It only certifies that they went through a training program by a specific institution that issues these certifications. Obviously there is no ultimate institution, but each of these institutions has their own certification. Just like everything in psychotherapy.

There are a few CSAT's (Certified Sex Addicton Therapist) that give good advice, however even there you can find advice that's not entirely in line with FDS. The first therapist that comes to my mind is Doug Weiss and one of his podcasts is super important to understand for anyone entering a relationship. Thanks! I was doing a lot of research on the topic as well, but I was mostly bothered how most online articles boil it down to evolutionary psychology. Anyone ovulating with strong hormonal influences could use the same excuse to behave in such a way. I recently listened to a brain researcher who mentions that it's more to social conditioning and men not being held accountable by society and culture to curb their ogling and objectifying. I also agree with your last sentence completely.
