1	She's back guys :D Ellen Pao plans on appealing her case. When you think about it, it sort of makes sense. She's all in from a PR perspective. Generally parties try to settle cases before they ever get to trial and then lock people up with NDA's so no one ever hears about the claims, ever. Cost of doing business, blah blah. 2	Nobody goes into marriage expecting divorce, but it comes frequently, & she really does get the house & the kids. In divorces, men lose. Your child support will be based on what a judge thinks you should earn, so that, if you're a stock broker, you can't decide you'd rather work on a fishing boat. Ultimately it would seem to be most productive, except for one problem: People get pointed to the dictionary definition of feminism which claims to be about gender equality, but in practice is anything but. Thus if you start out with a "gender equality" movement, a lot of people would associate that with feminism. While I agree with your first paragraph, I'd invite you to more carefully consider the second as you are largely answering your own question. They are in fact very effective at lobbying, which among other things results in terribly flawed laws that are disproportionately negative/unfair for men. As a whole they also spend an inordinate amount of time bashing men and those things traditionally considered "masculine." That's why people care.
