The view of what men want is nonsense...? Of every relationship I've been in, only one of them has been because I find a woman particularly attractive. The relationship I'm in now is based on emotional and intellectual fulfillment; I'm not entirely secure about both of our pasts, but I understand that life happens. Later in life I'd ideally like to be a dad first and all else second, so I would most likely need a working partner - though money isn't particularly important to me so long as no one…

Not a private school, however it is situated in quite a middle/upper class area so most students are from a relatively well-off background. Funnily enough, ravenswood was also outstanding the whole time i was there; recognised as being excellent at preventing bullying.

I'm a boy coming from a UK all boys school; in my time at secondary school I learnt, or rather was taught, that any kind of exessive display of emotion was to be avoided at ALL COSTS. This was an idea re-enforced by students and teachers alike. Throughout my entire school life i cried twice on premesis, on one occasion it was because my eye was watering following a blow to the head so I'm not sure if that really counts (though it did to other students). This is coming from a perspective of quite…

The woman’s showers: I was referring to the private cubicles rather than the communal area.

There are women only cubicles but no men only cubicles; there are mixed cubicles men can use. I’m left waiting (if the gym is busy) for 10-15 mins if I want to use a cubicle, women rarely ever have to wait (I’ve never seen a woman waiting to use a cubicle).
/r/MensRights13/01/18 12:54 PM

There is a communal shower for men and a separate communal shower for women, because I don’t want to use the communal shower due to the aspects of my body I just mentioned I have to wait for whoever is in the cubicles to get out. Frequently the ‘women only’ cubicle won’t have anyone on it either because there’s no women who want it at the time or they just don’t care and use the mixed ones. If this cubicle was mixed then I wouldn’t have to wait as long to use a shower or WC.

But that’s sexist! There are no women only gyms!!! PATRIARCHY WANTS WOMEN TO BE OBESE SO THEY CAN FAT SHAME THEM!

The cubicles can be locked, however I often have to wait about ten minutes to let whoever is in the mixed ones to move out, the women’s showers (as in private cubicles) are frequently empty. I don’t care about my manhood being seen, I’m self conscious because I have a number of scars on my legs and back which I don’t want anyone to see; that includes men.

I would, but I’d like to keep my place at the gym lmao

Yes, think of it as a room with benches that people can change in, there are showers along the outside
/r/MensRights13/01/18 12:26 AM

Showering, I’m also UK but I’ve always seen bathroom as the room you wash in. A WC is for the toilet.
/r/MensRights12/01/18 02:55 PM

No, there’s private bathrooms and communal bathrooms; the communal areas are also separate. There are ‘women only’ private bathrooms but no men only private bathrooms (at a gym that is very much mainly men). I’m very self conscious about my body due to a number of past wounds so I can’t use the communal bathroom. It is extremely frustrating that there are no bathrooms available for ‘me’ even though there are bathrooms available. This issue comes up because people don’t really care what bathroom …

There’s also a communal shower room for women and for men, the gym is primarily men. I don’t know for a fact as I haven’t used the communal showers but what you’re saying seems pretty reasonable.

I specifically didn’t tag this discrimination because I don’t think it’s that bad, it’s just been mildly irritating me for a while that I (sometimes) have to wait long periods of time if I want a private bathroom.
/r/MensRights12/01/18 02:27 AM
2

Nope, the other option is using a non-private area. There are only 2 bathrooms I can use, they are quite often full which leaves me waiting for long periods of time (there are showers etc in the bathrooms).
/r/MensRights12/01/18 02:22 AM

Because it’s a gym used mainly by men so women need a toilet to themselves because that totally doesn’t just leave 2 bathrooms for 90% of the people :)
/r/MensRights11/01/18 09:15 PM

Didn’t tag it discrimination because it’s not all that serious, it’s just been mildly irritating me that it’s more difficult for me to get privacy at the gym (I’m very self conscious of my body)

Been seeing these in women’s bathrooms for years, glad to see them start appearing elsewhere :)

Didn’t even think of this, great point. I was thinking this was just a show of someone believing her side of the story and so ‘forgetting’.

It was accident though because who would ever want to portray men as perpetrators and women as victims??? Eksdee

Because if I complain there’s a better chance of the posters staying up for a longer period of time, also it gives me a platform where I can talk about things like IMD.

When in a genuinely abusive relationship it may be difficult to leave, especially if there are other factors in play (kids etc) so there should be a women’s helpline and the relevant resources available. Having said this, there should also be a publicised men’s helpline (it’s very difficult to just stumble across one) and an advert like this is damaging to men as they feel that cannot be abused, only be the abuser.

My college is based in the UK, do you know if I need to complain to a different organisation? PS: I’m a student representative and intend on bringing this up with staff at the next meeting if possible.
/r/MensRights06/12/17 04:05 PM

It’s bashing men by saying that they are the abuser, there’s no posters even nearly suggesting a woman could ever abuse a man. Also the helpline is ‘bexley women’s aid’. Say gay men again?

The point is that men are criticised for such behaviour while women aren’t.

The UK legally protects my right to post here and nothing on my post is incriminating. She can’t use it against me in court if it goes there.

Ok no. Dude, she’s young and probably doesn’t understand how much this has affected me. Responses like these are what get screencapped and shown on the news, I don’t want my account associated with it so avoid it in future if you could? I get that men’s rights are frustrating but getting annoyed doesn’t help.

Ok, thank you so much for your advice. Are screenshots alright in terms of backing up chats or should I load them onto my PC?

It depends on the individual, I feel really awkward when people catcall me (I'm a guy but attended a girls school for sixth form so I got a taste of it). As the response can vary so much between good and bad it's best to avoid it (in my opinion), you risk triggering PTSD (genuine PTSD not the tumblr bullshit, e.g. being stalked/raped... The example is genuine PTSD by the way). I think it's perfectly ok to compliment people you know openly, it's important when maintaining a relationship; catcalli…

Yes, the feminist tactic works but we shouldn't sink to their level or we could end up not dealing with the issues we set out to solve.
/r/MensRights20/05/17 08:49 PM

It is easily manipulated but it can decide what people see.
/r/MensRights20/05/17 08:48 PM

Precisely, in my case I wasn't making feminist arguments I was simply asking questions. When I come here and make statements I want to be proved wrong so that I can more effectively convince others that men's rights is a serious cause that needs to be fought for.
/r/MensRights20/05/17 08:47 PM

If you read my comments, I don't disagree with people. I ask questions. Please remember I don't criticise men's rights, I'm actually in full support of them and I'm often active in this belief, in asking questions I'm trying to expand my knowledge so that I can convince others more effectively that men's rights is a serious issue that must be dealt with. Secondly, while you may go on controversial, the default is most 'hot', many people won't know that they should change it. Finally, I don't cri…

I'm not saying we're doing it wrong, I'm saying we could do it better. Hiding questions or answering them dismissively is damaging to the movement and doesn't help in any way (in my mind at least). If you can show me how the above does help the movement I'm more than happy to listen.

Downvotes are not only internet points. Downvotes decide what people see. The more downvotes a post gets the lower down it will be in the comments, so the fewer people will see it so the fewer answers and perspectives a person may get. Trying to 'hide' people's questions is. Edit: this movement has to appeal to everyone if it is to succeed. Believe it or not, that includes the delicate little flowers.
/r/MensRights20/05/17 09:10 AM

We're nowhere near as bad as feminist subreddits, but that's no reason not to improve ourselves. Our movement is relatively tiny and much of the public doesn't like it, as a result of this we have to be the best, most accepting and most open group.

I believe the situation has (sort of) been reversed with the brock turner case. He was given jail time but the judge gave him only 6 months and he got out in half that. He committed rape. Edit: It's kinda sad that every time I post any kind of criticism or ask any kind of question on this subreddit I get downvoted to hell. In my eyes the MRA community used to be far more accepting; if someone didn't understand something or saw a fault in an argument the reality would be explained to them. Now we…

Hey, me again! Having read the article I'm struggling to see many issues with it? The statistics presented do suggest that false rape accusations are not as big of an issue as many people on this subreddit may make them out to be. I can be quite dim witted when it comes to reading further into statistics (there are lies, there are damn lies, and then there are statistics) so any help with that would be appreciated! Also, I'd like to say that the people here are significantly more accepting than …

Can someone please show to me that there is in fact no rape culture? I agree with this subreddit on so many issues but I can't find the evidence to support it on this one. Genuine response please, I watched the red pill and there wasn't as much on this issue as I had hoped there would be. This isn't a fucking feminist subreddit so I would hope that here we don't respond to questions with rhetoric and stupid jokes. Thanks. Edit: I genuinely wanted to know more, I didn't agree there was a rape cul…

It's the idea that's being said that matters, not the person saying it. To my eyes what you're saying is uncomfortably similar to what he people at BLM or the... feminist movement... shivers

It's nothing to do with being female, it's just society perceives some people differently so (in this case) some women get a pass to cheat. It isn't the gender that makes them cheat, it's the reason they face less criticism for it.
