Can confirm. I got into an accident because I was texting and didn’t react quick enough when the driver in front of me hit their brakes, despite plenty of space between us. Fortunately it was a minor, low speed accident and nobody was hurt. I learned my lesson that day. I don’t touch my phone while driving. If it’s that Important, I’ll pull over and do what I need to do. Now I’m constantly pissed off at others who do it. It’s just not worth the risk to yourself and others.

And this gem. Men literally keep society running. Followed by carefully selected statistics about workplace deaths, etc. Like, “hey! They are choosing safe jobs! Women are bad for society!” WTF?

You do have a right to your opinion. If you choose to share it on a site designed to allow voting on your opinion, you can’t complain if you don’t like how people vote.

Ok, but that’s one time. The bulk of your comments should have a score > 0. If you occasionally get hammered with downvotes – which happens to all of us at times – it shouldn’t put you negative. To have an overall negative score indicates that the bulk of your comments are off putting, in which case it’s the community repeatedly telling you they don’t like what you’re contributing to the conversation. Just as in normal social situations, if you’re a drag on conversations, people will shun you. K…

If you have negative karma… I’m okay with you not being aloud to post in some subs until you can get positive karma. I mean you have to really try to get negative karma.

It’s a private forum, so of course it is. No logical person would argue it’s not “real”. When people talk about censorship, they generally imply government action.

It’s because you can’t really trust the police report created by the police. But the medical report will clearly state what you’re complaint was at that moment and what the medics did to treat you. You tell them exactly what was done to you and make sure they write it down. Edit: /r/UnethicalLifeProTips If this happens to you, start over reacting so that any recording devices, even outside the car, pick up your screaming and pleading for help. Give the performance of your life. Once in the ambul…

“Hot boxing” is a frequent practice among certain cops. They put you in back and crank the heat in the middle of summer. If this ever happens to you, demand a medic. Your lawyer will thank you.

It starts and it’s backdated to the birth. So it’s as if they were paying the whole time. Plus they have to pay interest.

But the child support is also assessed to a legal child. The court is basically ordering one child to pay another.

Olivas’ fear has turned to frustration. He wants to be in his daughter’s life and is willing to pay child support going forward. But he says it’s not right for the state to charge him for fees incurred when he was still a child himself or for the years he didn’t know the girl existed. “Anything I do as an adult, I should be responsible for,” he said. “But as a teenager? I don’t think so.” That’s really fucked up.

"The Kansas court determined that the rape was irrelevant and that the child support was not owed to the rapist but rather to the child," It’s this line of thinking that allows it to happen. I still don’t agree with it, but that’s the logic.

That’s a conclusion drawn from a study that does not draw the same conclusion. Women in the same position as men make 98% as much on average. Women tend to not get promoted to positions as high as men, creating an overall wage difference of about 30%. There are a number of possible reasons they don’t get promoted as high as men do. It could be gender bias, or it could be actual performance, or, yes, kids at home. If anyone has a study on the subject with more info, do share.

Proof: https://leg.mt.gov/bills/mca/title_0450/chapter_0050/part_0050/section_0030/0450-0050-0050-0030.html The word “rape” does not exist there. She was charged with the same crime a man would be charged with if the roles were reversed. People seem to not understand the difference between the colloquial term and its legal equivalent. Pussy pass was denied in that she did not get charged with a lesser crime than if a male had done the same.

It’s likely that they are reporting the crime using the legal terms that apply to this case. Nowhere does the word “rape” appear in Montana law on the subject. It’s simply referenced as “sexual intercourse without consent”. Ref. 05.05.45-5-503

I don’t know about Montana, but it should be noted that some states define rape using the word “penetration” which means women are only ever charged with some variant of assault. Edit: The word “rape” does not appear in Montana law, which would explain why a journalist might not use that term, but rather the the term that corresponds with the actual law that was broken.
