Okay, I've read your comment a couple of times and it's so full of jargon and tildes I barely understand it. The point I was making is this: Lesson learned by Nemo's dad: his disabled son is not incapable without him, letting go is sometimes good. Lesson learned by Nemo: his dad was right about the world being dangerous, and his fear comes from love and protectiveness, even if it can be smothering. Nemo was a brat at the start and his dad was a dick. Both of these fictional characters went on a …

Nemo learned a valuable lesson too! Compare how he treats his dad at the beginning of the film and the end. Both Nemo and his dad learn compromise, acceptance and understanding - they learn how to empathise with each other and become a stronger team because of it. :)

The self is important and the world is important. Everyone's first priority is themselves, ultimately, but that doesn't mean that we should disregard the importance of others. It doesn't take a lot to pursue happiness while also keeping empathy and kindness in the front of our minds. If everyone had consideration for other people, everyone's happiness would improve. The problem lies in what makes people happy - nobody can agree on what is best for the self and the world.

Ultimately, there's no way to know whether it's a genuine poster, a troll trying to make TRP look bad, a troll just trying to rile up everyone, or some sort of double bluff. There are people out there who genuinely do think like that, and there are people out there who are manipulative enough to pretend to think like that in order to incite something. All people can and should do here is debate someone on what they've actually said. Assuming that all red pillers are in lockstep is silly, as is a…

In even your example of the american crow, slavery was recognized soon enough as wrong by half a nation. Wrong enough to fight against. In all of human history, might not some husbands have that kind of empathy with their wives, sisters, mothers and daughters? Slavery has existed for thousands of years (and sadly still exists), across many different countries and cultures. It wasn't really recognised as wrong "soon enough", it was an accepted part of life for a considerable chunk of human histor…

Do you consider the "popularity" of PIV to be largely due to the patriarchy rather than biology? As with most things, it's both inherent and influenced by culture - biologically, PIV sex is how the species continues, plus it can be highly enjoyable for both parties. We have the biological means to enjoy it. Different societies will exert different influences on their people to different degrees, including sexually. But no, I don't think the evil patriarchy is making women engage in PIV sex. Do y…

Okay, you seem to have taken my comment as a personal attack, which it wasn't meant to be. I've seen some really well thought out comments from you which is why it's frustrating to see that sort of stuff. If I see a "circlejerky" comment I report it and don't waste my energy commenting. Does that make sense, or am I being totally unreasonable? (And it's nice to see that you and others are doing exactly what I'm complaining about - "typical BPer, blind to the faults of other BPers and hypocrisy b…

I don't think this comment really contributes to debate, either.

I know you guys are used to defaulting to the unknowableness of anything when it doesn't suit what you want to believe Not a direct response to your post but the quote above is an example of something I notice a lot of in your comments - a sort of defensive hostility to people debating you and shoving words in their mouth before it's even open. I've never even engaged with you and it's already frustrating. Might be something worth keeping an eye on and trying to rein in a bit.

This is the problem: a crime has to be absolute, there can be no room for subjectivity. LOL, this is a nice idea in theory, but in reality the law is frequently subjective and open to interpretation. Rape is hardly the only or most common example of "feelz" or laws which are not applied in a logical, consistent manner.

As someone else stated in this thread, TRPers are trying to go after "the hottest young things", who as a generalisation tend to be more caught up in status and appearance. Everyone is, to a degree, as you've experienced; and people tend to like people who are like them. So if someone puts a lot of emphasis on their own appearance, they usually go for people who also do. If someone like you is drawn to people who are less judgemental you're not likely to get on with someone who is into the TRP w…

I've never heard any dudes talking about their gf's partner count. (Maybe I wouldn't since I'm a woman.) I've heard dudes call girls sluts, obviously, but this obsession with partner counts seems mainly to be associated with religious people or young people in my personal experience. I'm sure that if I asked any of the dudes I know whether they'd rather be with a girl who'd slept around they'd say no, but I have never met a man for whom his gf's previous partners been a massive issue, excepting …

I was going to say something like "a high pitched voice" or "not peeing standing up" but then I remembered that high pitched voices annoy me regardless of gender, and I don't tend to watch many people peeing so that isn't really an answer either. So no, I can't think of any.

How does that follow? I'm talking realistically here, not comparing imaginary people who are exactly the same but with more or less previous sexual partners. I'm saying that if a man is involved with a woman who is compatible with him and makes him happy and seems like a perfect match for him sexually/romantically at that point, and then he finds out she slept with, I dunno, 5 more people than he's happy with and he dumps her because it makes him feel bad, that's irrational. (Note that being irr…

In that case I can only conclude that guys are irrational in this respect.

I just don't care about it. My bf could have fucked 100 women or 1 woman before me, I don't really want to hear about it but I don't care what the number is. I imagine that I ultimately don't care because he's more intelligent, funny and loving than any other man my age I've met, and that's way more important to me. And I know that statistically promiscuous men are more likely to be a bad choice but my life would be a lot different if I made all my choices based on statistics.

Police in the UK are armed, just with ASPs and CS spray rather than guns.

Witnesses and victims don't make plea bargains. Police rely on witness testimony and community intelligence in order to police effectively, not just offender cooperation.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
