This is way too conspiratorial and shallow for me. I don't believe this movement is pushed by a shadowy cabal of elites who don't believe in it. The wokeness is everywhere and it's down to the individual if they take part in it or not. I find this outlook that our "problems" come from secretive people with "power" absolutely childish and bordering on Alex Jones tier. When did Jeff Bezos transition from regular dude to puppeteer?

But who are the bourgeoise and proletariat now? Even celebrities, even presidents, even Prince Harry, are taking part in these woke games

The problem is this directly contradicts Marxist class theory, which posits that the ruling class oppresses the working class by extracting surplus value from them. In particular, the ruling class is made up of both men and women, and the working class is made up of both men and women. Men as a class do not oppress women as a class. And logically speaking, patriarchy theory and Marxist class theory cannot both be true at the same time. Isn't this where neo-Marxism comes in? Marxism looks at the …

I saw that video. It's sad how pathetic the BBC is. One golden moment is when that guy chipped in something like "men do more risky stuff... Like be a comedian". That didn't get the recognition it deserved. Especially on the BBC where they have a huge push to promote women comedians. Every comedy panel show now it's obvious they try have minimum 50% female guests. A lot of them are truly awful, which is no surprise since theyre picking from such a small pool of people in the first place. It's ha…

We sometimes want to have a mental breakdown over insignificant things why would it be good to? i really disagree with this nonsense feminism has put out that girls are "more in touch" with their emotions or "can better express their emotions". It's wrong right off the face of it, and stuff like this just buys in into it. I completely disagree that this is some kind of ideal that men are barred from achieving. That men are victims because they don't express like women do. Women are higher in neu…

Just from stuff like my own family, working in an office with 80%+ women, living with female flat mates, girlfriends etc. I think you're really onto something. it even just comes down to lots of subtle things, stuff that you barely even think about. and even back then single mothers were higher back then back when? before the sexual revolution? Absolutely no way. education and birth control falls flat for lower classes. they don't use it. we "educate" people how bad smoking is, they all smoke anyway. But they do follow social rules where honour is involved. After sexual liberation men are in a rough competition to "pump and dump" as many women as possible. people aren't even getting married in the first place now. marriage is now a middle and upper class thing. lower classes don't get married. I saw it in my school. I live in a poor working class area. Amount of girls who were already pregnant before we finished secondary. Sexual liberation has absolutely ravaged the lower classes. If you care about lower class then you shouldn't be in favour of it. Middle and upper class can have casual sex and not get pregnant. Lower class, for whatever reason, don't. Teenage pregnancy , pregnancy out of wedlock is rampant. Raised by a single mother = huge change to do more poorly in practically any metric of wellbeing you can name. Restoring the family unit is key to lifting up lower class. Until then it will be an endless cycl…

Yeah I flicked on the debate for a few seconds and could tell it wasn't gonna be good. the feminist arguments have been fleshed out over decades now, all the way down from academia. "toxic masculinity" is internally consistent. Vast, vast, majority of MRAs will fail to refute this right off the bat. If you can't earnestly make the feminist argument you have no business refuting it. 90% of arguments I see MRAs making against toxic masculinity would not be convincing to a feminist. Not because it'…

If I knew the MRA guy was gonna refute toxic masculinity in an intelligent way i'd probably enjoy it. But by now i've learnt they just never do. It's always so disappointing. They "refute" it in a way which leaves the feminist thinking "this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, he's operating 5 levels below me"

The Manipulated Man I love the two books in OP. And I went into Manipulated Man expecting to love it too. But honestly I found it absolutely trash. I dropped it half way though. It's just one giant ramble. There's no flow, very little overall message. It's like she took some Adderall then spent the next 12 hours hammering out this book. This is a false analogy. Thermodynamic laws are physics, they are the building blocks of the physical universe. It is impossible to violate them. Hypergamy is a human behavior, so it is not as concrete. Until we evolve into an entirely different creature, it's here to stay. So if we want to have a discussion on human society in 50 million years from now, maybe it will be nice to imagine a world with no hypergamy. For now, it's here and we accept it. Humans have tonnes of deep, psychological infl…

Bringing up individuals is a waste of time. Depending on your stance its either going to be a telling example of fundamental problems with that side, or an isolated nutjob not worthy of focusing on, bought up only to be pretty. Bombarding people with hyper specific information that they can't possibly respond to isn't a good way to discuss You should focus more on fundmental ideas of feminism. the "men privileged women oppressed" is the heart of it all imo.

With regards to what was said earlier, shame and pressure can 100% be used negatively when they force individuals into conformity, lead to toxic expectations, and cause them to think something is wrong with them. I find this to be an absolutely simplistic view of things Again, we are social creatures. We WANT to conform to social trends, for the most part. That is what makes us feel comfortable. The thing is humans are biologically social creatures. So the line between what has a biological root and what is learned by society becomes blurry. Take language, for example. Obviously your specific language is learned by your immediate culture. Whether you speak English, French, Swahili etc. But what isn't culturally learned is language in general. That is, humans seem to be biologically determined to learn and use language with each other. Even a lot of animals have to "learn" their behavior…

there are many cultural universals. What makes a role masculine or feminine? I'd say if cultures have consistently assigned it to be that way, it's pretty immutable. Overall masculinity has consistently been associated with: skill, capability, consciousness. While femininity... this one is harder to pinpoint because in some sense it's so grand and over reaching it's harder to break it down. But femininity is something like, nature (mother earth). this is why i find the idea of gender abolishment a complete farce. or, people look at gender roles as a complete creation of society that we could do away with. i find these approaches intellectually lazy, and very often it comes with the air of moral superiority. that is, if you suggest gender roles aren't so flexible people accuse you of harming men

Every human has been rejected by someone from the opposite sex. To me, these are not general trends at all; they are people trying to rationalize why they were rejected (my boobs aren't big enough, I don't have a 6 pack) instead of just accepting that not everyone clicks with each other. again, these statements using words to say nothing of value at all obviously everyone is rejected. but if a group of people with some characterestic are rejected at a higher or lower rate than other groups, clea…

Talking about individual feminists is a waste of time because every movement has its good and bad actors. I'd rather come at this by looking at the fundamental beliefs of all feminists. In my view the feminist world view rests on this idea of the "oppressive patriarchy". That men are privileged and women are oppressed. Not just today, but through all of history. MRAs don't have this view of the world and so it's "anti-feminist" by default. You either subscribe to the male privileged / female opp…

women are attracted to indicators of high social status. actually i shouldn't say women, females are attracted to it, because its present across the animal kingdom wealth is a factor of social status in humans. hence men aquire wealth to attract women I dont see the use in getting upset about this, it just is how it is. but i do agree, the sexual revolution has reduced everything to a transaction with people just using others as a mean to max their short term pleasures.

nothing is universal. But we look at general trends. That's how analysis of society must work. "stop generalizing" is a useless, braindead thing to say. Racism isn't universal, but it's prevalent enough for it to be a general trend. Misandry isn't universal, but it's prevalent enough for it to be a general trend. I don't know what point you're trying to make with that comparison. I just wish people would see men as complex in their sexuality the way they see women most of the time. why? no really, why does this matter to you? it's easier for guys to want to have sex with someone than it is girls and this isnt changing any time soon. It's not that one is better than the other, we're just different. I really don't see what the problem is here. This feels like a toxic race to victimhood to me.

This is really petty to me. You could just reframe at is "girls are more picky" When it comes to wanting to fuck someone, guys are simple creatures. That's not an insult, it's just another way of saying we can decide in 0.2 seconds whether we'd want to bang a girl or not. If you're getting upset by this... well it's not even worth getting upset by, it's ridiculous to me.

traditional gender roles seems to perpetuates the idea that the purpose we have in life, our dedication to career, dreams, other long-term goals, is for the sake of marriages and making a family. your language seems to trivialize the meaning family can bring to us while hyping up career, "dreams" (?) and "other goals". everything is subjective to everyone, that's not really saying anything. I just completely disagree with your framing and I don't even think you've wrestled with the thought of the other side properly. You can’t claim to be a men’s advocate and then demonize men as creepy fuckers who want to seduce all women and are incapable of seeing women as anything other than sex objects. im not really concerned with studies here, it doesn't even make sense to me how a study could ever show this to be true or false. Women and men are just not the same. To be honest at no stage in the whole thing does the woman ever actually "do" anything. Things just "happen" to her and she is swept along by a current. Incels don't have a particularly high view of any women. They are a means to and end. That is, incels very strongly feel the humiliation and degradation associated with being alone, with not being able to get a woman. They want a girl to alleviate themselves of this burden. This is why prostitutes are meaningless for incels This is why they especially look down upon the "sex-positive" / cuckoldry people - those who embrace their humiliation and low status, or those who seem oblivious to it. Just as a guess I do think the random shootings are more likely to be white (or asian). In fact I can't even remember a random shooting involving a black guy, lol.

Men start out as bad guys and then have to prove themselves. Women on the other hand start out as the good guys, and have to really screw up somehow to be seen as less than perfect. I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Men are blank slates, women have some "essence" about them that makes them more divine. Men have worshipped this femininity throughout history, it just takes different forms as we progress. I read a really interesting book recently called The Great Mother, it analyses the…

I think the archtypcal ideals have been lost. Now the west associates masculinity with only all the worst aspects of it. Instead of imaging a fighter (say, Rocky), we imagine a bully Instead of imagine a leader (say, Aragorn) we imagine a tyrant. Menslib do this a lot. It's why their posts are filled with "society teaches men to be aggressive bullies". They're been so captured by this switcheroo of the masculine ideals that they've forgotten all the virtuous ones.

they’re unintelligent, their ideas are illogical, and most importantly, they’re uptight. By patriarchal standards, these women aren’t likable. I know this is just a small thing but this is really weird. why are these "patriarchal" standards? they just use this word as a boogeyman for everything. are we supposed to live in a world where illogical, unintellgient, uptight peoole are likable, and the evil patriarchy is holding us back from it?

the guy who banned you is one of the most common menslib posters so I wouldn't expect much from him anyway reddit in general is a shithole for discussing men's stuff. outside of a very few subreddits, the woke feminist agenda is the default framework for users on this site. and it sweeps across the entire site, not just boards specifically about gender. In general I'd just say find a couple of subreddits you like and ignore the rest. To be honest every time I've seen meetup pictures of people fr…

Women have always been shielded from violence. You can go back as far as you like, they were always kept away from warfare.

he was rich but it was useless to him. he was still socially excluded from everything he wanted to be a part of. women were unattainable to him.

But I wouldnt say any of that is innate. its all things which had to be created. im not saying men can't have value but the keyword here is innate. Women have innate value, i don't think men really do. Hence this pressure to make something of themselves which women don't really have.

We've dropped so many of these old ways of belonging that did assert the innate value of me what innate value is that?

Men by default are blank slates and don't really have anything valuable about them. Sperm is in such abundance it's absolutely worthless. Women have something valuable about them just by being a woman. So they get taken care of much more, they're "included" in society. In some sense they are society. Women and children are the core of society while men are just kind of darting around in every which way trying to fit in. Men only really get to be included if they have something valuable they brin…

education needs a complete and utterly overhaul. even the "good" students aren't getting much out if it. Girls mostly coast through but its torture for boys for various reasons. if you think about, it basically hasnt changed in 100+ years. sit on your ass all day, take in information which you don't actually care about, and regurgitate it as best you can

haha congratulations dude. I can't believe there's a whole IG page dedicated to "reacting" to other people's comments. There's a lot of subreddits like that to, I find them to be the most miserable, pathetic places on the internet.

There is not a single large enough civilization in the history of humanity that does not have horrific acts of bloodshed in it's history. I think the reasons western civilization get singled out... it's because from about 1700s onwards they really were the dominant force on the planet, and our current world is still branching from that. But your title is a bit weird, I don't think they target conservatives to repent. It's more like the whole western world must repent, white males in particular.

This is one of the few places on the internet that is left wing yet not infected by woke-brainrot. I agree with your first 4 points but your 5th point feels straight out of the woke "lets jerk ourselves off over how progressive we are" handbook. I like this sub because of the discussions and articles, I neither know nor care who is making the posts here.

I don't think any significant role reversal will ever take place. It's mostly just done by a small minority and in sporadic moments as a more of a gimmick than a long term thing you settle on. Basically if as a man if you're not a provider... it doesn't completely write you off but it makes your chances of finding a partner incredibly small.

id rather reddit just go in the opposite direction and allow almost anything. I dont really mind that these subs exist but its the hypocrisy that's amusing, they'd never allow a gender flipped equivalent subreddit to exist overall its why 4chan is a lot better than reddit these days, at least the boards that cover speicifc interests are way better than on here.

I consider myself a feminist as I genuinely care about social issues of human beings regardless of gender. surely that makes you a humanist

I think these are quite lazy critcisms. And they are probably thinking exactly the same things about MRAs. You should attack a steel-man of feminism. IMO, that should be going against this male-oppressor / female-oppressed worldview which is the backbone of feminism. That is the defining thing which makes a partnership between feminists and MRAs fundamentally impossible. That and this idea that "gender roles" (I hate this word) are nothing but social constructs.

I don't really see what you being a woman has to do with anything. I really don't like all this "female voice" "ally" language. I mean some people will make it a big deal but it's up to you whether you buy into it and make it a part of your framework. You either have something insightful to say that is worth listening to or you don't. At least for me, whenever I see the words "as a...." I kind of just switch off at this point, I'm tired of it.

It's just a tragic situation all around with no easy solutions. Birth rates are declining, in fact the only reason it isn't an emergency is because of immigration and higher birth rates among immigrants. Whereas look at a country like Japan that doesn't have the immigration, they're in a dire situation and they know it. What's the solution? Well first of all what's the cause? It's probably the fact that women now go to college and try to get a "career". So first of all they don't start thinking …

I believe the origin of stoicism as a male trait has to do with the more extreme living and working conditions men have disproportionately endured over the years. This is a kind of chicken and the egg situation. Does stoicism arise from men being the workhorses and warriors? Or are men better suited to be the workhorses and warriors because they are more stoic? Are men the warriors because they are strong? Or are the strong because they are the warriors? I believe tribal warfare was such an inna…

Women being strictly worse off than men is one of the central pillars of feminism. It holds up a lot of their worldview. By bringing up male issues, to them it's as obnoxious as a 'whitelivesmatter' hashtag.

Well there's a huge overlap between "LGBT" and feminism (at least online). And in general there's a strong dislike of feminism towards anything with the word "men's rights" attached to it. So there's your answer. At worst, they are outright hostile and distrusting of it, at best they treat MRAs as misguided simpletons. "Yes, men have issues too but they're still small compared to women's issues and also feminism is against all men's issues anyway so you might as well just be a feminist".
