Realizing the things I hated or felt about women were actually just things I hate and feel about humanity as a whole. Not unique to women. Essentially, yes women are people just like you, but most people suck.

Couldn't have said it better. I've been on so many decent dates that end up going nowhere and it just feels like shit every time. And those are the decent ones. Not worth trying anymore. Ironically that's how I got sucked into all the RP shit years ago. Feels like it's coming full circle again.

Same reason people give up trying to find a job or a house. And those two things you generally need a lot more than a date.

There's definitely a happy medium. I agree constantly asking would be a little weird but I also know lots of women who have rightfully complained that guys just expect they can do X, Y, and Z when a girl is in bed with them but they were actually not comfortable with it. There is also definitely a way to make it more "natural and flowing" but still ensure consent.

Oh ok. That isn't what I was thinking of as being "direct" but I get what you're going for. And maybe not shoulder but asking for consent to touch women is definitely important in lots of other contexts. The shit in your last paragraph gets irritating and exhausting to deal with though, honestly.

Being super direct and about dating shows lack of social skills. What do you mean by this exactly? I mean if you're like "you have big boobs and I want to fuck you" then yeah no. But being direct and honest in the right way is not bad. Much better than playing games and hard to get and whatnot.

All of this nonsense about "find a woman from a 'traditional' culture" contradicts the whole RP bit about "biotruths" anyway, which I always found funny. Like, if women are "better" because of their perceived "culture", then doesn't that disprove that "all women are like blah blah whatever"?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
