Every man that has treated me well has been alternative and into metal/rock/goth/grunge music, including my current boyfriend. I am goth so it may be due to having a lot of shared interests, but I find a lot of HV men in these circles. It’s not your job to fix him, change him, parent or raise him - you want a partner, not a project.” Saw this on Twitter a while back and it was something I really needed to hear. You are not the exception to the rule. If he has a pattern of abusive, LV behaviour, you will not be the one who will magically “fix” him. YES this this this! A lot of the time they won't even stop if you have a boyfriend. I've lost count of the number of guys I've met while out with friends that still tried to get me to come over/entertain them even though I have a boyfriend.
