To give her the benefit of the doubt, it is entirely possible that the social worker didn't tell her that he would be prosecuted. It seems the system is more corrupt in Michigan than most places so I wouldn't be surprised if they conveniently left that information out of the conversation.

From that story it sounds like the state owes him money as well because they garnished his wages and took tax returns as well as suspended his license and incarcerated him. A just system would not only pay him back with interest but award him money for lost wages and job opportunities. But we know that won't happen.

I believe it was a US census report that looked at the wages for all men and all women and showed that average yearly earnings for women is 78% of the average yearly earnings for men. That report doesn't take anything into account such as job, hours, or experience.

When people can make up false claims and get away with it without any consequences if they are discovered, why would they not try to do that? The problem is that many bills are designed to be sorted out by the courts after they are passed. Politicians don't want to be the ones who write laws whose language could be used against them during the next election cycle. So they write vague laws like this and can claim they are "tough on crime" or they "protect our children" and get support from whatever lobbying group they are trying to extort for money and votes. This particular senator doesn't care about the consequences of the law itself…

I think the problem is that there are people who are actively trying to connect PUA and other toxic "movements" to the MRM.
