this is like somebody saying they can't be an atheist because then there would be no heaven as a reward at the end. but importantly the goal of feminism simply isn't about helping men get dates or into relationships, and I think any man using feminism with this goal in mind is nothing more than a pest.

it's so strange seeing men treat relationships like some rpg where they have to master the art of deception in order to talk to women. They sound like dating magicians 🧙‍♂️ Like please just work on yourself

This is the one thing Peterson has said that actually makes sense

Not sure, I'm more fem and i get compliments from women about my appearance all the time, not sure if it's attraction but I've definitely been complimented more now that i look this way. But what's more important is that you present yourself in a way that you feel comfortable with and that you like. Even if most women did prefer masculine men (which i don't think is really true), is that something that you yourself want to be, or is it something that you feel others want you to be? Don't alter y…

Conflating uber macho with masculinity in general says more about your own bias/lack of comprehension than anything. If you don't see the difference between the two then I imagine these conversations would be difficult

Because it's obvious that the term uber macho is referring to machismo, not simply masculinity. Their terms are correct, but people are choosing to misinterpret and be obtuse about what uber macho means

but you cant tell me you dont understand why Oh for sure, i had this view of masculinity when i first realized i was bi. But this thinking also means that you'll never be as masculine as a straight man. You'll live your entire life and still won't be as masculine as a straight man who has never had homosexual desires. It's exhausting But again I'm not saying you need to be having sex with men, just don't be too hard on yourself if you think you're not masculine enough. There are plenty of mascul…

I'm not trying to pressure you to have sex with men if you don't want to, but as a bi man i will say that this sounds like internalized homophobia

... can someone tell me what an alpha feminist is? I've never heard or seen any self described feminist ever refer to themselves as alpha

After asking yourself a series of “whys” what do you think has led to this expectation? Simple answer to all of these questions: private property

Yeah, and some people get very weird in what they imagine would happen if men didn't have their 'outlet'. But are you saying this formation is a natural outcome, or a social construction?

I hope that your last statement is true, and I personally hope more people choose to opt out in every sense. I think patriarchal violence has become such a naturalized 'reality' that some of the solutions to these problems assume that the problems will always exist. But patriarchy is a historical event

One requires the other in the sense that historically, if you weren't part of one group, you were the other group. It's not so completely dichotomous today, but as a current example you can see it in the terms men use for the women they deem unfit to marry. The worth of one group is very often measured by its similarity/difference to the other group. These identities formed under patriarchal society where a woman's worth is defined by her relationship to a man. So in the most extreme case histor…

I guess more like your latter statement. It's not really on a personal level but moreso the existence of these two groups historically, and how societies differentiate the two. And also the relations of these two groups to economic and political power if we treat patriarchy as a historical event. But I don't have all the answers, I'm still looking for more analysis on these two groups and how they come to be

I've been trying to look at these two groups more dialectically and I'm starting to believe the existence of one requires the existence of the other. The wife and the prostitute are two different sides of the same coin. When looking at patriarchy as a historical event I believe this relationship becomes more clear

All very true, which is why I think it's a lifestyle/ideology that mainly tries to prey on fear and ignore reality. You'd have to put a lot of trust in the idea that if you follow the rules your husband will follow his too, which as you note is just not realistic. I think the more power a woman has whether financially physically structurally or communally, the safer she'll be in a relationship

Have you read Andrea Dworkin's Right Wing Women? Not RP specifically but may have some insights. Essentially if you follow the rules you'll be protected in some way from male violence. As you noted tho the divorce rate remains high

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
