What does teaching consent have to do with a woman who lied to police about being raped? Most decent sized cities have community mental health programs. They charge on a sliding scale so if you're broke you only pay like ten bucks to see a psychiatrist and therapist. I thought child support was calculated as a percentage of income? If you lose your job can't you inform the courts so they adjust the child support to reflect a percentage of your unemployment insurance, as long as you are making a good faith effort to find a new job? Condoms aren't available by prescription, so it's not something that would generally by handled by insurance. Unless the legislation provides free female condoms to women, then this really isn't an issue to me. If you really need free access to condoms, then planned parenthood and/or your local health department will hook you up. Based on my personal expierence in jail, there didn't seem to be much of a stigma on people in there for domestic violence. Domestic abuse was a very common thing for people I met in jail. I was in for drug possession. Sex crimes or crimes involving children are what people get beat up over. The jail I spent 6 months in housed sex offenders seperately for their own safety.

I've never heard of anyone going to an actual prison for a ten day sentence. In the US any sentence under 12 months would be spent in a city/county jail.
