man box is rather strong.

Says the guy surrounded by 506 (~78%) other men in one of the most powerful jobs in their country... I don't disagree with the occasion for the remarks (extended paternity leave), but WTF? EDIT: though this is britan, which I know very of the current situation.
