Also, to address the Argentina thing, I think that the gender inequality balance is far tipped against women. Jeez, my point is that blatantly attacking feminism doesn't magically equal equality for men. I've always believed that Men are also victims of prejudice, but let's be realistic. This a list of feminists who did bad things. The average feminist isn't news worthy. It's this same logic that hurts the position of male equality in our society. Christians preach a message of charity and equality, but they also caused atrocities like the crusades and the 16th street baptist church bombing. Don't try to ascribe radical behavior to an entire group of people school of thought. It makes the whole mens rights movement look bad.

It raises some great points for discussion, but the information, while credible, is presented in a highly antagonistic way. The part where it made it seem like because a child wasn't biologically related to the father, they were a waste of money made me very angry. The statistics on people over 100 seemed to be filler too.

Why don't you just email Google instead of whining about it on reddit? It's cool to raise awareness, but you can actively try to fix the problem first. Maybe it's a coding thing where they just automatically draw it from a certain source without checking. I'm certain that they would be happy to fix it.

I think this was the result of a survey done a few years ago that said that 1 in 7 (or some such high statistics) college males had sex without the girl's consent. From what I saw resulting from that was an ad campaign about not joking about rape with your bros. Still kinda similar, but a statistic like that would explain the gender targeting a bit. I'm egalitarian, so I don't like the language of either ad btw.

I don't feel that this is a good rebuttal. I'm not sure what is being rebutted. Are you claiming that "straw feminists" are real by bringing up one instance of where feminists went a little too far? I don't think your helping men's rights by picking on feminism. It's this exact thing that gives such a good cause a bad name.

There's a difference between criticism and attacks. I've seen some posts here that was more in the league of trash talking than legitimate political discourse. It made me a bit mad, so I probably misrepresented how I felt. I'm okay with criticism. Criticism in all aspects is a good thing as long as it's constructive.

I have to agree with you. Feminism really does support more rights without the same responsibility. Many women take advantage of the movement while at the same time going against everything it stood for. I'm for criticizing women so long as men are not immune from criticism as well.

I'm not sure whether to be surprised or angry by this question, but I'll answer it seriously. There are women who do the exact same desk job and have the same qualifications and experience who don't get paid the same wage as a man would. Just because this subreddit is fighting male discrimination doesn't give anyone the excuse to ignore the plights of others.

I compare it to the US christians whining about persecution in a country where they are the safest group. White males are the safest group in the US. I think this is more attributed to a cognitive processing error we have where we can't feel empathy towards something too far removed from ourselves. I can't remember the proper term for it, but it's the reason we can shrug off genocides in Darfur, but cry our eyes out over a puppy who lost a leg. It's obviously wrong, but it isn't triggered by any specific social construct.

I don't really like this article. First of all, I think that men should have equal right to "paternity leave". This is part of the reason women are so discriminated against in the workplace. They assume they'll pop out a baby eventually, and they'll have to pay her for work she's not doing. Men should have paid time off of work to care for their new children too. This is an extremely biased view of feminism. As a feminist, I believe in equal standing of men and women. No patriarchy, no matriarchy. Complete equality. It's an unrealistic and idealistic view, but I believe in applying the draft to women, as well as equal pay for women. Also, I wouldn't even want "one good-looking stud" that is shared between tons of women. Something like that, while technically viable, is extremely derogative to men and also completely disgusting.

This is actually a major issue. There are some countries like France where giving priority to any one group is seen as an unfair advantage. The US however feels enormous social pressure to try to equalize the playing field for the disadvantaged to increase diversity in certain roles. Usually this issue has more to do with ethnicity than gender, but it still applies.
