man, this reminds me. a little less than year ago at the start of the fall semester, i was determined to smile and say hello to passerby-- especially women. for some reason i was pretty surprised when they smiled and said hello back, and for some ungodly reason i stopped doing it. looking back, i remember how friendlier the entire world seemed when i did it. i'm an idiot, it's high time to bust out the pleasantries again. thanks for the reminder, take my upvote!

Statistics: trends, not absolutes. OKC's articles point out statistical correlations to help you stack the odds more in your favor. They never say doing the opposite never works, just that you're more likely to be successful if you do X Y and Z, even if it's only a very marginal gain.
