Read The 4-Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. He lays out the slow-carb diet, which is essentially the ketogenic diet plus beans (which makes it much easier to stick to and therefore succeed). If you want to lose fat, you do that by eating better, not by working out. You want to gain muscle, you do that by exercising smart, not overdoing it.

Yup, that ring looks terrible on those pudgy fingers coming out of a hoodie or beside that chunky yellowed-skin fakeup face. Yes, I understand. A lot (most) of social science is garbage. The main point was that experimental psychology and clinical psychology are actually different fields. Most lay-people do not know this. Replication crises in experimental psychology — say, social psychology, which has under 50% replicability — do not speak to issues in clinical psychology. Not saying clinical psych is perfect, but it's a different area. The area your citations speak to are experimental psych.

You're totally right about the field of experimental psychology, but that's a different field than that of clinical psychology. To be sure, lots of clinical psych is also bullshit and would not replicate, but they are different fields. Lots of biology and medicine does not replicate either, but they still have some value.
