With an MS directly after from place like Stanford, CMU, Cornell, Michigan etc. you can easily make 130k$ a year. 1	Starting my RP life Hi, at 17 you are at a great age, your questions shows that you are capable of introspection which is always good. I would highly recommend finding out whether you are really good at programming. Take few courses on Coursera, or Udacity or even few tutorials at Codecademy. For those who are good at programming and start early (17 is the right time) its extremely easy to make 100 to 120 K a year (Circa 2013) right after your graduation in Computer Science.
