I didn’t mention divorce at all.

I think strong families with two parents is the backbone of society, and I think that promiscuity contributes to single motherhood rates. Logically, it follows that if more people are having sex out of wedlock with more people, you’re going to have the potential for more out of wedlock children. Children born to single parents do substantially worse than their peers raised in a two parent household. They do worse in school, have worse economic outlooks, higher crime rates, and so on. I don’t thi…

Well I’d argue having strong families is the backbone of society. Kids do FAR worse when they have single parents. I think promiscuity contributes heavily to single parenthood by its very nature. It’s not the only thing, but the sexual revolution in the 70s was, in my opinion, a major factor in the rise of single motherhood during the same time. We’re hard wired to enjoy sex, sure, but that doesn’t mean you have to be promiscuous. I’d advocate people get married instead.

So would you extend this to women too? For example, if women talk about the “chopped men” epidemic or the “loser men” epidemic if they don’t make as much money or something as they want?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 01:43 PM

I’m saying promiscuity in general, both from men and women. Now I do think there’s an argument that it could be more important for women to be chaste than men, but I’d extend this to other areas too, like courage would be more important for men than for women. Society is worse off if both don’t do it, but it’s a lot worse if one doesn’t. Again, I don’t really subscribe to the idea that promiscuity is okay for men either though, I think it’s terrible for both and shouldn’t be done and there’s not…

What if you think promiscuity is bad for society?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 12:49 PM

I would argue materialism definitely does depending on how it’s defined. I think it entails selfishness, which makes someone a bad person, or is at least a negative trait.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 12:45 PM

Would you call it sexist if a man didn’t hate them but still didn’t want to be with a promiscuous woman? Naturally this shouldn’t be a double standard in this scenario, I’m talking about a non promiscuous man.

Wait so is it better to be with a person that has slept with 1000 people instead of someone that’s slept with 2, controlling all other factors?

I didn’t say they always were. I’m just speaking about likelihoods, now answer my question. Why don’t the higher body count people also lie about happiness levels? We’d expect to see a flat line in happiness if this were the case, not a downward trend.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/26 05:13 PM
6

You’re right they all just lied. Not like the divorce rates are a reliable indicator or anything. Why are the lower body counts somehow the only ones that you think are lying, but the other ones aren’t lying about their happiness?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/26 04:49 PM

This study controls for things like values, religiosity, economic status, etc, I literally addressed this in my comment.

Well it’s not really ridiculous, spouses with higher body counts (yes this applies to men too, not letting them get away with promiscuity either) have a substantially higher risk for divorce than those with lower, and it gets worse the higher your body count gets. This study controls for things like values, religiosity, economic status, etc, and finds that the risk is still substantially higher. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10989935/

You’re never going to be able to get a complete reason why in a study like this, but the reality is simple, a strong correlation exists, and having multiple partners shows a very strong one. They controlled for other predicted variables too. And staying married does not mean that the marriage is happy Well for one that’s why I linked the other one, but do you think divorce is any metric for happiness? Lmfao. …Who end up in the happiest marriages despite much less of them having “hoe phases”. The happiest marriages are comprised of two virgins. I’d have to find the study if you wanted it. Why would this be the case if not having a hoe phase means you’re missing out?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 01:01 AM

There's nothing here to suggest that is the case here Well that’s why one of the commenters asked why she found the men unattractive, with no response. Women are not men, and men don't get to determine for women how picky we "ought to" be - much less based on their own solipsism Well, we do actually. If you want to marry a guy he’s gonna have to pick you too. Yeah you can get an attractive guy to sleep with you easily but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna commit to you. Many women end up jaded becaus…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 04:16 PM

It’s fine to look bland or average as long as you’re not expecting to get somebody that looks amazing, and disappointed when you don’t. The reason it matters is because she may have misaligned standards. If she doesn’t find any of the men attractive, it could be very well true that her standards are far too high given her appearance.

I have never seen someone say only fans is a hard job until now and this has to be the funniest shit I’ve ever read. Just because they don’t make a lot of money doesn’t mean it’s hard to take some pictures of yourself. And we have feminism and the sexual revolution to thank for hookup culture.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/26 04:34 PM

This is the main correlate. Economy matters for sure, but from what I know most data points to women being in college and the workforce as the primary reason, it’s also partially why the average age of marriages and first births have gone way up (I think from early 20s decades ago to around late twenties-early thirties now). Most women don’t want to have a child when they’re in college or in the early phases of their career, and by the time they’re established, get married, and then get ready to…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/26 04:03 PM

And using my same source, can you add up the hours the male sole and primary breadwinners are doing? Add paid work, childcare, and housework. Add up their wives as well in those relationships, and tell me how many hours each works. Relinking the source here for clarity. https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/2023/04/13/in-a-growing-share-of-u-s-marriages-husbands-and-wives-earn-about-the-same/

If you do not do this I’m done talking to you. Tell me the percentage of male primary/sole breadwinners. Here’s my source: https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/2023/04/13/in-a-growing-share-of-u-s-marriages-husbands-and-wives-earn-about-the-same/
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/26 11:31 PM

I've given you 2 separate sources stating that in egalitarian and female sole and primary breadwinner relationships, women still do twice the childcare and chores than their husbands. These are only 45% of relationships, not the majority… I just read over the source you gave. You are the most outstanding person I have ever seen on this subreddit. Shes done this multiple times, not sure what to do when she just makes things up that I never said and ignores half the points I make. 84% of women work, 55% have a male breadwinners (sole = 23% primary =32%), and the other 29% is egalitarian. Her problem is she’s presuming all those 84% work the same amount of hours men do just because she’s classified them as “full time”. She also refuses to add up all of the hours being worked from Pew. She just says women do more housework and childcare. Tha…

So were the women working at their home or not when they did these things? When they were making baskets, farming, doing textiles, making food, and so on were they at their houses?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/26 04:32 PM

I had a longer post typed out, bit I’m just gonna ask you these questions. Did you add up the percentage of male breadwinners? How much more hours do they work than their wives if you add up the paid work, childcare, and housework? I’ve been through this time and time again and I’m pretty sure it was with you. You have absolutely refused to add up the amount of male breadwinners, and add the actual total work they’re doing in contrast with their wives. Also who quoted me im flattered Edit: also …

Raising children was far more important. It’s not that women didn’t do work around the house, but there’s a reason it was, well, around the house. They could actually keep an eye on their children. Yes, other women helped. They were usually friends and family members. We had actual communities instead of outsourcing it to a daycare facility. Most women were NOT leaving their house to go to work, I don’t know where you got that from. There’s a reason that they did most of their work in the home, …

Keep in mind that before modern industrialisation, you couldn't afford to have 60-70% of the population (women and children) not providing services to the community. Things we take for granted today took more hands and time to accomplish. Women didn't just stay home taking care of kids, because she would be working on the jobsite with her kids. And if a woman's job was primarily childcare, it was more often her taking care of other women's kids (like the kids too young to join their mothers on t…

I didn’t say anyone was forcing anyone. I just said it isn’t a realistic option. It is for women because we’ve put out a bunch of messaging to men for the past 50-60 years or so that we shouldn’t care about women’s traditional roles, and so now men don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 04:18 PM

Let’s not pretend like this is an actual option for most men. Most men will refuse to date any guy that makes less money than them. Only about 16% of relationships have a female breadwinner. 55% have a male breadwinner, and 30% are egalitarian. We can choose to provide all or most of the money, egalitarian meaning we make the same (usually women prefer men make more though), but we will almost never have the opportunity to make less or stay home. Feminism has caused men to accept women’s choice …

Women have always been able to work, but that doesn’t mean they did (if we’re defining work as paid work that is, not work around the house). My understanding is that when we started tracking it around the 1800s to 1900s it was only about 1/5th of women, and those were mostly widows or single, usually young women who hadn’t gotten married yet, or older women who’s children had grown older. Second wave feminists like Simone de Beauvoir absolutely propagated the idea that women should work. It’s w…

What a dumbass post. You completely ignored the other category of “primary breadwinner”, and just included sole breadwinners. Male primary breadwinners make up 31% of relationships, and sole male breadwinners 23%. These categories together make up about 55% of relationships. In primary male breadwinner households, the man does about 3 more hours of work INCLUDING CHORES AND CHILDCARE. It’s about 15 more hours in male sole breadwinners households. Even in “egalitarian” relationships, the men stil…

Again, your position can always be filled by someone else, and they’d arguably be more compatible. Same thing vis versa. I don’t know why it’s such a bad thing to not be special. There is always someone that’s funnier and smarter and has quirks that he finds even more endearing. We live on a planet with 8 billion people after all. Because in the effort to get rid of what they call “toxic masculinity” they throw the baby out with the bath water and decide the problem is masculinity as a whole. If literally the only things you focus on about a subject are the negatives you’re soon going to see the whole thing as negative and get rid of it entirely when there’s plenty of masculine things that are positive. Now I disagree with the idea of “toxic masculinity” entirely but I’m just doing an internal critique.

Most people are replaceable, there’s no way around that. Arguably, there’s an even better match for almost every person that’s in a relationship. What you are isn’t what’s special. What’s special and irreplaceable is what you build together with the person you’re with. I’m not sure why you yourself need to be some special diamond, chances are you’re not and neither am I and chances are neither are the people interested with you.

Do you think nursing, teaching, and childcare aren't essential building blocks to society? Women also make up 50% of admissions to med school and law school. I didnt say they weren’t important, I just said they’re the same jobs. If the idea was that they were barred from building society due to oppression keeping them out of jobs, we’d expect now that that oppression is over that they’d move towards those jobs that “build society”, but they don’t. Then why are the top 10 most popular jobs for women damn near the exact same jobs they did ~100 years ago? They’re doing mostly clerical work, nursing, teaching, childcare, etc. the only real difference is farm work is now replaced with HR. Also women have always been able to be educated, including in the Middle Ages. Most people weren’t educated (both men and women), but yes, upper class women were educated. Especially so in the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 01:14 PM

Yes. If a teen for instance has a job, they still pay federal income taxes. They also pay sales taxes whenever they buy something. We tax them and yet we don’t allow them to vote. Should they be allowed to vote since they get taxed?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 12:45 PM

So the sexual revolution never happened, and VERY prominent feminists like Simone de Beauvoir never said women shouldn’t be stay at home moms, and feminists in Eastern Europe never advocated that children belong to the state and not the family unit? Margaret Sanger never went halfway around the world abandoning her children? Feminists never sought for heavy developments in birth control, or eliminating no fault divorce? WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME It’s not about whether or not they “submit to them” in the moment. That’s stupid, no ones asking them to blindly submit to any man. It’s whether or not they WOULD do it in a marriage. I’m completely fine with them having strict standards if they’re actually holding to their own duties too. Not ALL the time but it absolutely helps. Sometimes women need the same too. Not sure why this is such an insane take to you. At the very least I can say I’d have less friends and less strong friendships if I never had male only spaces like I did with football when I was younger, or even when my friends hop in a game or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 12:23 PM

Lmao don’t complain and cry about conservative men on behalf of conservative women if you didn’t want anyone to scrutinize the women. Most churches not being like that is my entire point. They’ve been overly feminized because they don’t want to offend women. The Bible quite literally tells women to submit to their husbands, for example, and not the inverse. Long story short, the reason is the husband represents Christ as the bridegroom, and the wife the church as the bride, and the church submit…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 03:23 AM

That’s how we tend to get to know each other. Either we’re doing something together like a sport, or we’re talking shit to each other, usually about a sport. That’s how a coworker and I got to know each other, for example. How many women do you know that are fine with their friends calling them fat or ugly or something? Stop pretending it’s the same lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 02:59 AM

Feminism advocated for the destruction of the nuclear family. Not specifically financial leverage.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 02:57 AM

I’m confused. Are you saying that in order for men to make make friends, they MUST have access to spaces that are completely void of any women at all? The mere presence of a woman prevents you from making friends with a man? Can you explain this phenomenon to me? Read your own fucking post. You’re literally asking if men need to have spaces without women, not whether or not we have them right now. You literally asked that in your first sentence.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 02:56 AM

Of course. Women have made relationships entirely transactional and so that’s what we have. People are worse off for it, but that’s how it goes. Healthy families and marriages are the backbone of society. We’ve killed off the idea that we should do what’s best for society and instead do what’s best for ourselves. Feminism did this by destroying the nuclear family.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/25 08:53 PM

What are you talking about? I’m just explaining how the dynamics are different when a woman is involved, I’m not even making a comment about whether or not they’re pushing into men’s spaces. You’re literally the one wondering why men need male only spaces, I just explained it. Stop pivoting your stance.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/25 08:48 PM

It’s biblical which is what it’s usually based on. The idea is that the husband represents Christ and the wife the church, who submits to Christ’s authority. I don’t really see a reason for marriage at all for atheists beyond tax benefits.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/25 08:35 PM
-4

I mean we as men definitely do have different dynamics and a woman being involved changes that. Usually we couch our language a lot more. Me and my friend relentlessly bully each other sometimes. He did it when I was unemployed, I call him short, he called me fat when I was overweight, etc. they’re all just jokes and banter to us and we laugh and it’s how we bond. We don’t do that with women typically. Most women don’t take too kindly to being called fat lol.

And are these women traditionally feminine, okay with staying at home and caring for multiple children, and submitting to their husbands authority? The last of those is often the kicker. Most of them have an attitude of “well women should be able to choose what they want” whereas traditional conservative values doesn’t hold to that. Traditional values hold both men and women to specific duties and responsibilities regardless of what they want. For example, it’s my duty to protect, provide, and g…

This isn’t true. It’s about 50/50. In fact, in non reciprocal cases with only one abuser, women were the abuser 70% of the time. This means the old idea of a battered wife huddled in a corner while her husband beats her is actually far more likely to be the opposite. Id guess the reason is that men aren’t supposed to hit women socially, but not sure. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1854883/ Almost 24% of all relationships had some violence, and half (49.7%) of those were reciprocally vi…

“ The NISVS’s 12-month prevalence estimates of sexual victimization show that male victimization is underrepresented when victim penetration is the only form of nonconsensual sex included in the definition of rape. Not sure where you got that about women in church. If you’re in a bad denomination then maybe. The actual problem is the church has been hijacked by feminists too. I’ve always heard pastors chastise men, but never women because “that isn’t nice”. In part, I think everyone is going to have to deal with a tiny bit of feminist in their women because that’s the society we live in, but as men in traditional relationships were leaders and so I think there’s many that can be guided out of that if you a…

The fuck does that have to do with what I said? I don’t even hold the view that women in general are only attracted to the top % of men. I’m not even sure how this is relevant. Even if it was, the implication is that women won’t rape ugly people. Can you fucking imagine the uproar if I ever said the reverse?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 04:42 PM

Uhh how the hell do you think we got people to stop smoking? You can't force attraction, don't just "lol" about it ffs Yes you can, this idea that you can’t needs to die off. Not sure why it’s so widespread. Standards change all the time. We can literally look at people being attracted to more career women now compared to 70-80 years ago, for example. Literally the clothing we wear, hairstyles, and so on change and our attraction with it.

Exactly. Most men are fine with being drafted, the problem is that they’re held to traditional standards where women aren’t. Feminists and others like to say they’re not in favor of a draft so they can look nice, but they’re not actually in favor of it in practice I can almost guarantee. If another country were to invade with the intent of massacring all the men and enslaving the women, no feminist is going to be against the draft were it needed, and I’m not against it either, because I believe …

Like how CDC, FBI, and Congress advisor and the most cited woman in feminist literature Mary P Koss intentionally excluded men from being included as rape victims by defining rape as penetrative in nature, meaning if a woman forces you to penetrate them it’s not counted as rape? Here’s the quote: Although consideration of male victims is within the scope of the legal statutes, it is important to restrict the term rape to instances where male victims were penetrated by offenders. It is inappropri…

I’m very traditional, and I’ve been saying this for a long time, but for some reason I still see women complaining “men ain’t shit” because some guy pumped and dumped them because they too can’t go 5 seconds without getting off apparently. Wait until you’re married, if you can’t do that wait until you’re in love, if you can’t do that; then wait until you’re in a committed relationship. I think it’s dumb though to make blanket statements like “men want sex and women commitment” when clearly the w…

Selfish entitled behavior is a moral failing and I don’t want it encouraged in society. To offer you an olive branch, I do the same for promiscuous men, or men who demand their women do everything for them while they lay on the couch all day.

/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 05:54 PM

Because it makes no difference. But a 0.1% difference does, in which you completely ignored when I called you out? The impact is almost the most important bit. If nobody suffered from violence or if everyone even enjoyed it, violence wouldn't be a problem. The impact isn’t relevant to how often something happens. They're not. And it seems no amount of stats will make you understand that because you likely have a personal agenda here. Like the stats you just linked that show equal rates (with men…

It’s not about “validation”. It’s about holding these people accountable and shaming them so other people don’t exhibit that kind of behavior. Poor, egocentric behavior shouldn’t be accepted. Why is it so hard for you to agree that people shouldn’t behave this way?

No I really just want you to answer my question. By the way, if we want to complain about confirmation bias and ignoring things, why didn’t you include the part literally right before the severe physical violence stats that shows 5.5% of men reported any violence compared to 4.5% of women reported any violence? Men not reporting that they needed some form of help as much of women, or that it impacted them in some fashion, isn’t relevant to our discussion. We’re currently hashing out whether or n…

When it comes to physical violence in relationships, it remains asymmetrical if we look at: - severe physical violence (anything more than a slap or push) 3.1% women (3.9 million) reporting any severe physical violence in the last 12 months 3.0% men (3.5 million) reported experiencing any severe physical violence by an intimate partner in the last 12 months Did you just give a 0.1% difference between this and say it’s asymmetrical?

I’ll just grant that as long as it you’re willing to agree that women are not meeting the standards they’re putting onto men.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 09:06 PM

So to be clear, we should NOT express our anger to another person, and instead we should find a healthier method to calm ourselves down, think through the situation rationally, and come up with a better solution when we’re more stable? I’m perfectly fine with this answer if this is your view.

How is anger expressed to another person?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 08:26 PM

I mean are we presupposing that women somehow are attractive and emotionally intelligent? They’re more likely to be obese than men, twice as likely to be severely obese as men, and far more likely to have mental health issues. Why do we always ignore that these women aren’t meeting the standards they demand of men?

Of course I can agree that they’re responsible for the majority of violent crime. What I don’t agree with is that domestic violence isn’t 50/50, but thanks for the red herring. Women don’t have the risk of getting shot, mugged, assaulted, and so on by random people to the same degree that men do. That has absolutely nothing to do with what we’re saying. The rates are still 50/50, therefore men and women still have an equal chance of being abused. Men just have other things to worry about too.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 05:43 PM

1. We’re talking about domestic violence. It doesn’t matter that it’s a small snapshot when the perception is that men commit it more. Then let’s just use US data since the same phenomenon exists here. And yet the yearly rates do not show that. I’d trust the yearly rates a hell of a lot more than the lifetime stats, ESPECIALLY given that this could include people raped 50-90 years ago. The actual yearly rates are even. Yes actually it’s from a person who writes erotica that’s literally on this thread right now. Here’s what she said. So, unless you're reading the works and grasping the actual narrative, what men often characterize as "women's version of porn," can honestly be far more transcendent.

How do you reconcile this with your initial comment? Quoting here so it’s easier to see. Note that when I say “provide” I mean monetarily. The difference is that men don’t have children. Men won’t pay a marriage penalty, and men won’t be financially vulnerable. It reads more like you’re saying men should provide (monetarily) because women get pregnant.

Dude I’m literally just asking should they provide, you can qualify it but I want at least a yes or no. Here’s a quote from Elizabeth Cady Stanton, one of the most influential and famous feminists of all time. She was probably the most prominent leader of the first wave feminists in the 19th century, and considered one of the greatest women’s rights advocates of all time by modern feminists. We are, as a sex, infinitely superior to men, and if we were free and developed, healthy in body and mind, as we should be under natural conditions, our motherhood would be our glory. That function gives women…

That’s tough shit lmao. Time to get some thicker skin and not get offended by things that aren’t offensive in the first place. We can just do both. Believe it or not, socially shaming people is a very good strategy for fixing these types of behaviors. Not sure why we wouldn’t also do this for women especially if they’re the ones “at fault”.

I have no problem if someone says “men are animals” depending on the context. It’s almost like phrases can be derogatory or perfectly valid and okay depending on the context and we can’t make blanket statements about how they’re used! I’m shocked! It’s almost like the word “female” isn’t bad or derogatory unless it’s used in a bad or derogatory manner thus there’s no need for people to be upset when the word is used!

No, but they’re complaining about men not living up to their traditional roles when one of the entire points of feminism was to eliminate traditional roles. It did for men’s expectation for women, but it didn’t eliminate women’s expectations for men. How many women are willing to date men that make less money than them? Not fucking many, it’s about 15%. If the goal is about equality then that means… equality. If you don’t advocate that areas where women are superior to men should be made equal, then that’s not equality by definition. Saying “feminism is only about equality for women and not men” is a contradictory definition. I’m not sure I’m understanding what you’re asking. What I’m saying is if you have more people, the wages aren’t going to go up because that skill becomes less valuable. If only one person can do a job, that person can make their price because no one else can do it. If 100 people can do a job, the employer can name their price because if it’s too little for one person, he’s got 99 other people and he just needs 1 that’s willing to work for a lower wage.

I’m not sure if we’re allowed to debate abortion here, but this is terrible logic. Fetus is simply the name we give to a stage of life, just as we do infant, toddler, teenager, etc. If your child is a toddler, they’re still your child. Just say they’re not a person, that’s the only consistent logic you can have. I think they are, but don’t know if this is the place to debate that. The general argument is that women in the work force is a large factor for why wages decreased and haven’t risen. There’s a strong correlation in the 70s and wages not rising. Women doubled the workforce, it makes sense that when there’s more people, you have a greater supply, and thus less wages because more and more people can do the work. Most that I see aren’t in favor of banning women from the workforce, they usually accept that today you just have to make ends meet. I’ve seen people adding…

I’m not asking what the survey specifies I’m asking what you yourself thinks. I suspect you don’t have one because you don’t know and you haven’t thought about it. Given that that’s most likely the case, you should revisit your argument before trying to make one that you don’t even understand.

What a strawman. I literally said “don’t be awkward” in my first post. This implies a basic level of social skills that make people not want to avoid you.

He should compensate based off of how much time the woman is sacrificing from having the child. If she’s out for 3 months, he should make up the difference in his lifetime salary. So if you make 2,000 a month (arbitrary number, adjust based on her salary), he should make an extra 6,000 dollars over his career to compensate. Assuming he had around 50 years left, he should be making about $120 more in his yearly salary. We can throw in an extra $50 just to be nice too. It’s the perfect compromise!…

Okay then what % should men provide? Why not 50% if we actually want equality? If men are supposed to be providers then should women be mothers and nurturers, or do you just want women to get all of the benefits of traditional relationships with none of the responsibilities? Sorry, but no, it’s not acceptable for you to have some easy low stress HR job while he busts his ass as a software engineer or something if you want equality. Not all 40 hours are created equal.

By comparison, 32% say it’s very important for a woman to do the same to be a good wife or partner, according to a new Pew Research Center survey.

Exactly because you don’t want to admit some women can be irrational as fuck and pop off at something tiny. This is the exact problem he’s talking about. You’re not bringing any perspective at all because you won’t answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 08:22 PM
3

Bro why can people not read? I say women are more emotional than men, and somehow you interpret that as me saying men aren’t emotional. Nobody’s saying men aren’t emotional, we’re saying that research tells us women are more emotional than men. This is including emotions like anger.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:36 PM
2

Just answer my question instead of answering my question with a question. Let’s just assume OP is being fully honest and they’re flipping shit because they didn’t get cuddles. Can you at least admit that’s bad and childish and we should hold women like that accountable? Saying “well I can’t answer” is just a cop out. We can just assume this is a fully theoretical situation and we can at least figure out a principle.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:34 PM
3

I mean that’s fine but I’m not sure why you brought an extra qualifier in unless you were just adding to what I said.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:33 PM
3

What the hell does that have to do with what I said? It’s still better to use your words. Body language can be extremely vague and hard to interpret, ESPECIALLY when it comes to romantic situations.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:32 PM
6

How in the hell is somebody supposed to know someone is or isn’t interested in them unless they ask first? You’re not going to know they aren’t interested unless you ask, is just asking considered a betrayal or something?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:29 PM
3

And they’re extremely vague and it’s far more difficult in practice to determine whether or not someone is actually interested in you. Why don’t women just use their words instead?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 06:31 PM
2

Is spazzing out because you don’t get cuddles at night an okay and adult way to handle that situation?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 06:29 PM
5

Going into a friendship then later falling in love is not betrayal, so there was no pretending. Getting to know someone as a friend first and then shooting your shot is not dishonest or a betrayal either. This is what women have told men to do instead of cold approaching them.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 06:28 PM

We’re not talking about violence we’re talking about ALL emotions. Stop shifting the argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 06:26 PM

I’m gonna repeat myself that these outbursts of anger are already included under the umbrella of neuroticism and women still display higher levels of neuroticism. I’d like you to address that instead of avoiding it, thank you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 04:35 PM
1

I’m curious. How would you react if a guy told you that he’s not going to put up with that shit? I’m genuinely curious because some women do this as a type of test, or they’ve never been told no, some respond negatively and some positively.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 04:13 PM
7

I don’t think the scheduling is the problem, it’s moreso the spazzing out and flipping shit because your guy couldn’t cuddle you. Are you actually ever going to hold these women accountable for their childish behavior? Why are we even questioning OP as if the issue is a misaligned schedule and not the women acting like petulant children? I’m not sure why we treat women like they’re toddlers that we just expect to behave like this.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 04:11 PM
3

What are you talking about? Women have higher levels of neuroticism. Anger falls under the umbrella of neuroticism, and women still display higher levels of it. “Punching holes in the wall” is already included in this metric, and women have higher overall levels. You just notice it more when men ade emotional because it’s much less common and more dangerous since it usually manifests as anger. That doesn’t mean men are more emotional overall. They even display much higher levels of mental health…

Are you actually going to give him an example like he asked or just outsource your thinking to a full Wikipedia article that isn’t even specific to romantic relationships? No, randomly glancing for half a second, or walking near a guy at a bar isn’t a social cue. Some women consider looking at a man and smiling a social cue, others don’t. Is it really that hard for you to admit that women can be very vague with their cues or something?

It’s a very weird thing today. People have lost the ability to deal with any bit of discomfort in their relationships (both platonic and romantic), and it makes people feel awkward to know someone’s interested, so they consider that awkward uncomfortable feeling a bad thing, therefore they betrayed them. Or they’ll believe that the man deceived them by “pretending to be their friend” and then going out with them. In reality, either the person initially didn’t have romantic intentions and then fe…

Some are and some aren’t but we certainly bond over it. To be clear, I don’t think anyone is saying those are the ONLY things you should be doing to get in a relationship. It’s that they’re more tangible and clear than some vague “be a better person” or something. You can’t exactly make a prescription like that online. It’s a lot easier to tell someone to cover the fundamentals first. It’s not the only thing that matters, but I can’t see a world where becoming more fit, healthy, and having a sta…

It is, but for some reason everybody thinks that the most likely answer can’t be the answer for them. Many people will have mental health problems, they’ll eat like shit, hardly get enough (or too much) calories, have terrible sleeping habits, never exercise, and then when someone tells them they should maybe change that they lash out. Men are already putting in far more hours in most relationships (about 3-15 hours more in the majority of relationships when you add paid work, housework, and childcare. This also excludes male focused work like yard work, repairs, and driving). They do FAR more emotional labor too. I’m not s…

Exactly. We can call it patriarchy if we like, but that traditional system was literally set up because it was optimal for our survival. We can debate on whether or not it’s still needed, but it’s not some weird dynamic where people just wanted to enslave women or something. Some people certainly go to the extreme, but in the western world they typically didn’t.

/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/25 12:47 AM

Yeah that’s not an answer to my question. Why do you hold him to this standard? I don’t care that his standard is to do more for his woman than she does for him, I’m asking why you hold the standard. Why do you require a man pay for your food?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/25 12:14 AM
1

So we shouldn’t hold women to social standards. This would be done BY MEN. Logically, this means men had to change their behavior to not play into that social stigma by definition because they’d be the ones holding them to a traditional role. Logically, the inverse is true and women should also not hold that traditional role for men. Great, we can say men shouldn’t date women who ask to pay, but why in the hell would we also not include women on this and say they should stop holding that standar…

That’s not what I said. When a man sees an attractive pornstar or model or something online, with perfect bodies and makeup and so on, women argued this was causing harmful beauty standards for women. This is a direct complaint against men’s standards, not women asking for their own preferences or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 10:53 PM

I just want to get this perfectly clear. We should NOT hold women to this social standard, right? As in, it would be harmful to do so?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 10:51 PM

I would say he’s doing more because you’re holding him to an additional standard while not having an equivalent. Why do you hold him to this standard?

Have you ever heard of the term gish gallop? In the interests of not getting mired down by asking for 10 different laws and then breaking them all down, I’ll just go into the social pressure since that’s the most comparable. I want you to answer my actual question. I’m not asking for a descriptor, I’m asking for a prescription. SHOULD we hold women to traditional social roles, and create a stigma around not following it?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 10:40 PM
7

You must have been living under a rock for the past 10-15 years then. Hell, a good example of this is porn. Many women complain about the effect this has on beauty standards for women. That’s just one example, but it’s the same concept applied to other forms of entertainment and not just porn.

Women were able to work, vote, and all of that stuff. This is all feminist nonsense by women’s studies professors that we take as fact now for some reason. I’ve asked people for specific laws multiple times and they can’t give me any without making some vague statement about how something might have been used to oppress women. By early 1900s, I’m talking about post 19th amendment (which women were actually against, by the way until 1917 or so!) They had bank accounts too. The reason many women a…

Would you have said that in the early 1900s where we still held women to traditional norms? That women “didn’t have” to be traditional and submit to their husbands if they didn’t want to, and that they should stop complaining about “the patriarchy”? Do you disagree with feminists on this or do you think feminism was a good thing?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 10:21 PM

Lmfao do you think women have literally any duties at all that men don’t also have? You can have that standard, sure, but it’s also a double standard and you’re asking for more than you give. Your husband is gracious to you for doing it. Your husband is literally putting more into the relationship than you are by your own definition. You’re holding him to traditional standards, he’s not doing the same for you. This is not an equal exchange. Sorry to break it to you but it’s true.

I have a coworker who got reported for asking a woman to lunch. It wasn’t even romantic funnily enough, he’s married and wanted to go over something with her. Sorry, but nobody wants to take that risk. That, or if you do it in public you have to deal with someone screaming at you in front of a bunch of people that you’re harassing them because you said hello. My sisters have done that to a few guys and gleefully talk about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/25 05:06 PM

Does society think men should be the first to pay for dates, and that men should provide? Not what you think, but what society thinks.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/25 05:03 PM

I’m not sure why we act like women don’t have similar issues. They get upset when you express your emotions because they don’t know how to handle another man’s emotions, they want them to make more money than them, they’re overly materialistic and focused on their social status, they’re extremely hard to please because they want to keep up with the joneses and do whatever popular couple is doing on TikTok, they’re excessively neurotic and mentally unwell and lack the ability to control their own…

/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 01:32 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 02:48 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 01:08 AM

Is the woman doing a good thing by telling her husband to work because she doesn’t want to be around him?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 01:07 AM

That’s nice but that doesn’t answer my question. I want an answer to what I asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 11:06 PM

Wait so is this woman doing a good thing in this relationship by forcing her husband to work because she doesn’t want to be near him all the time?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 11:02 PM
9

Yup I think we won’t get any further, so I’ll just rest my case by saying that anyone who reads this exchange should realize that the person who thinks “men are blind to women’s issues” believes the majority of men approve of rape. I think that speaks for itself and more than proves my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 10:56 PM
6

That’s what I thought lmao. It’s hard for me to believe you yourself aren’t blind to men’s struggles when I’ve just had a conversation talking to you where you said most men approve of rape. I can’t imagine anything more out of touch.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 08:42 PM
12

No shit I’m going to press you on your view of what mens struggles are, you just tried to assert men are blind to women’s struggles. I’m asking to see if you’re also blind to men’s struggles. There’s no couched language or anything here from me. If I just made a blanket generalization about women, I’d expect pushback too. Not sure why you’re so shocked.

I’m curious, what do you think men’s struggles consist of?

I could just as easily argue that men don’t want to date up because women are more likely to divorce them when they are, because they themselves see the men as inferior. The funny thing though, is that I don’t even necessarily disagree. Men usually don’t want to date someone higher than them in income, women don’t want to date someone lower. There’s all sorts of biological/social reasons for this (women innately want a provider/protector because they had children). The problem isn’t that women w…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 06:18 PM

So there is a different standard then, and men date down while women date up, meaning men don’t care about status at least not nearly to the same degree. If we’re referring to income, this isn’t true either. Men date down in income as well for the most part, not across.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 03:34 AM

What if a man wants to be a provider with a submissive stay at home mother? Does feminism say that choice is okay, or do they say he’s an evil overlord who wants a bangmaid?

I’ll try this a different way then. Do beauty standards change over time? Not that there aren’t certain unchangeable characteristics, but do at least some change over time? By this I mean do people find different types of clothing , body types, markings like tattoos, hair styles/types, body shapes, and so on attractive as time goes on?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 11:39 PM
5

Does porn increase men’s beauty standards for women? As in, if men see a bunch of beautiful models on IG or in porn, is that going to change their perception of the average woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 10:54 PM
8

Didn’t you literally JUST say in your previous post women tend to date across and up? What is the implication that MUST exist on how men date if women date across and up? Even if most women date across (however this is defined; if it’s by income then most date up), how are the men that the women are dating up dating? Are they both dating up somehow?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 10:53 PM
3

What do you mean? This is PRECISELY the ethos of feminism; to steel man their position, they’d say that “we should allow women to have choices and we shouldn’t stigmatize or shame them for it”. How in the hell is that not just saying what the guy you’re responding to is saying? Some behaviors SHOULD be shamed.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 09:29 PM

What is so bad about being dependent on your partner? In fact, a very common talking point here is that men are much more dependent on their wives, which is why men want to be married more. How in the hell is it bad to be dependent on a person you love? No one’s advocating you should be forced into a relationship with someone. No one I know of is advocating you have to stay with abusers. Even the idea of “well they’ll be behind in their careers!” Is inaccurate because we have alimony specificall…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 09:21 PM

I wouldn’t even say women should “lower their standards”. It would be more accurate to say that they need to appropriately assess their own selves and to stop inflating their own value. Sorry, but most women aren’t 9s/10s no matter how much their friends want to gas them up and say they are.

Do you not understand that the existence of “up” means those men are dating down? The entire point is that this is not a standard that goes both ways. Women care about social status, men don’t. We can’t ignore up just because some also date across.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 03:19 AM

Because women delay childbirth due to college and establishing themselves in the workforce, and then they’re in their later years where they’re less fertile and it’s harder to have a lot of children. It’s a lot more to do with that than just “marriage bad for women!!!”, though I do think that plays a small role.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 03:18 AM

Right, so you just made it the fuck up, lmao.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/25 03:18 PM

He was the one who said probability didn’t matter. I’m saying it does, that’s my entire point. If the choice were actually what you mentioned, obviously you’d just get shot. My point is that that isn’t the dilemma, and that a bear is far more likely to attack you than a man is to rape and kill you.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/25 03:13 PM

Source that most men are pro rape?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/25 03:12 PM

One of the entire major points is that they think that men are more dangerous than a bear. If they’re refusing to take into account factors that make bears more dangerous, but leaving the ones for men, it’s a flawed comparison, and you might as well say “would you rather come across a known rapist or a teddy bear in the woods”. They’re underestimating the chances that the bear may attack, and completely overestimating the chance of a human attacking. You’re throwing on “emotional regulation” and…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/25 07:01 PM

Where’d you get that one from? I’m saying there’s different types of bears that can have different levels of aggression. That’s just biological fact. They’re more likely to attack if they’re a polar bear or a grizzly, or if they’re hungry, or with cubs. That’s what I mean by “bad intent”. The reason is because many come to the assumption that it’s just a standard black bear that’s gonna run away the second it sees you.

The assumption is always that the chance is that there’s a man with bad intentions, but there’s never an assumption that the bears species may be a more aggressive one, it may have cubs, it may be starving, and so on. It’s just assumed we’re talking about a random black bear who’s probably going to mind its own business. If we can make the argument that the man COULD be a person with …

Well no, that was your argument. My argument is that it's irrelevant for this discussion, as we are specifically talking about couples with children. I’m talking about the entire post, not just what the op of this chain said. It’s a moot point to bring up when women aren’t having children. When they do, they have one. Yup, you’ll “continuously go on dates” with men, but you’re not gonna get them to commit, just like you’ve already admitted here by saying you’re still dating instead of being exclusive. /r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 05:01 PM

Fuck it, I’ll even grant that it’s 5% and not 1%. Does that even factor in negotiations? Theres so many factors that even a 5% difference is not enough to cry discrimination. I’m not even sure how you substantiate that the difference is BECAUSE of discrimination. What are your numbers controlling for? This isn’t debunking anything, you just gave a 5% value and instantly leaped to the assumption that it’s because “MUH WAGE GAP” instead of any other factor. That’s like me saying men are discrimina…

/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 04:44 PM

Again, relevance? Just go look at the top jobs held by women. It’s clerical, secretarial, and HR work (nursing is an exception to this). I guess that’s more stressful than driving a truck for 24 hours straight or building a house, or being a software engineer though.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 04:40 PM

Again, what does it have to do with the topic at hand? Because your argument was that women are still fulfilling their traditional duty of being a mother, but that they were just waiting. The problem is, if you’re waiting, you have a clock on how much children you have. This leads to less children being produced and is the cause of low birth rates. Sure, I can agree that that would be a problem. I think where we might differ is how often that is occurring in reality. And again, when it comes to …
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 04:33 PM

You ever heard of the term “statistical noise” or “margin of error”? No, I’m not going to give you a single cent because I don’t owe you anything. I understand you’re trying to argue the point that 1% is a substantial margin, but you’re misunderstanding my point. It’s not to say women should be paid 1% less than men because they’re women, the point is that it’s statistically irrelevant because we can reasonably assume that it’s just an imperfection in the way statistics are measured.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 03:56 PM

What does that have to do with what I said? Most women or men aren’t part of the judicial system.

We might be using different definitions. Infrastructure probably isn’t the best word to use, but I’m referring to things like mechanics, electricians, construction workers, truck drivers, IT professions (things like software engineers, sys admins, network admins, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 03:50 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 03:22 PM

But they very much are, they are just waiting to have them. Plus, it's a moot point, we're specifically talking about couples with children. Statistically, child free couples are already more egalitarian than their counter parts and the chore gap is much less pronounced. They’re not. Birth rates have fallen below replacement levels. Yes, they’re waiting, about 10 more years than they used to to be exact. They’re waiting until about 30, guess what happens? A higher maternal age, which means women…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 03:21 PM

They make literally one cent less than men. One fucking penny, stop trying to pretend like that’s significant. I’m not sure how we’re still spreading the wage gap myth in 2025. I think they don’t want them because we’ve spent decades trying to get them into these fields and offered them incentive after incentive and they still hardly get into those fields. They are still by and large doing the exact same jobs they did 100 years ago, except HR is swapped out with farm work now. No, most women are…

Lmfao so you just exist and that’s “courting” for you? Literally just existing and having a guy take you out on a date and paying for your meal is “emotional labor”? Ironically, it’s this attitude that men have to deal with that is a major source of our emotional labor. No, you aren’t the prize.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 03:05 PM

They don’t because we can just look at statistics for this. About 70% say it’s important for a man to financially provide, only about 30% say so for women. As you said, there’s also no obligation to “create a family” either, so that’s just agreeing with my point that there isn’t a duty to be a mother today, which would be the equivalent of a man financially providing besides also financially providing (that’s the whole point of the man providing historically). https://www.pewresearch.org/short-r…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 03:04 PM

They don’t work the same jobs. I’m sure there’s overlap, but men tend to work infrastructure jobs and such whereas women do more clerical/secretary/HR/teaching/daycare work, nursing is a notable exception though. Even if it were true that they mostly worked same jobs, it would still be the case that the majority of people in high stress jobs are men.

I’m not doubting that there’s more men, but even by your statistics it’s not a huge difference (27% vs 34%). It also doesn’t break this down by age. I think it’s reasonable to expect that dating apps are much more commonly used amongst people in their 20s-30s instead of older people; I might have missed it, but I didn’t see any numbers there to reflect that. And while this is anecdotal, the same issue still manifests itself online OFF of dating apps, like Instagram, Snapchat, etc. Most girls DM’…

It’s important because strong marriages and healthy families are the backbone of society. People in healthy marriages do much better in almost every domain of life. Why would we not try to create more healthy marriages? The solution to me is not to avoid marriage because many are bad, it’s to start creating healthy marriages. That comes with establishing accountability for people. Why would we not push for things that make society better?

This just doesn’t hold up to me. If this were the case, we’d see more men getting swipes instead of a small % hogging almost all of the likes. I’d have to double check the stats to confirm that, but I believe it’s true. You’d expect to see a more even distribution, obviously some people are just insanely overweight or something and they can be excluded though.

My only problem is when that becomes “I’m not going to date anyone below a 10”. I don’t mind that it takes time for women to be attracted to someone over time, it’s just that especially with dating being done online, people below that threshold get automatically excluded now. Previously it wasn’t as big a deal. We’d all meet in person, and you’d eventually learn about the person and naturally become attracted because you were both in each others presence. Now you just swipe and never see that pe…

But women today aren’t really having children, so I’m not sure why it’s brought up. I agree it would be equivalent were that the case, but women aren’t having children, and when they do, they’re outsourcing the raising to daycares or school. Go ask the average person if a man has a duty to provide for their family. They’ll say yes. Ask the average person if a…

If someone had to bust their ass for years grinding certs/skills/experience, and then take a high stress high paying job, that is not equivalent to someone taking on an HR or incident management job even if they both work 8 hours. Also, men still do more hours worth of work even if we add in housework/…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/25 01:09 PM

Well yeah, you want the wealth gap to close, but you don’t want the type of job to change, lol. Women want an HR job to make as much as a stressful software engineer job, but women on average don’t want to do the actual software engineer job. Men make more BECAUSE they’re willing to take on a higher stress/higher responsibility job. When you actually control for all variables (same job, hours, etc) they make about the same (I believe women technically make 1 cent less so I guess there’s still ro…

I’m a Christian. The hierarchy as my previous pastor described it is God > husband > wife > children. This is the case regardless of who the breadwinner is, and this is the foundation of a traditional relationship in the west. Even if she was the one who made the money and the husband was sick and couldn’t No, I wouldn’t do it, and I’m not really interested in dating non traditional women. These men probably aren’t traditional men. Most probably aren’t these days, so it’s reasonable for them to …

It’s not a gotcha, it’s an explanation of what your belief actually entails. Many “traditional” women begin to scoff the second they realize that submitting to the husbands authority was the tradeoff for him having all of the responsibility. There’s some decisions that are smaller you guys can agree on like what bedroom the kids should be using, stuff like that, but the major decisions, the man had the final say. In practice, this might mean your man getting a great job in an entirely different …

Well if you want a gentleman you best act like a lady. That means no attitude, no entitled feelings, no promiscuity or dating multiple guys at once, showing gratitude (even for things that are expected or “the bare minimum”), behaving virtuously and so on. It also means he has the final say. You want a leader/traditional man, that’s fine, but don’t quibble with him when he makes a decision you disagree with even if you’re right. You can talk about it and advise him, but ultimately he’s the leade…

It’s really not as big of a problem as it seems. Look for someone with shared core values, and don’t sleep with them until you’re in love, or at the very least exclusive and boyfriend/girlfriend. Not necessarily easy in this day and age but it’s simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/25 10:09 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/25 07:57 PM

I typed entailment, not entitlement. And what does this even have to do with my argument? If most men can’t support a family, then that would logically be true that most women couldn’t either. From there it follows it’s better for the two to be together as one unit without involving others.

It's very unlikely that someone would endure bad company just to get a free meal. Bro what? Yes they do, this happens all the time. Happens with free drinks at a bar too, almost all of the women I know in my life have done it. It’s at least as common as men using women for sex and lying and saying they’ll commit. Women can get dinner without a man, but a man can't get sex without a woman, men have more of an incentive to tolerate a bullshit date to get sex than women do to get a burger. What? Wo…

I’m not sure this is a great long term solution for women to say “just be single” to one another if you can’t meet some unicorn guy. They still want relationships, it’s just a lot easier to put it on the back burner and wait for some top 5% dude when you’re in your early 20s and have 20 guys in your DM’s every day. It’s really easy to just say “well someone amazing will probably come along and if not, I’ll just be single” when you haven’t actually had to face the consequences of what that means.…

Do you understand the entailment of “most men didn’t reproduce while most women did”? Like, do you know that means women just had sex with a small number of men, and that they were one women amongst 5 others? Does that really sound good to you as a woman to be with a guy with 4 other women with 4 other kids that aren’t yours?

Because a society that’s hedonistic and individualistic and only cares for their own selfish needs is a worse society and makes things worse for everyone else? We have duties and responsibilities to one another. I’d even argue blind hedonism is NOT in your favor. It’s shallow and meaningless, and is not a long term solution to happiness. We don’t know much about meaning, but we do know it’s found in responsibility and duty to one another, and in difficult tasks that end up paying off.

Maybe to some extent, but I don’t think it’s nearly to the same degree as when you’ve had many partners. If that’s something you apply equally to both genders then I don’t really care and we can probably agree (maybe some minor differences in certain areas). My main contention is that I think this is something people are a lot more comfortable calling out in men than women, it’s a big double standard.

That’s my point. There’s just as much a “loser women” epidemic as there is a “loser male” epidemic so I’m not sure how this doesn’t cancel out your point. There’s plenty of women who have nothing going for them except a dead end job (if one at all), doomscroll on tik tok for 8 hours, don’t care for themselves, etc. People seem a lot more willing to call out the men than the women for some reason.

The idea is that it’s descriptively true that men could enslave women, and since that’s true, women rely on men for their ability to not be enslaved. Prescriptively, we ought not enslave women because that would be evil. I…

Wait are you implying that many first and second wave feminists weren’t sexual deviants? There’s a big reason abortion and birth control were and still are huge amongst feminists, lol.

You brought up grandmothers in the original post. To be clear, I blame any person who pushed second wave feminist ideals for the society we’re in, not just grandma.

I mean we can all just say the same towards women, that they tend not to have any empathy towards men. For example, it’s very easy for society to say a man’s duties and responsibilities are to protect and provide. Now what does society say a woman’s are in this day and age? You probably can’t answer it, or it’ll be some variation of “whatever they like”. You don’t know what it’s like to actually have duties, and to face shame and accountability for not fulfilling those duties. You guys get to ch…

I don’t disagree with you, but we absolutely have to analyze how we raised a bunch of coomers to see where we went wrong so we can see how to fix it. In my opinion, this means a return to virtue, and to re-integrate social duties and responsibilities for men and women to be virtuous, and to shame bad and hedonistic behaviors instead of just saying “haha it’s their own choice and we should be fine with and respect that!” like we did in the 70s with promiscuity. I think we all have duties and resp…

So just so I don’t misrepresent your argument, you’re essentially saying that personal choice is morally good, and that preventing people from making choices is bad in this context, right?

What makes traditional gender roles bad?

I’m not sure why it’s bad to want someone that depends on you. That’s literally the point of a relationship, you both depend on one another. Even if you both work, you still depend on one another. I’m not sure why you’re acting like this is some red flag.

Is this really that hard to tell where I’m getting at? Our grandparents and parents raised us without virtue, as the feminist sexual revolution that said it’s okay to be promiscuous and to engage in degenerate behavior. Now we have people raised with no virtue, and we’re surprised we have a bunch of gooners and destructive behaviors in society.

Uhuh and if they don’t do their job properly that would be in part their fault, right?

Do parents tend to pass on their virtues or lack thereof to their children?

Well I just want to understand specifically as it relates to this post. I understand the metaphor, I’m trying to understand the relevance to the post because it’s hard for me to gleam. I just want to understand what you’re saying so I don’t misrepresent you.

That was a result of second wave feminism and the sexual revolution. Their grandmothers were the ones that started this.

Who said that? I’m just drawing from scripture. It literally says so in Ephesians, and Christ constantly refers to himself as the groom, and the church as the bride. “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”

He was not crucified by the church. I am not sure where you are getting this from. The meaning of “church” here is his apostles. For the third time, when did he submit to the apostles?

I want you to answer my question actually. Did Christ submit to the authority of the CHURCH?

How about you answer my question instead of answering it with a question? Did Christ submit to the Church’s authority or not?

No, it does not say the husband submits to the wife. I’ve not seen that in any translation. I think that’s something a lot of Christians falsely spread around because it sounds nicer, but it’s not true. The hierarchy is God > Husband > Wife. Yes, as men we’re called to serve and sacrifice our lives for our wives in the same way that Christ did for the church, but that is not submission or obedience to the church. The church does not tell Christ what to do, nor does it tell Christ to follow its l…

This is not true in western Christian societies. Even arranged marriages required consent, and that’s due to the church heavily emphasizing that marriage must be consensual, as marriage is symbolic of the relationship between Christ and the church. I’ll concede that there’s certainly a ton of social pressure around that though. That said, this existed for BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, so you cannot say this was something that uniquely oppressed women. That said, the vast, vast majority of marriages were n…

Because “made to penetrate” isn’t classified as rape in most statistics, so it wouldn’t show up here. Meaning, if a woman puts a gun to a man’s head, climbing top of him, and forces him to penetrate her, that doesn’t get tracked. The rates have actually been upwards of 50/50 in a 12 month period if we look at CDC statistics and actually count “made to penetrate” as rape.

Then what did this verse right before it mean, if not for wives to submit to their husbands authority as leaders of the family? “ Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.” Now I agree that a husband is to serve his wife and to sacrifice; meaning they…
