I'd agree but I don't think these guys are the reading type, lol. Generally one gets some form of empathy for others' life experiences when they read a lot of fiction and these guys... don't

This podcast just keeps getting better and better, becoming an absolute must-listen for every woman.

Wow this is so true. This is one of the few lines of work where the "employee" will defend the work with such vehemence and take criticism so personally. If someone said "working in an office doing paperwork is unhealthy for you, and perpetuates the 'bullshit jobs' nature of the capitalistic hellhole we live in. And you're part of the problem" I'd be like "yup I wish I could fix it, and if you told me how, I'd listen and try"

Absolutely! We were socialized from so young to be helpful, attentive and kind, but like... We don't HAVE to be. We can stop. Very liberating!

he probably had his ego hurt because he tried to read some sci fi once but didn't have the brain cells or the patience to understand a concept that isn't some easily remembered 'self help' mantra. Honestly though, imagine if you'd told him you like to read romance novels... probably be a way worse reaction. edit: also, girl, drop some book recommendations lol

The self help one is huge, I think. Sure, self help books can be great, but if the only three books you read in the last decade are Atomic Habits, The 4 Hour Work Week, and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck - you aren't as "well read" as you claim to be. These guys are the epitome of "I'm enlightened and if you don't do things exactly like I do, you're a moron". Best part is, they rarely even implement the advice in the books. These guys will neg you for reading fiction.

I have a book of her writings, Last Days at Hot Slit, and it should be required reading for everyone everywhere. She is incredible, her writing is so accessible and scathing and honest. I love her so much. Edit to add: it's frustrating that I never even would have heard of her without FDS. This is why this sub/ideology is SO IMPORTANT.

All I do is read anymore lol. And I've been heavily favoring female authors this year. I highly recommend tea, a cat, and an entire Sunday dedicated to the works of the best fantasy fiction author of our time, Ms. Robin Hobb.

I feel like the plot of a great movie would be a woman posing as that unicorn, then infiltrating the relationship and stealing away the girl without ever having to touch the man. She then teaches the woman the FDS ways and they team up to steal away other women that are in those situationshits. Operation save a sis

She's not being judgmental, it's literally solid fds advice. These men will feed off the attention of even our meanest comebacks, and use it to keep talking to us and worming their way into our brains, getting off on knowing we're still thinking about them and responding. Even though it might be satisfying to roast them, it's unfortunately unproductive.

For real. I was about 14 when this went down and it was one of the things that started the "cracks" in my faith in religion and God himself. How could a loving God let that happen? How could these leaders that we looked up to, do this? Why are they given such lenience by their families and congregations? It's so insane.

I went to a fundamentalist non denominational church as a kid/teen. There was a sweet girl in my youth group and bible classes. Her adoptive dad was an elder and well respected. When her sister ran away at 16, we were told "she left for a life of sin" Then when she turned 16 herself, the dad was arrested for raping them. His wife knew about it. But you didn't tell a church elder he was doing something wrong, so it continued. Sickening. Edit- should have given it the gravity it needed the first t…

I read some posts yesterday about how we're female incels (except the few of us who are actually men larping as females incels for.... reasons?) and that we want to be spoiled by rich men without deserving it. Every time I see something like this it just proves to be a knee-jerk hate response, because if the person saying it had read a single thread in there, they'd know this is far from the truth. So much of this sub is about our own leveling up - so the haters either have blinders on for 90% o…

It's so strange to me now as a 32 year old. I'm objectively better looking, smarter, waaaay more successful, funnier, kinder, and wiser than I was at 16. Literally the only thing more appealing to men about me at 16 vs 32, is my naivety and willingness to overlook bullshit.

I especially love how many suitors the women in romances of that era have, and how it's just... normal. It's not "gold digging wh*re plays the field". It's just what happened and everyone accepted it, and men stepped up their game because of it.

So much this... I'm to the point where this isn't even a "guilty" confession. It just is what it is. Fictional men (especially ones created by women, how strange) are miles better than the ones I encounter in real life.

Totally, especially if its YOUNG women. There is no demographic so hated as teenage girls/young women and what they enjoy, and what media is made for them. Everything they love is socially demonized (Twilight being the best example; the toxic themes in Twilight are separate from the hate it receives for simply being aimed at teen girls). And once teenage girls/women start liking something "not meant for them" it becomes hated. Same concept of a video game being fun until GaMeR GiRLs join in and …

I am trying! I found this sub after a terrible breakup and it changed so much about how I felt about myself, men, and relationships. I wholly believe that if a man isn't giving you more than you can give yourself he doesn't belong in your life. And I am no longer willing to give all of myself for anyone like I used to do before FDS, especially not over some home decor and I cat I could've bought myself! But getting presents does feel good, and no one's ever sent me on a scavenger hunt before!

I'm wondering if my coolness towards the sex and unwillingness to see him very often is what is driving this "impress her!!!"behavior lol. I will try my very best to keep my head on straight. I've been with enough LVM to know that a thousand nanoleafs don't justify dealing with that again.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/07/20 05:27 PM

I agree and am glad others are pointing it out. I am not emotionally invested in him and am ready to break it off at any sign of low value behavior. I'm happy with the gifts and the cat, cautiously optimistic towards and physically attracted to the man. If he can keep this level up without getting weird, we'll see. Thank you.

I agree that it's over the top and also agree completely that this COULD be manipulative behavior, but I'm confident that I'm not going to let it drive any feelings about him. I've been very guarded and am not at all emotionally invested in him. I'd have no issue dropping him at any moment. Gifts that are given to manipulate aren't meaningful gifts so I wouldn't feel bad. Gifts given in good faith aren't a bargaining tool. I've seen him do less over the top but still generous gestures for others…

Tinder of all places! I know right... I was just about to delete the app after being on FDS for awhile. While this guy seems pretty good so far I can't say I recommend looking there, lol. And today felt like a Disney princess day, having him go through all that effort was really special, but he's far from perfect. I am enjoying this though!

Oh I will! I have not forgotten anything this wonderful sub has taught me. I still am not even close to sold on this guy and I think he knows it. I only see him maybe once a week, no sex, and am perfectly happy to continue receiving adoration and presents until he gives me a reason to cut it off. I'm honestly shocked he is this nice to me while getting so little in return (besides the pleasure of my company now and then). Men really do love bitches.

Hah, I am the SAME WAY. Younger, low-self-esteem me, ridiculous dirty degrading (and not-acted-out) fantasies. Older, wiser, way happier me? My fantasy is vanilla sex with a husband who tells me he loves me while we make love, we have a house and two kids and Christmas where my mother in law has crocheted me a sweater. This fantasy made even more ridiculous by the fact that I don't have a husband and don't want, and will never have, children. Fantasies are weird. And the comments on that post ma…

Mine is similar to yours... Audacious stupidity. We were watching a Lana Del Rey music video where they're swimming in a lake on another planet. LVM: "That's supposed to be Mars." Me: "What gives you that idea?" LVM: "The way that it is. It's Mars." Me: "... They're not wearing space suits, everything is lush and green, and they're in a lake. What about that says Mars to you?" I also want this life. For me it would be a quiet cabin in a small mountain town where you get all 4 seasons. Stargazing, skiing, gardening, baking, a writing room with carefully curated books and decor, comfy furniture where all my ladies can gather and drink tea and hot cocoa and mimosas, a hot tub in the back, and several cats.

Something that hit home for me awhile back was how I was responding to when a man would say "Need me to pick anything up?" before coming over. I'd always say "Nope, I'm good" or "Not unless you were already planning on getting food, are you hungry?" even though in the back of my head the voice would be saying "actually some fries and a McFlurry sounds amazing" but I don't want him to go out of his way....
