Too much AF love here, I need to plug the good old USN. You are almost guaranteed to live somewhere relatively nice, IE on a coast. Cost of living is higher, but so is your housing pay to account for that. The IT, ET, and CT rates are pretty good, especially CTR and CTN.

Popular culture is deeply, deeply feminist. Mad Men is a feminist show. This. Anything by Judd Apatow. If gender roles were reversed in Magic Mike it would be labeled pornographic and obscene. Game of Thrones goes out of its way to make women into superheroes or super villains while exploring the depravity and failings of men. I'm trying really hard to think of some examples of shows with positive masculine role models, and I'm drawing a blank.
