“men care more about looks” isn’t a misconception and comes mainly from the fact that it’s the one area men aren’t willing to compromise on. They are willing to commit to a woman that makes less money or is less intelligent, but they are highly unlikely to commit to a woman that is uglier than them. Women however, will marry a literal goblin triple her age if he brings in quadruple her income and has tons of resources to his name.
