The ONS data is self-reported and says 1 in 6 men have been sexually assaulted and 87% of those were assaulted by a man
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:16 PM

I agree with all of that
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:15 PM

Demanding these things of women is misogynistic af
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:13 PM

I don’t know I think often men call women crazy as a direct result of behaviour they created in women by being manipulative, inconsistent, or outright lying.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:48 PM

If you have to pretend to be someone else to get laid then I can’t see how it’s worth it
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:46 PM

Women who rape should absolutely get attention also. They are just much less common.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:46 PM

Office for National Statistic says 1 in 6 men report sexual violence (still a huge number and I agree it should be taken seriously) compared to 1 in 3 women. 87% of perpetrators against male victims are male.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:52 PM

I’m not pretending that sexual assault never happens to men… but near half? That doesn’t match up to any evidence out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:42 PM

So? It should be clear that men who do not subscribe to patriarchal beliefs or toxic masculinity are not the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:23 PM

How come? The Wachowski sisters have very much said the red pill was meant to be about choosing to be yourself despite what society might think. Kinda of the opposite of the manosphere appropriation of the term.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 01:00 PM

Yeah
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 12:49 PM

OG red pill as in the meaning that the wachowski sisters meant
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 12:48 PM

What do you mean by “soft maxxing”? A guy can improve his appearance significantly with a good haircut, facial hair, skincare and makeup, dental care and good clothes. It’s absurd to suggest otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 11:04 AM

Not really, any number is terrifying because how are you supposed to tell which men are dangerous?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 07:45 AM

I said “still terrifying”
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 07:29 AM

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 06:58 AM

Nobody should speak in this dehumanising way about other people
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:50 AM

This quote is kind of the original meaning of the red pill that the Wachowski sisters meant - choosing to be yourself despite what society might think. Kind of the opposite to the manosphere meaning.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:46 AM

Maybe men shouldn’t shame women for being “easy” then?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:39 AM

Nobody is saying body shaming is sexual violence. It’s the bottom rung of the ladder whereby these attitudes are trivialised.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:35 AM

Yes probably
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:33 AM

Where does it say that?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:32 AM

You’ve fallen victim to the quote above exactly. Feminism criticises patriarchy, not men, yet men take it that criticism as a threat.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:31 AM

You absolutely do see feminists fighting for women to do male dominated roles and not be subjected to sexism or questioning their ability to do the role.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:28 AM
2

At no point am I claiming women are incapable of these behaviours, and they should also be taught it’s bad. However these behaviours are very ingrained and normalised in men, which is why men don’t even see anything wrong with it as this entire thread demonstrates.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 06:07 PM
1

Wedgies? Wtf?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 05:59 PM
2

Citation?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 05:22 PM
6

Hell no, none of this is “normal escalation”. If she’s resisting you should stop. The fact that men even believe in the concept of “the chase” is problematic af.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 04:05 PM
4

Sexual violence stems from sexist attitudes. You can’t address one without addressing the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 03:56 PM
11

Well no because I don’t agree that things like “kept touching or kissing her” which 58% of men admit to doing is okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 03:17 PM
2

Yes it certainly can be
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 03:16 PM
5

It doesn’t stretch the definition. All of the ones in the last group - getting a woman drunk, undressing her before she’s said yes, targeting vulnerable women - 1 in 5 men admit to doing this.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:23 PM
17

Rape is the tip of the iceberg of sexual violence. Rape culture is what permits rape to happen. You can’t address one without addressing the other. <image>
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:20 PM
2

Sorry you left it too late
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:12 PM
3

Men have left it too late if they’re waiting til their 40s to have children
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:58 AM
24

Even if we dismiss the ones you think are not really coercive (they are, but we’ll say for argument’s sake) the fact that some of the most coercive tactics are used by 10-25% of men is still terrifying.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:53 AM

Answer my question first.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:48 AM

They don’t want revenge, they want fair chances, in a society that has always favoured men unfairly.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:41 AM

Who says they are unqualified or underqualified? What if they have the same qualifications as a man? Who should get the role?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:40 AM

Why do you think DEI exists? It is an attempt to redress the existing inequality that was created by the white supremacist patriarchal society.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:30 AM

As opposed to the patriarchal capitalist system we’ve had for hundreds of years where men give jobs to their sons or other men who were wholly unqualified.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:27 AM

What makes you think they are unqualified for those roles? Women are doing better at school and university than men these days. Maybe men need to work harder to keep up.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:18 AM

I’d rather there be a small number of false allegations, than the current system where huge numbers of real rapists get away with it
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:04 AM

The gender pay gap still exists even if you control for those things, and it’s even higher for minority women.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:02 AM

Exactly
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:59 AM

Because men would never use whatever opportunities and advantages they could find to get into positions of power…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:53 AM

And what should women do if they were actually coerced and afraid? They’ll just be accused of false allegations. You want a system that protects predators.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:31 AM

White women are less disadvantaged than other groups but they still earn less on average than white men
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:30 AM

Maybe women are just working harder at school
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:17 AM

This is incredibly rare, whereas real cases of rape that fail to get prosecuted due to lack of evidence are extremely common. Also the guy is secretly filming her having sex with him and you’re acting like he’s the victim in that scenario?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:16 AM

Oh so men are wanting handouts now because they can’t compete in the free market they created?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:08 AM

We can talk about how capitalism is an unfair system, if you like. But all the evidence shows women, ethnic minorities, disabled people and lgbtq+ people all earn less on average under capitalism than cis white men.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:07 AM
3

Why wouldn’t they be if they’re the same age?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:02 AM

What handouts do you think women are getting exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:01 AM

I thought capitalists thought their system was fair? Work hard and you get rewarded. That’s what men have been saying for hundreds of years.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:59 AM

Cis men aren’t a marginalised minority
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:58 AM

Men created a capitalist society that relies on a competitive process, and then complain that women worked hard to break through the glass ceiling and started outcompeting them at their own game. Very much sounds like you think men not being given the privilege they think they are entitled to is “misandry”.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:20 AM
1

More men should have this vibe
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:03 AM

It’s a good thing that women have a right to choose, because they have contraception and financial autonomy. I also can’t imagine wanting to bring a child into a world which is literally on fire.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 08:44 AM

That’s a huge misrepresentation of what is actually happening
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 07:58 AM

They’re not harmless in the slightest.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 07:57 AM

A recent study suggested it was 95%
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:28 PM
1

Nah, making yourself harder to get is going to make you seem more desirable. That’s marketing 101.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:08 PM

I’m not saying you have to share your childhood trauma on date one, but so many men are so emotionally shut down that it’s hard to get to know anything about them. You have to know that right?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 05:52 PM

What a bizarre and distrusting view. Why are men so guarded with their emotions? Emotions are normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 05:47 PM
1

That’s good. A lot of men seem very angry.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 05:46 PM
7

Men should turn down women more, it’s pathetic that they’re a sure thing
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 04:46 PM
1

Men do this all the time, walking along with their wife and kids flagrantly checking out other women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:52 PM
0

Abiding the law isn’t a measure of being ethical or good.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:14 PM
2

It seems like a lot of men never cared about consent in the first place. They treat women as a game to play, try any means necessary to get the outcome of sex. At no point are they thinking about how she may feel about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:11 PM
-1

How can you be sure she’s changed her mind and doesn’t feel bullied into it?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:07 PM
0

If you don’t care that you might be harming others and only about legal consequences for yourself, that says a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:57 PM

I disagree, sex by deception is absolutely defined in law. At least it is in my country.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:50 PM
-1

Best to not have sex if you can’t be sure women are consenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:37 PM
2

I agree, no means no. Regardless of who is at fault, a no means you should back off.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:35 PM
9

It never ceases to amaze me how many men don’t understand this, or wilfully refuse to understand it. Surely if you’re scared of false allegations it makes sense to be absolutely clear that you gained informed consent and gave her every opportunity to withdraw consent. I guess the issue is a lot of men think they wouldn’t get sex at all if they didn’t trick women into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 12:32 PM
10

Most men act entitled to sex whether they are getting it or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:14 AM

If a woman says she’s looking for a relationship and a man says he is also when he’s actually married and looking for casual sex, that’s maliciously lying
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:25 AM

Oh get real. Someone taking care of their appearance isn’t duplicitous.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:19 AM

Depends on if the person would have withdraw consent had they been told the truth
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:05 AM

How’s it not relevant? If I as a trans woman fail to disclose I’m trans I could go to jail. But if a man fails to disclose he’s married then there’s nothing I can do about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:53 AM

Men lie about all sorts of things. Their name, being married, their intentions, what they’re looking for, they stealth with condoms, etc etc. And yeah you should ask consent for specific acts as you’re going along if it wasn’t previously discussed.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:52 AM

Well clearly the average man does think these standards should only apply when they are the victim
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:42 AM

If you’ve been honest and check she’s still consenting regularly I can’t see how you’re doing anything wrong. The problem is when men lie from the outset, and also when they think an initial yes means yes to everything even if it wasn’t something agreed upon
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:38 AM

Make sure her consent is informed, and create the circumstances whereby she knows she can withdraw her consent at any time.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:50 AM

I mean, it’s pretty easy to prove if a man has lied in the day of OLD, just save the conversation. I don’t know what it should be, but I’m disturbed there’s no repercussions at all, whereas as a trans woman if I fail to disclose my medical history I could go to jail.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:38 AM

A woman was jailed
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:30 AM

That there’s a double standard
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:30 AM

I’m glad you think so, unfortunately a lot of men act like sex is something they do to women (or take from women).
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:25 AM

Nice way to avoid you having a double standard. I personally don’t think jail is a reasonable punishment for such a thing, but I do think we need better sex education to teach people it’s not okay to lie to get sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:24 AM

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj6xlwn570lo Do you think this woman should have gone to jail for not disclosing she was trans?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:11 AM

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj6xlwn570lo This woman went to jail for not disclosing that she was trans. But clearly men want one rule for them and one rule for everyone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:08 AM

If you say so. I know plenty of women who would choose a short poor good man over a tall rich evil man.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:58 AM

I was replying to a comment about men
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:56 AM

What game? You don’t think people should be able to withdraw consent once they’ve consented? Even if the sex is getting scary?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:55 AM

If it was made crystal clear he wasn’t looking for a relationship and just wanted casual sex, then yeah I agree she can’t complain. But that’s usually not what’s happened.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:53 AM

Well people need to be open and honest about what they are offering before jumping in the sack so that consent is informed.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:51 AM

I never said anything about him going to jail.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:49 AM

Nothing miserable about it, it’s called having good boundaries and ethics.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:49 AM

You never mentioned anything about lying, yet he led her to believe he was interested in a relationship? 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:48 AM

Well two wrongs don’t make a right. If women are lying that also invalidates consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:47 AM

Are they? What do women lie about? Just because you say you are honest doesn’t mean men as a whole are. There’s lots of evidence huge numbers of men will say whatever they think women want to hear to get sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:44 AM

If he lied to get sex, and she consented based on the lie, then he invalidated her consent. The fact that men lie and manipulate to get sex all the time is what we call rape culture.

You can believe these socially constructed associations are made-up and still recognise that they have very real consequences because society upholds them in every walk of life depending on how people perceive you. Non-binary is generally an attempt to reject these gendered constructs entirely. For trans men and trans women… it’s about “I recognise these roles are made up but I still feel more comfortable over here with this group”. But also it’s not just about social roles, being trans for a lo…

Being emotionally available is also something you would benefit from, surely?

1

Again, a fantasy novel isn’t evidence they like it in real life
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:54 AM

Trans women are incapable of gestating life, which despite popular narratives, is still something most men aspire to. Ouch And most men are attracted to confident femininity, which especially for trans people who don't pass, doesn't exist in those people. This is definitely false. There are so many examples of trans women who are incredibly beautiful and hyperfeminine And most straight guys aren't interested in anyone who either currently or previously ever lived as a man or boy. This is definit…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:53 PM

I don’t believe you
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:28 PM

That’s just rubbish. Most women don’t want men tk be aggressive during sex. They want men to be tender and good with his hands.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:17 PM

I’m sure it’s easier to believe that than actually try and make yourself emotionally available
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:16 PM

Having kids is a terrible idea all round
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:13 PM

Bloody hell you’re obsessed. Regardless it was just a fantasy. It’s literally fanfic

What does that even mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:59 PM

That’s completely bonkers to me. If any woman genuinely thinks that then she’s vile.

Sex is definitely not an innate skill
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:11 PM

That’s a male fantasy. Most women want a man who is kind to her.

Doesn’t mean we should take it seriously.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:09 PM

Higher testosterone or being aggressive ain’t gonna make for good sex. Good sex is about good interpersonal connection and being responsive to your partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:09 PM

I’m supposed to judge what women like based on a trash twilight fanfic? Okay
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:04 PM

That’s horrible if true, but a lot of women would just prefer men not be aggressive, it’s not a good quality.

Horrendous

A lot of men, especially those within the manosphere

And? Men should want to not be angry all the time
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 04:21 PM

No I just believe relationships should be mutually beneficial and about genuine interpersonal connection, not using someone as free emotional labour
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 04:20 PM

Men think any behaviour from women that isn’t tending to men’s needs is self-centred. Women should be your mother, your therapist, your whore all at once, and god forbid they ask for anything in return.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 03:06 PM

The way heterosexual society polices gender absolutely gives away that it sees gender performativity as a sexual thing. It’s why they often accuse trans people of being fetishists rather than just being their true selves. They can’t imagine gender without having a sexual motivation. So of course they also see people who are failing to be attractive as genderless.

It’s not a human though is it
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:11 PM
3

I think that’s just a convenient get out clause for nobody having to question their beliefs
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:10 PM
1

Only if you care about physical strength, but it’s still dehumanising.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:09 PM

Ticks what boxes exactly? And that’s quite convenient isn’t it, you have an unfalsifiable belief
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:08 PM
2

How so? They’re both dehumanisation
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 02:44 PM

Indigenous American cultures have a long history of gender fluidity which white people tried to destroy.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 02:42 PM

Dude looks like a cartoon character. This is 100% a man’s idea of what a hot man looks like.

What is with the obsession with Henry Cavill?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 02:37 PM

Why are you all so obsessed with Henry Cavill?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 02:35 PM

Cultures are not disconnected, people have been intermingling and trading across the world for thousands of years. Moreover organised religion has impacted most cultures. There are some examples of much more isolated cultures which have very different beliefs about gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 02:26 PM
3

Yeah, you just need to find the one you get on best with, have most shared interests with etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 01:59 PM
1

It’s absolutely culture and not genes. Evopsych is nonsense
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 01:01 PM

The world is full of sexist double standards. Hopefully they are gradually disappearing, but bloody hell people seem desperate to hang onto them for some reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 01:00 PM

Yeah they are, men are always saying they hate tattoos on women and prefer women with minimal makeup
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 12:10 PM
1

Yeah of course, it’s cultural indoctrination from a young age. There’s nothing unmasculine about crying.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 11:20 AM
5

No such thing as “alphas” or “betas”. It’s all made up.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 11:16 AM

Men have a lot of feelings and they love to treat women as free counsellors
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 10:55 AM

Nah, my universal observation is that attractive people get treated badly because of jealousy, objectification, and the assumption they are stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 10:37 AM
3

So many of them seem to want to talk about their feelings afterwards. I’m like, get out of my house.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 09:42 AM

I do what I can, keep my hair short, wear scary makeup, have tattoos etc anything to avoid the male gaze
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 09:05 AM

Who says it gets you what you want? In my experience it leads to a lot of sexual harassment and people thinking you are stupid
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 07:10 AM

I think a lot of attractive people say they would give up the positive attention if it meant they could get rid of the negative attention
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 07:09 AM

This is a false assumption. Hot people often have it harder. They are objectified for their hotness in every walk of life, and their brains and skills overlooked, as the OP clearly demonstrates.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 06:56 AM
2

Haha we do need to take it back.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 06:42 PM

Hahaha sure why not, I’m not sure the red pillers will get it though
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 06:39 PM

Staring in a sexually provocative way is illegal in many countries
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 09:21 AM
1

There’s a difference between looking and leering. Leering is sexual harassment.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 09:20 AM

Of course, beauty standards for gay men are off the charts.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 09:10 AM
1

Meanwhile, loads of gay men are fed up with hookup culture and want to find a boyfriend
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:58 AM
3

Ah yeah, that’s fair enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:46 AM
9

Self control exists, but it’s also completely morally neutral and harmless to have had sex with lots of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:39 AM
4

Absolutely, the gender binary is the root of so much harm, I welcome its destruction.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:38 AM

What a heterosexual pov that attraction relies on polarity.

In that case vaginismus is the man’s problem to solve, seems about the same logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:35 AM

I’ll never understand why some men insist on trying to stay silent during sex, it’s so weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:32 AM

That’s a misrepresentation of the data. Bisexual and lesbian women are more likely to have been victims of DV, but the perpetrators are still most likely to be men from relationships prior to coming out.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 02:01 PM

What sort of stats would you like? The DV rates not good enough? What about the fact that 90% of injuries from intentionally punching a wall are men.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 11:03 AM
1

Managing your own emotions doesn’t mean suppressing them until a time when you explode, which is what most men do.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 09:55 AM
1

That’s not emotional intelligence. No I believe all of them are choices, and thus have consequences.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 07:14 AM
1

Because men say they love it on the rare occasions when women sexually objectify them, and women walk home with their keys between their fingers
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:51 PM
1

Doubt
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:25 PM
1

I don’t, I just don’t think it’s as common or as scary
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:23 PM
0

The casual sexual harassment is what permits the more serious stuff. It’s so normalised that men think they can get away with worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:10 PM
4

Yeah obviously there’s nuance, I was just matching the OP’s energy
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:47 PM
1

The numbers prove a small number of men get convicted of violent crime. What the numbers don’t show is all the lesser sexual harassment that is a daily occurance, and the culture which socialised these men to see women as sex objects. You’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Sure there are some decent men out there who are genuinely feminist, I’m not denying that at all. But I’m always incredibly dubious of men who try to deny that everyday sexism exists, that sexual violence is just psycho me…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:01 PM
0

I didn’t say whole gender, did I? I’m just refuting your suggesting that it’s a small number of men. You’re just trying to minimise the problem, and I have to question your motivations for doing so.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:32 PM
0

The numbers don’t add up. How can it be a small minority when there’s such a huge number of incidents? How can you get situations like fifty men from the same small town all raping Gisele Pelicot?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:08 PM
2

Glad you agree
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 12:19 PM

The fake plastic surgery look is iconic though. Look at Amanda Lepore, what an icon.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 12:05 PM

Men choose to enter dangerous or physically labour intensive jobs. Men choose to be miserable and lonely. Men choose to dampen their emotions so they can’t feel their grief and can only express anger and aggression. Men choose to be violent towards women. Men choose to rape women. Men choose to end up ostracised by society or in prison. I see a lot of men claiming they are conditioned by society or it’s their biology. Either you can make a decision independently or you can’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:59 AM
2

Love it when men just assume they are more “logical” than women, when in reality men are highly emotional.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:40 AM
2

Whatever, it’s still not a real difference. People could choose to go against the social conditioning at any time.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:11 AM
3

All you’d find is evidence of gendered trends, which are socially conditioned, but certainly not universal or a discrete binary.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:07 AM
11

Why’s it her responsibility to ask? The trash needs taking out, a responsible person would notice it and just do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:04 AM
3

Disagree, it’s well proven that men are not as emotionally resilient as woman, because they’re taught to dampen their emotions from a young age.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:00 AM
1

The police very often adopt a victim blaming attitude, which is why a lot of sexual violence goes unreported.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:58 AM
0

Whilst people should protect themselves, if you lean too hard into putting the responsibility onto the victim, then it’s just giving a free pass to perpetrators to do as they want.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:53 AM
4

Mathematically? Show me your workings
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:51 AM
3

That’s just gender stereotypes
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:49 AM
10

Pointless gendering of personality traits. People can have these traits or not, it’s got nothing to do with gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 09:49 AM
-1

It’s not a small minority though. It’s enough that 97% of women have been sexually harassed in public.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 09:45 AM
2

Women get told these things too. Learn self defence. Carry mace. Don’t walk home alone at night. The victim is always blamed because society has a vested interest in male violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 09:43 AM
9

Men are definitely more neurotic than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:33 PM
1

Men give up when things become hard, demanding or dangerous all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 03:33 PM
1

What do you think causes that difference if not gender stereotypes in society?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 02:45 PM

Like, I get that cheating is a betrayal. But if you love your kids why would their genetic makeup be “devastating”? You’d still be their dad
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 02:39 PM
1

Mostly a fear of emasculation, not feeling masculine enough, usually in comparison with other men, which leads to a lot of overcompensation, posturing, hiding emotions, or downright pretending to be something they are not.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 02:31 PM
0

You’re assuming. Quite frankly if they’re on the motorway it’s not safe for either of them to change the tyre and they should call the emergency services. But the idea that women can’t work for the police or for auto assistance is sexist af.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:58 PM
3

Men’s biggest problem in everything is their shame. They carry shame about absolutely everything.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:48 PM

Why would that be an issue?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:25 PM
2

Oh for sure, I can’t tell you the amount of submissive men I’ve talked to in kink spaces who then aren’t into pain. I’m confused as to how you can be vanilla and submissive though.. what would that look like?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:12 PM
1

I dunno a lot of couples think they are being subversive simply by doing kink, but it’s just playing out normative gender roles and giving men an excuse to beat up women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:58 PM
0

What’s wrong with that? Less conventionally attractive people seem to have way more sex than beautiful people.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:52 PM
1

What a load of stereotypical rubbish, I know plenty of hard as nails women who would be more than happy to change a tyre. And plenty of men who would just call the AA. Don’t forget that women are increasingly choosing to be alone. Who’s going to sort it out if they don’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:45 PM
1

Tbh I’m dubious of dominant men and submissive women just playing out normative gender roles. Nothing about that feels subversive.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:31 PM
2

They can and they do
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:30 PM
2

I don’t think any submissive worth their salt should be lazy and passive.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:09 PM
7

This is a fair point tbh, although the lack of anonymity doesn’t seem to stop men from sexually harassing on the apps.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 11:30 AM
5

Yeah definitely. Fed up of men approaching me just because of my looks and not caring about my personality or interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 11:20 AM
2

What on earth are you babbling on about?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 10:17 AM
3

If you think someone who is a right wing shill for the manosphere gives a shit about ethics or your safety you’re delusional. That’s just someone who likes violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:44 AM

They just want a mother
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:24 AM
3

You’d rather trust your safety with a right wing MRA shill? Okay lol
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:20 AM
3

If they’re doing it ethically yes. An ethical kink dynamic means meeting each other as equals first before entering into a consensual power exchange, and knowing you can end the scene at any time and go back to being equals.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:11 AM
5

You can’t respect women as people and be anti-feminist, those things are contradictory.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:10 AM
3

It’s not ethical kink or even ethical sex if you don’t respect each other’s humanity. That’s just using someone for their body or what they can do for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:09 AM
4

It sounds like you need some therapy, not a kink dynamic. And I’m sorry but one example of a sex worker who’s a shill for the manosphere doesn’t a trend make. I used to go to femdom events that had a round table discussion before the play party and feminism was a huge part of everything they did. Basically, you can’t expect women to do this very intensive thing for you if you don’t respect her as a person. Well, unless you pay a sex worker I guess, but even then they might have boundaries on bas…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 08:47 AM

Also, you can’t blame men for desiring a woman still willing to do the trad-wife duties despite having to work. Yeah we can? If you’re both going out to work then you should also both contribute to running the household. Expecting her to do it all on top of a full time job is lazy af.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:54 AM
7

Yes of course, boundaries are important. Any kink dynamic requires an in-depth discussion about limits, safewords, safety etc in order to make it ethical and safe. I have to say, you’re not going to get very far as a submissive man if you don’t respect feminist women. I’ve never met a femdom who wasn’t a massive feminist. I’d say the motivation for being a femdom is very often about reclaiming power from men.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:48 AM
0

It wouldn’t be perceived that way by an experienced dom.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:22 AM
5

Being sexually submissive definitely isn’t “weakness”. For someone to be able to take a good hiding they have to be very mentally strong.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:18 AM
2

It’s really dangerous
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:09 AM
10

Men are naturally the submissive sex. I can’t tell you how many times men have given it the big talk about being naturally dominant and within five minutes they’ve been saying “yes mommy”. There are women out there who want to be sexually dominant. The mistake that submissive men often make is that they still sexually objectify dominant women, they still make it all about their own fantasies, and don’t consider that to be submissive is to give yourself up to someone else’s whims.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 06:57 AM
1

Well the op was about cucking
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 06:03 AM
3

It’s problematic if men can’t just be friends with women without trying to make it sexual. It speaks volumes to how men view women as sex objects.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:42 AM

It’s got nothing to do with testosterone, and everything to do with the fact that young boys start dampening their emotional expression out of fear of being “like a girl” from around the age of 7 (boys and girls prior to this are basically the same)
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:38 AM

Holy gender roles batman. Why is it so hard for two people to connect over shared interests? Playing these games is what’s ruining it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:35 AM
1

Being cheated is different to cucking
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:29 AM

All the women I know absolutely hate that men are stoic and emotionally unavailable. You do this to yourselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:28 AM
1

Well, I guess the obvious liars get caught out quickly, it’s the skilled liars that manage to get you invested
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:25 PM
1

Can’t ask people who’ve ghosted you and subsequently turned out to have been lying the whole time
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:24 PM
1

What’s the motivation for lying and then ghosting before the date?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:10 PM
1

I think a lot of men are incredibly skilled liars. Chameleoning is very common on OLD apps
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:09 PM
1

Are they even getting dates? I’ve watched my girlfriend talk to guys who disappear just before the actual date and it turns out it’s because they were lying about all sorts of things. What’s the motivation there?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:08 PM
1

This inform’s men’s behaviour in so many contexts it’s impossible to pick just one. Obviously it’s huge in dating to the point where it seems like men are treating dating as a competition with other men, not a connection with women. But also many other situations, men denying themselves anything fun because it might be seen as feminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:05 PM
1

I think men would be a lot freer and happier if they gave up their fear of emasculation. Who is it serving?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:47 PM
1

Again why do men not have any accountability for telling lies?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:28 PM
1

Either way it seems to be men’s main fear in pretty much every situation in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:25 PM
-5

The expectation is always placed upon women to solve all of men’s problems. Men truly are the submissive sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:22 PM
1

Accountability for what?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:20 PM
0

We can’t detect them, hence we are incredibly distrustful from many bad experiences. The way to overcome that is to prove you are trustworthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:07 PM
1

They seem to think masculinity is just the absence of femininity though. That what’s deemed feminine is ever expanding. I literally saw a guy the other day saying he wouldn’t let his friend get him a birthday cake as that was gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:05 PM
1

Why’s the onus on women to become expert lie detectors and there’s no onus on men to not be liars?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:01 PM
3

I find it endlessly fascinating how much men fear humiliation, particularly emasculation. If your whole sense of identity can be taken away by someone else then it wasn’t very strong to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:57 PM
2

That’s weird I’ve come across a lot of men who positively get horny over the idea of being cuckolded. This is not rare in the slightest. There’s a reason the hotel corner chair is called the cuck chair.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:50 PM
1

Different women.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:26 PM
1

How do you spot liars? Some men seem incredibly expert at it. Almost all of them do it to some extent. It’s so normalised. And women are always blamed somehow.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:08 PM
-2

Genuinely baffled as to why you think being sexually desired is better than someone wanting to build a life with you. Sexual desire is cheap. Men just give it away all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:53 PM
0

Bisexuality is common amongst men but only 11% of bi men are out, the rest are all hiding in straight relationships and having sex with men on the sly
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:45 PM
4

Someone can say all the right things and still be lying their ass off
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:43 PM
2

How are women supposed to “choose better” when men actively lie and chameleon their whole personalities to what they think women want?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:39 PM
0

Dunno I think often it is a choice, because in reality most people are some flavour of bi but scared of social repercussions.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:34 PM
0

Why would that be a bad thing? You can absolutely develop attraction for someone as you get to know them
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 05:04 PM
0

Genuinely can’t understand why anyone would do it
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 05:03 PM
2

It just seems really dangerous compared to all of those other things.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 05:02 PM
0

You’re inflicting this entirely on yourselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 04:45 PM

Not personally but I’ve certainly read such papers
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:35 PM

Okay but if a guy says he goes to the gym it’s pretty much a turn off for me because I can’t think of anything more dull.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:20 PM
2

So she went through many hours of expensive and painful hair removal to cut down her time getting ready for a date. Great, most women don’t have that option. Tbh men should just get used to hairy women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:04 PM

I’ve met many with that diagnosis and I don’t believe it’s real. Most of these people are just autistic with childhood trauma. It’s also just a really sexist diagnosis, it’s basically the new “hysteria”, a made up label psychiatry gives to problem women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:02 PM

BPD isn’t real
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:55 PM
2

Well men shouldn’t object to hairy legs then.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:50 PM

How so? Being queer is literally a rejection of heterosexual norms. That’s freedom, which is why straight society wants to persecute it because they can’t imagine a freedom of their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:49 PM

I don’t need to know anything else about it to know that it’s primarily attractive to men and not women?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:46 PM

Creepy
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:56 PM

Nope it’s worse when they want to show off their gains
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:30 PM

It is legal for both genders in many places
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:29 PM

I just learnt it’s illegal for men to be shirtless in the street in Venice and I wish we had this law in my country.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:16 AM

Such as? Perhaps you just can’t accept the way men treat women in public places and on dating apps. You’re expecting me to still give men the benefit of the doubt that they’re “good” despite the constant non-consensual sexualising of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:49 AM

How so? You claimed feminist women had never interacted with a man. I’ve interested with many hundreds, and that’s why I hold the views I do.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:43 AM

Well, I am happily partnered, just not with a cis man. Not sure being happily partnered with a cis man is possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:41 AM
12

Straight conservative society. I don’t see the queer leftists demanding this of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:39 AM

A lot of us have come to the opinion that huge numbers of men are rapists precisely *because* we have interacted with cis men and this is how they have behaved towards us
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:36 AM

Still doesn’t mean it’s white knighting. That implies it’s disingenuous
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:30 AM

You think feminist men are always “white knights”? That’s pretty cynical

I think men trying to be dominant or leaders is always a joke.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:01 AM
2

Whole books have been written on the male gaze.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:58 AM
1

Why the hell would I want to learn about weight lifting? This is the whole point: men think it’s important to do weight lifting to attract women, but most women think it’s boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:56 AM
1

How is it?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:26 AM
1

I disagree. I’ve seen lots of women complain that straight men are “unwashed”. How you present yourself matters.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:25 AM
1

Why’s it far more consequential? If men exclude you you won’t have any male friends, you might not be able to get a job, you could be regularly beaten up… queer men experience this a lot
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:24 AM
1

I’m not American or “liberal”. And it’s a perfectly useful word, what else would you have me say?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:22 AM
1

Who am I performing for?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:20 AM
3

If you’d actually make your point rather than skirting around it. Just trolling clearly.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:09 PM
1

I don’t get it
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:04 PM
0

I just don’t want it full stop currently. If I wanted it again I’d consider paying for a professional.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:56 PM

When I was actively looking for cock. I decided to give up instead.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:50 PM
5

I’ve definitely considered it, because most free cock is annoying to obtain and not very good when it arrives.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:48 PM
3

The not having to spend hours getting ready for a date
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:46 PM

Sure you do 👍
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:23 PM

Leave us alone and we’ll leave you alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:21 PM

If it ain’t got nothing to do with you your disagreement is irrelevant
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:17 PM

It’s not really yours to disagree with
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:15 PM

Because being straight is deeply uncool
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:12 PM
1

It’s men who exclude gender non-conformity in other men, often with violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:01 PM
1

You’re still alone if you’re pretending to be someone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:56 PM
1

You can all repeat this ad nauseam but I only see men objecting to the idea that men should be less masculine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:55 PM
0

I’ve no idea and I don’t care.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:04 PM
1

What if it does hurt your feelings?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:03 PM
1

Better to be yourself than try to appeal to people who don’t like you.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:02 PM
1

Appeal to the female gaze, learn what women like.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:00 PM
1

Dunno, are they? Lots of women I know say they like some meat to hang on to. Muscles are hard, they’re not nice to cuddle.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:34 PM
1

Because it’s all in aid of upholding the hegemonic male ideal.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:33 PM
1

No
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:19 PM
1

America does seem especially extreme in its reinforcement of gender norms.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:19 PM
0

Well it certainly won’t happen if no men try to change it. And blaming women is silly. Ultimately you are the master of your own destiny.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:38 PM
1

Yeah exactly. Look how harmful masculinity is that men can’t even express sadness or anxiety. These are normal human emotions. This is why I say masculinity is prison and men should be seeking to dismantle it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:19 PM
1

Gendering things like pencils and notebooks is absurd.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:03 PM
2

Yeah I live in the UK, football culture is rife here. And yeah, footballers are airheaded Chads, which is a massive turn off.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:02 PM
1

Because a lot of men express negative feelings as anger.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:01 PM
0

I really don’t think it’s women selecting for this. Men police it in themselves. I see women all the time trying to persuade men to open up and be more emotional, to be more expressive, to not care so much about being masculine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:49 PM
1

They’re not just aesthetic changes, it’s called having a personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:31 PM
1

The fact that straight men don’t think clothes matter is part of the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:28 PM
1

I can’t think of anything worse than dating a footballer.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:21 PM
1

I don’t think it is all for fun. It’s presented as harmless fun when in reality it’s about enforcing conformity to the norm. You particularly see this when groups of guys will pick on another man for something he’s wearing on the street. It’s a performance for the other guys in the group to not deviate from the rules.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:21 PM
1

Really? I see lots of women mocking how men’s products are absurdly gendered because men couldn’t possibly buy anything perceived even slightly feminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:17 PM
0

As in won’t do anything deemed different or unmasculine for fear of being ridiculed. I’m a trans woman, I speak to straight men all the time who’d love to date a trans woman but would never dare tell their friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:04 PM
1

Clothes, haircuts, interests, hobbies, emotions… you name it the spectrum of acceptable behaviour for men is incredibly narrow
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:02 PM
1

So all men end up being exactly the same and acceptable masculinity gets narrower and narrower. The men’s clothing section is a barren wasteland.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:32 PM
1

I really don’t perceive there to be competition amongst women in anywhere near the same way there is competition amongst men. Women are always championing and celebrating other women.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:27 PM
1

It’s pretty absurd how narrow masculinity has become
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:25 PM
1

Go away please
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:16 PM
5

Having a preference for low body counts is basically admitting you have performance anxiety.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:15 PM
1

Yeah well it’s usually dressed up as “it’s just banter, you can’t take a joke”
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:03 PM
1

What’s extreme about it? Men compliment each other on muscles and “progress”, that’s commonplace.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:03 PM
1

Nope, it would make them better because you’d stand out to a few instead of blending in to the many.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:50 PM
2

I was dating a man 15 years older than me who had a grey moustache and a big belly for years. I used to love rubbing his hairy fat belly. But don’t believe me if you want lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:49 PM
1

Screaming “gay” out of car windows. Laughing at me in the street. And also I got physically beaten up a few times.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:40 PM
1

Yes
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:37 PM
3

I haven’t even seen the movie but yeah Loki is way more attractive than Thor. Thor is 100% the male gaze ideal.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:32 PM
0

I think as a minority reclaiming the nasty things people have said to you as a joke can be helpful for sure. My house is all trans people and we do this too. This is very different to the average straight male banter imho where men don’t dare step out of line.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:23 PM
1

Yeah exactly. So apply that to dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:11 PM
1

I know plenty of women who are into twinky guys. Lean in to what makes you different.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:09 PM
0

It’s not a numbers game. Women don’t want to be seen as interchangeable any more than men do.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:09 PM
1

Well that’s a red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:08 PM
1

If you say so. Just my observation.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:02 PM
1

Because all men try to be the same. It’s really easy to stand out as different as a man. I don’t know why more men don’t try it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:02 PM
0

Why do men see dating as a numbers game? You’re not trying to find lots of women, you’re trying to find the right woman for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:53 AM
1

Says who? I know lots of women who are into freaks and weirdos.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:52 AM
0

It is good advice for seeking employment. You need to market yourself as being perfect for the specific role. You need to stand out from the crowd.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:52 AM
1

There are lots of different types of women with different tastes in men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:51 AM
1

Nope, because that’s what every man is trying to do
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:44 AM
1

I think often when men have zero options it’s because they’re blending in. They need to make themselves appear special, not average.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:44 AM
2

Know what?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:29 AM
1

I’m trans, I’ve been on the receiving end of men bullying about failing at masculinity for many years before I transitioned.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:29 AM

Well fine, be hypermasculine for the male gaze if you want, just don’t be dishonest about your motives.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:25 AM
-3

It was the assertion of what women think that I did not believe
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:24 AM
1

Then men need to market themselves better
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:23 AM
1

I don’t think so, I know lots of women who find men trying to be dominant and “alpha” repulsive
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:22 AM
0

Why would you willingly sign up to be “friends” with people who mock you for any perceived difference of weakness?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:22 AM
-2

No because it’s ridiculous
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:12 AM
1

Lol if you say so. We didn’t struggle for a lack of interest, just a lack of men willing to be submissive.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:12 AM
-1

So be a niche within a niche. Be the exact freak someone is looking for.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:11 AM
3

I just don’t agree that the things men believe are attractive in men are actually what women are looking for. You’re all trying to appeal to the male gaze by being hypermasculine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:10 AM
1

That’s so weird to me. I wouldn’t want to date someone who I didn’t have shared interests with.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:03 AM
1

Perhaps, I guess that’s why it’s enforced so heavily, patriarchal power.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:02 AM
1

Only men believe this. Most women say they express themselves with makeup and fashion because they enjoy it, not to please men or compete with other women. If it’s competitive, why do other women compliment each other on their clothes and makeup all the time? I regularly have women stop me on the street to say they love my outfit.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:01 AM
2

Who says I don’t? Literally the last five men I’ve dated have all had moustaches and dressed a bit fruity lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:55 AM
-2

Niche has a high success rate with people into that niche.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:54 AM
1

It’s sad if you believe that. Me and my partner are obsessed with each other because we completely match each other’s freak.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:33 AM
1

Says who? I’ve often struggled because I’m primarily attracted to men who are a bit camp/fruity and problem is they are mostly gay. Straight men try to hide these aspects of themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:32 AM
1

Most kink scenes have a vanilla munch event which you can attend to get to know people.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:30 AM
1

Turn up is the number one advice. We really struggled to find submissive men on the scene. Lots of online fantasists but they never show up irl. The ones we ended up engaging with were the ones who showed up.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:26 AM
4

Ugh why everything gotta be “maxxing”?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:25 AM
3

Because you’re choosing to blend in rather than stand out.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:21 AM
1

You think women find cookie cutter men attractive whilst valuing interest and creativity in women? Doesn’t make any sense. I see lots of women complaining that men are really boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:20 AM
2

If you say so. Me and my partner were always looking for submissive men and they just didn’t show up. So who’s confirmation bias, exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:18 AM
3

But the person you meet won’t like you for who you are?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:16 AM
-3

Where does this idea come from that there aren’t enough niche women to go around? Women are wayyyy more permitted to have niche interests and expression. There’s not even just one way for a girl to be alternative, there’s lots of different ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:14 AM
0

Do they? I personally find it a massive turn off. Men are naturally the submissive gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:12 AM
3

How so? I frequent the kink scene which overlaps heavily with the alt/punk scenes and loads of dorky strange men have lots of success with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:11 AM
5

What’s dishonest about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:10 AM
1

I completely disagree. Surely the whole point is finding someone who loves you wholeheartedly for who you really are?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:09 AM
9

It’s a catch22 then. I’ve often wanted to tell a man on the street he dresses well or I like his moustache but I’m worried he’ll think I’m trying to sleep with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:03 AM
-2

> There aren't enough "niche" women to go around - women who like shy, passive, unmasculine etc. men. Do you think men would be so keen on bending to these archetypes if women didn't en masse prefer that? The “en masse” is the problem. If you try to appeal to the mass market you’re only ever going to be perceived as average. It’s better to try and market yourselves as special to a smaller group of people who are into your particular niche.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:02 AM
5

Lol, you’re probably right.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:54 AM
5

All the men I’ve seen on various subculture scenes have women throwing themselves at them. Having a niche absolutely pays.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:39 AM
3

No but she absolutely exists, and when you find her she’s going to be enthusiastic.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:38 AM
4

It’s still my firm believe that men who try to get muscles do so to try and compete with other men. Even the measure of “sex with women” is an attempt to compete with other men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:37 AM
5

Women would compliment men more if men didn’t take it as a sexual come on.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:36 AM
2

Well, that’s interesting because in my mind confidence and charisma tends to go along with individuality, not conformity. A lot of men are scared of being charismatic and interesting because they’re worried about coming across as a little fruity.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:35 AM
3

My argument is that limiting your dating options is good actually. You’re better to be one person’s champagne rather than everybody’s cup of tea.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:32 AM
1

Well some women are into muscles but certainly not all. I prefer chubby guys, always have.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:30 AM
3

Yes absolutely. I already select for overweight older men with moustaches who dress in smart clothes and are into classical literature. But very few men appeal to this niche because they’re all terrified other men will call them gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:29 AM
-4

I only ever hear men saying this, and quite frankly I don’t believe it to be true. Every body builder influencer can tell you the majority of compliments they get are from other men. If men want success with women they’d be much better to diversify.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:21 AM
1

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:44 AM

No because kind men are also in short supply
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 03:28 PM

Who are you, the morality police?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:29 PM
1

Like threesomes or going to sex clubs
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:27 PM

In that they exist, so seek them out.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:27 PM

It’s misogynistic to see women as property rather than autonomous human beings with the right to withdraw consent at any time.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:26 PM
1

If your connection is strong, then no it wouldn’t. When I’ve had open situations it’s brought me closer to my partner because it was a shared experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:25 PM

Who else are you going to be?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:22 PM

You want to punish women for their dating choices?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:43 AM

Unknown men are potentially dangerous and violent. Men think this too.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:42 AM

Since when is the world fair? People are mostly selfish arseholes. Seek out the ones who aren’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:36 AM

So those women aren’t for you. Find the ones that are.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:29 AM

And to think I respected your opinion
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:27 AM

It’s an offensive stereotype in much the same way.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:27 AM

And men like subservient bimbos who don’t answer back. Not “all” men of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:25 AM

Seems counter productive but okay
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:17 AM

Yikes. Are you a reform voter?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:10 AM

Which women? There’s plenty of us who despise violent misogynists and toxic masculinity and are happily dating soft, kind, emotionally available men.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:06 AM

68% of rapes committed by white men in the UK https://www.cps.gov.uk/foi/2025/number-individuals-prosecuted-and-convicted-rape-offences-england-wales-2024-2025-broken
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:56 AM
1

Poor strategy, scaling back your standards doesn’t work, the less attractive guys will also use her for sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:52 AM

All the stats show most rapes and murders of women in European countries are done by white men.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:50 AM
2

It’s still a racial stereotype. Muslims aren’t trying to take over Europe.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:43 AM
5

Bloody hell this thread is a racist bin fire
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:06 AM
1

That assumes that relationships have no meaning outside of sex
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:00 AM
1

How is any different to the way you’ve been indoctrinated by anti-feminists?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:57 AM
0

And of course all the comments are from men
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:52 AM
1

My friend was followed home the other day by a man saying “pretty legs gonna get you”. That’s what we’re scared of. We’re just asking for some basic empathy for what we have to deal with.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 07:30 AM
1

Ghosting is definitely not better than having an honest conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:51 PM

People should have to have a license to have kids
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:31 PM

Horrifying
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:02 PM

Find someone to vouch for you. It’s called “making an introduction”.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:54 PM

Yeah, I already do stay away from people until they’ve proven themselves safe. It’s really not that much to ask. Trust is earned.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:45 PM

Yeah that would be totally rational, especially if you had previously been stabbed.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:30 PM

If you can’t be bothered do the work to persuade a woman you’re trying to date that you’re trustworthy and safe to be around, then yeah better to stay away.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:21 PM

You don’t understand what coercive control is, eh?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:19 PM

Straight women are in the unique situation of their dating pool also being their main predator. What you’re making is an argument for women to stop dating men.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:18 PM

So you think the law should be changed that victims also get punished?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:17 PM

Thankfully that’s not how the law works.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:14 PM

False. If someone steals your car is it your fault?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:11 PM

Have you heard of victim blaming?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:08 PM

This is on the money. I’d also add that women have legitimate reasons to fear men’s anger, because it’s what gets them killed.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:48 PM
1

Women aren’t the ones being marketed to with the aggressively masculine packaging.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:27 PM
7

I would do everything to be with him You should then. What’s stopping you? I’ll never understand men who express full blown romantic feelings towards their guy friends not just going for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:24 PM
1

But you only have to look at the men’s shelf of cosmetics to see how much men need to be reassured that what they’re doing isn’t feminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 03:37 PM
0

But “looksmaxxing” is so easily mockable, compared to just saying you have a skincare regime.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 03:32 PM
3

Well you seem to be having a conversation with someone who is not here.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:22 PM
0

But it’s true all the men ever talk about on here is how they’re not getting any sex. Thats not opening up about feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:21 PM
0

Since when does “loneliness, insecurities, confidence issues” have anything to do with sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:13 PM
3

No I didn’t, this is what toxic masculinity does, and I was saying it was harmful.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:05 PM
3

I hope this is irony
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:57 PM
1

That’s not true, it can still be cruel, you can still be ostracised
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:45 PM
1

That wasn’t clear from your first post.

And what are the stats for men?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:19 PM
1

If you’re dating them. Plenty of women see men asking about their sexual history as a red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:18 PM
2

As is men telling other men how to be “real men”. There is no such thing as “real men”.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:11 PM
2

Or maybe they just don’t want to *be* shamed for it
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:05 PM
2

That starts with men being tolerant of it in themselves
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:01 PM
3

I’m literally arguing the opposite, that telling men to dampen their emotions in order to be “real men” is harmful
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:00 PM
1

Cutting your nose off to spite your face
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 12:42 PM

That’s just self care, why give it such a stupid name?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 12:26 PM
3

Iconic
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 12:25 PM
6

Men are taught that having sex with women is the only thing that matters, because it gives them status over other men. So many of them are way too out of touch and scared of their real emotions to be open and vulnerable about them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 12:03 PM
1

Any woman who believes that is not worth it
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 11:57 AM
3

It’s horrible what society does to young boys. A real men’s rights movement would ensure it’s okay for men to cry.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 11:53 AM
2

Most men would choose the power to rape women? Yes that’s what feminists have been saying this whole time, rape culture is real and a lot of men begrudge having to ask women for their permission. Really telling on yourselves here.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 10:32 AM
5

It was miserable having to pretend to be something I’m not
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 07:14 PM
6

I was born male (at least on paper) so I can say for sure yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 05:22 PM
1

Yes they absolutely are. Most men see sex as a competition with other men. It’s about trying to increase their social status. They just see women as objects in that.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 03:07 PM
0

So many men do this, and don’t see an issue with it. It’s appalling.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 03:02 PM
2

Literally everyone has that unless they’ve had a BBL
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:47 PM

Using 4chan transphobic slurs? Gross
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:46 PM

What are hip dips?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:25 PM

My experience is that less conventionally attractive men are often more misogynistic in how they treat women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:22 PM
1

Well I’ve heard lots of people confirm this does happen, so I think it is very common. I’ve also had many men send me pictures of them fucking a girl on dating apps without her consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:20 PM
1

It’s an appalling consent violation
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:03 PM
2

Anecdotal, it’s really widespread. There’s a reason a bunch of countries have had to make laws about revenge porn.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:03 PM
3

Why do you assume it’s only conventionally attractive men who treat women badly? I know plenty of women who’ve “given a chance” to a man who looks like a thumb and he’s treated her just as badly as the other guys. The common denominator is men.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:02 PM
-1

It’s a gender stereotype.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 01:46 PM

The assumption that only conventionally attractive men behave badly towards women is so tired
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 01:46 PM

Oh right!
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 01:34 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 12:10 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 12:10 PM

I think you’re underestimating how much men are getting cosmetic procedures these days
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 11:44 AM

Why does Reddit automatically upvote my comments but doesn’t seem to do it for anyone else?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 11:43 AM
2

How is it random? If men are doing jaw exercises or getting jaw filler that’s clearly due to insecurity about their jawline not being masculine enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 11:35 AM
0

It’s really common that men share intimate pictures of their girlfriends and wives with their male friends or even with strangers on the internet. That’s way worse than women warning other women about fuckboys.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 10:57 AM
2

Sharing gooning pictures on social media is a massive fetish amongst gay men
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 10:53 AM

So a trans girl
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 10:00 AM

Lol when did straight men start to adopt “goon”? This is gay culture lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 09:45 AM

If men can mock women for having “fish lips”, is it okay for women to mock men for having overdeveloped masseters or jaw filler?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 09:10 AM

All men in the UK seem have this haircut. It basically looks like a flat cap made of hair. They also use it to try and cover up a receding hairline.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 09:09 AM

Says who? No it’s men that fear being emasculated.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:27 AM
1

Who said he can’t relax for a second? If it’s all equitable then relaxing should be 50-50 also. Take it in turns to have a nap whilst the other looks after the baby. Why is it men don’t understand what “equal” means?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:19 AM
1

It’s all part of the same thing. Get up in the middle of the night to comfort the baby 50% of the time. Change the nappies 50% of the time. Cook dinner 50% of the time. Give her a chance to have a nap whilst you care for the baby and take it in turns. What part of equitable do you not understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:15 AM

Of course it is
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:09 AM
1

Lots to do whilst she’s feeding. You could make dinner, clean the toilet, take the dirty nappies out to the bin. And once the child is older you have zero excuse not to look after the child equally.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:08 AM
1

There’s formula and also expressing
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:05 AM

More men should choose this life 👍
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:04 AM

“Unless she’s promiscuous” You all use this word like it’s a deadly disease
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 09:28 AM

Overthrowing the patriarchy means overthrowing the idea of the man as the head of the household. Men need to be grateful they are allowed near women at all. They should learn to share and know their place as subservient to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 09:11 AM

Men need to learn to be submissive and obedient.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 08:58 AM

Men should stay at home and do the chores. You can share them and then play video games when the women are busy.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 08:52 AM

Nah men need to learn to share
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 08:49 AM

Honestly I think it should be normalised that every girl should have at least two boyfriends.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 08:39 AM
1

Except men don’t think it’s okay for women to have height preferences? They moan about it all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 08:27 AM
1

These are hetero numbers
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 08:25 AM

Funny how men only think sexually objectifying women is demeaning if women turn around and try and charge them for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 07:54 AM

Why’s his apartment so messy 😭
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:39 AM

That’s placing your own limitations on it. Being an adult isn’t a sentence to be miserable. You have one life, live it.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:33 AM

How is it? Wear that Elizabethan ruff. Go on the teacups at the fair ground. Make your own midsummer floral crown. What’s stopping you?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:23 AM

If someone says “I think you’re beautiful” on the street, I’d maybe feel a little cautious, but ultimately I’d just say thank you and walk away. But it’s delusional to think this is all men say to women. Men make aggressively sexual comments to women they don’t know all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:21 AM
3

My friend used to work in a gay bar and would get sexually harassed and assaulted by lesbian women a lot. It happens and it’s definitely not okay. And if a lesbian woman tried to do that to be I’d absolutely feel intimidated. Thing is on the street that situation is vanishingly rare compared to how many men are sexually intimidating on a daily basis.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:17 AM
3

What? This is not even close to true. Women can be physically strong.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:10 AM
2

It should be an interview. You’re working out if you’re compatible.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:01 AM
1

It’s the definition of “traditionally feminine” I’m having a problem with.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 06:00 AM
0

What?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 05:59 AM

Delusional
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 05:58 AM
2

Apolitical is code for right wing
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 05:57 AM
3

Sure but women are allowed to be badass, flawed, power hungry. It’s ridiculous to say that’s not feminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:43 PM
2

Why’s that a problem?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:42 PM
3

You think Cersei or Daenerys aren’t feminine?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:25 PM
-1

Spend time with women, take an active interest in women’s lives, interests, aspirations, life challenges. You can’t expect to build a successful long term relationship with a woman if you don’t know anything about them or act like their interests aren’t worth knowing about.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:19 PM
6

It’s really interesting to me that men always choose Margaery when there’s so many powerful women in that series to choose from.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:13 PM
8

I clearly don’t understand the term. But I think the question is reasonable. If a man can’t identify a woman he admires then we’re not going to get on.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:05 PM
11

Why is this a “shit test”? A date is basically you interviewing each other to see if you’re compatible…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:01 PM
2

Yeah it’s distinguished
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:00 PM

You literally said that men don’t actually love women? They think they are boring and stupid. So really it’s just about men coveting women’s bodies.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:06 PM

Well all you’re saying then is that women have high standards and men have low standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 06:58 PM

That’s not true, it’s just that a lot of men are bad at selling themselves - don’t work on their appearance, don’t have any interests, have poor social skills etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 06:39 PM

In order for it to be equal, women have to want to equally buy what you are selling, so the onus is on you to make an attractive product.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 03:07 PM
-1

It means getting money out of people where I come from
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 02:53 PM
-2

Good for her
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 02:42 PM
13

> I also think this applies to child care. During that baby/infant stage when the mom does the bulk of the work, she resents it when he's not also working/busy with something. Why isn’t he putting in an equal share of caring for the children?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 01:43 PM
-1

I’ve had it on this very forum on multiple occasions. “That’s not sexual harassment, you can’t even look at/approach/talk to women any more”
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:59 AM
1

So don’t get married. Nobody’s forcing you to have a monogamous relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:58 AM
-2

Then why do men keep denying that sexual harassment is real?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:54 AM
2

What? Women don’t receive more in state benefits than men.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:53 AM
1

Gender stereotypes
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:30 AM
1

What?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:11 AM
1

Nope, lots of men have not got the message. I’ve had lots of men on here try and say sexual harassment isn’t real, it’s just women overreacting.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:09 AM
0

Because the way men open up isn’t healthy. It’s aggressive, angry, blames women. Be vulnerable, honest, cry about it and plenty of women will offer you support.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:08 AM
-2

Not enough men have got the message.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:06 AM
0

Women don’t have real problems? Jesus Christ do you hear yourself. I work with women who are victims of domestic violence. Women don’t have real problems my arse.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:03 AM
-1

Damage? Wtf. There is every need to continue posting stuff like this until men get the message. If that takes several generations so be it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:01 AM
3

What are you asking?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 10:49 AM
0

Men are highly emotional, but they’re told it’s feminine or vulnerable to express your emotions in healthy ways like talking your friends or a therapist, so they express their emotions through anger and violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 10:47 AM
0

I’d much rather a man who’s openly in touch with his emotions than a man who buries them and then flips and punches his hand through the drywall (or my face)
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 10:39 AM
9

Funny how it’s always “women should choose better” and never “men shouldn’t treat women badly”. Men can do no wrong eh? Whatever they do it’s women’s fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 10:07 AM
6

Men who have self-defined as “nice guys” have been the most abusive to me
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 10:07 AM
3

Thanks ♥️ It’s cool, I got it. I think it’s a fair comparison, it demonstrates how men just view women as “types” and not individuals.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 10:02 AM
3

Yeah it’s stuff like that, little microaggressions that persistently show these men just view us as sex objects and not as people that over time really got to me. I also had more than one instance of men not taking no for an answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:59 AM
6

I’m not responsible for how men treat me. That’s victim blaming.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:54 AM
4

Maybe my experience is different because I’m a trans woman so heavily fetishised for my body.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:53 AM
1

People need jobs.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:44 AM
0

Well it takes time and persistence to undo many generations of women being told they can’t do these sorts of jobs. And at every turn you have men like you saying women can’t do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:25 AM
0

The sexism of this. Because women are too dainty and might break a nail?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:18 AM
0

Your example literally proves the opposite, that there are women out there trying to change the status quo.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:17 AM
1

I don’t think it works at all, because men try to bottle them up and then explode and punch a wall.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:43 AM
0

That doesn’t answer the question
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:36 AM
6

Too late for what? Love how it’s “my mistake” 🙄
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:30 AM
2

That question is a trap
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:24 AM
1

I didn’t say any of those things. Don’t be so testerical.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:18 AM
3

I use to have a lot of casual sex, to sex clubs etc. but over time I found it really traumatic because of the way men spoke to me and treated me as a sex object. Fundamentally the way men treat “sluts” it’s misogynistic af.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:18 AM
3

You are wrong, and it’s pretty racist of you to assume the women in these countries don’t have a feminist movement.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:09 AM

Of course not, I never make offensive jokes.

https://news.sky.com/story/rail-passenger-who-asked-if-he-could-kiss-woman-is-first-to-be-sentenced-under-harassment-law-13552067 This is what men on here sound like when they minimise sexual harassment by saying “you can’t even talk to women now” or “you can’t even look at women now”. This man was drunk, cornered the woman on a train, grabbed her by the hair, wouldn’t get off her when she asked. She was absolutely terrified. He claimed in court “it was just banter” and the media reports it as h…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:05 AM

You’re now moving the goalposts by saying there’s nothing wrong with sexism in the workplace and women should just get over it. This is why society will never change. Men don’t want to change. They want the right to be sexist.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:59 AM
1

It’s challenging the idea that trans women were socialised as boys growing up.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:58 AM
1

None of the men who say this are actually “nice guys”.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:53 AM

It’s going to be worse in blue collar work. You think Joe the builder and his mates have stopped making sexist jokes? They literally still catcall women on the street.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:52 AM
2

It’s not a thing of the past. There was just a huge review of sexual harassment in the health service in my country. It’s rife.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:43 AM
2

Feminism exists in those countries. You think it doesn’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:32 AM
-2

Plenty more women would do blue collar labouring roles if they weren’t subjected to sexual harassment and jokes about their ability from the all male workforce.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 07:31 AM
1

What is it then? Because men seem to deny that anything counts.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 09:31 PM

If you’re at a sex club? Sure thing go for it. Anywhere else? Hell no.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 08:57 PM

It’s not “sadistic” though
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:21 PM
4

Yes
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:54 PM
4

False analogy. Women aren’t thinking about you when they choose what to wear. The correct analogy would be you not thinking about a homeless man when you buy an expensive car. The homeless guy might feel bitter about seeing you in an expensive car, but you’re not deliberately rubbing your wealth in his face.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:51 PM
6

It’s a sexual comment in the workplace which is highly inappropriate
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:47 PM
10

Why do you think it’s easier for lesbian women to find relationships? It’s common for lesbians to have to move vast distances to date someone as they can’t find anyone locally.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 05:27 PM
1

What a walking red flag. I’m sorry that happened to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 04:41 PM

So why do men try and hide their emotions?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 04:30 PM

The internet age really has screwed everyone up
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 03:47 PM

My girl friend has had seven men in a row stand her up on the day of the date. What’s going on?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 03:27 PM

I’ve no experience of women doing it, but men do it all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 03:14 PM

As a trans woman, I have to say that changing my hormonal profile has changed how I experience attraction quite a lot. I’d say I’m much more demisexual now than I was when I still had testosterone.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 01:58 PM
1

> This idea that acting flakey will make her value you more is false and she will just lose interest due to thinking you have lost interest in her. Only a woman that is ugly or desperate or low IQ would fall for this. Ohhh is this why they all cancel on the day of the date?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 01:22 PM

Boy who cried wolf there
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 01:17 PM

What?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 01:01 PM

You blame it all on your height, when in think in reality it’s your politics
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 12:48 PM
6

You hear women all the time bemoaning emotionally unavailable men.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 12:44 PM
3

I know lots of women who’d love an emotionally intelligent and submissive man who adores her. Men who are emotionally unavailable and pretend to be dominant are doing harming themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 12:40 PM
1

Not sure that’s true. I’ve definitely grown to find a guy more attractive over time the more I’ve got to know him.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 11:29 AM
1

This is a very strange viewpoint outside of the US
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 11:13 AM
2

Not sure why I should be tolerant of that. No civilised country bans abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 10:03 AM

Because it’s healthcare and it’s proven women can die without access to safe abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 09:49 AM

That’s why abortion is healthcare, same as contraception.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 08:22 AM
1

I mean it’s nonsense, it’s not a solution to anything
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 08:21 AM

It’s pathetic
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 08:00 AM

OBV because women are just sex objects eh?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:54 AM

You need better friends
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:53 AM

Absolutely not true at all. Men think about extreme sex so much because they are exposed to porn. If you stop masturbating the urge will decrease. You’re perpetuating the hormonal feedback loop.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:51 AM

You’re delusional. 1 in 3 women have experienced a sexual assault by a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:47 AM

You don’t need porn for well-being. Arguably its detrimental to men’s well-being, a lot of men are completely porn sick.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:46 AM

Trans people are part of the LGBTQ+, you won’t separate us. Why did you even bring this up? You clearly don’t hate paedos if you are protecting them on the right.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:45 AM

So you want to restrict marginalised groups, but powerful paedophiles are fine? Right wing politics is unhinged.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:40 AM

You’re not going to die from not watching porn
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:39 AM

Can we restrict the paedophiles in the white house
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:36 AM

Yet men still do degrade women all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:36 AM

One is healthcare, the other is not
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:35 AM

Yes you can, lots of countries are restricting access to harmful content, particularly for minors
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:34 AM

Porn is not a human right
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:24 AM

Might not be the same terminology but men absolutely grade women in this way
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:24 AM
4

The guy doesn’t “create” consent, it’s hers to give. Men can absolutely turn consent into a non-consent by saying the wrong things though.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:13 AM
4

Yeah it’s disturbing how many people lie about this stuff.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 07:01 AM
1

I think a lot of people just aren’t mature enough or skilled enough at communication to engage in ethical casual sex, which requires careful negotiation around consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:54 AM
0

We have contraception now. Wtaf.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:53 AM
1

Or men could stop sexually harassing women, it’s not a right.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:39 AM
1

Leering is literally defined as a form of street harassment in the official guidance
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 03:57 PM
1

So I should make myself look scary
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 03:51 PM
0

Well it’s illegal in my country, and yes you can control how you look at people
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 03:43 PM
8

Biological essentialism won’t save you
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 03:37 PM
0

There’s a difference between looking and leering
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 03:35 PM
1

So you’re saying men only understand the threat of violence from other men?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 03:05 PM
0

If you can suggest one that men would actually accept I’m happy to hear it. “No” isn’t usually enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 02:32 PM
1

It absolutely is the textbook definition of misogyny - dehumanisation of women based on whether men judge them to be sexually attractive or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 02:31 PM
-1

Doesn’t work. I can be holding my boyfriend’s hand and still some men will look me up and down.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 02:31 PM
1

Of course you’re not the first to say it, misogyny is widespread.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 11:23 AM
2

Satan is my boyfriend
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 09:45 AM
0

What’s the best way to stop men approaching then?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 09:36 AM
0

Well the next man who cold approaches me is getting a drink thrown in his face
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 09:15 AM
2

So those of us who find it distressing to be approached by men all the time just have to lump it so you can get your rocks off? Nice
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 08:49 AM
1

Pride isn’t designed to be family friendly, it’s a protest.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 08:47 AM
2

Women are not a monolith
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 08:31 AM
2

> You won't be labeled a creep or rejected harshly by girls for approaching them, because they like the attention. This is the biggest lie that men get told. “Women love attention”. Where the hell did that even come from? Just gives men an excuse to bother us.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 07:08 AM
0

I know men dehumanise women they don’t find attractive, but it’s rare to see someone admit it so blatantly.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 07:00 AM
1

Because it’s shallow, especially expecting women to perform femininity in a way that appeals to the male gaze
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:47 PM

It’s hard to be risk averse when so many men actively lie and manipulate women. You have to have a lot of experience of dating men to learn to recognise the red flags.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:39 PM
1

Anyone who only cares about looks is trash
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:38 PM

“Once a month” yeah because it’s hormonal. I have times of the month where every guy I see is hot, and other times where I can’t stand the sight of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:27 PM

Because the actively harmful guy is exciting. Exciting > boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:25 PM

Why are men like this? 😭
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:24 PM
8

> an obese women isn’t a women to me Says it all really
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:05 PM
-2

Only if you value monogamy
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 12:29 PM
1

I’d rather someone who likes me for me rather than because I’m appealing to some feminine stereotype
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 12:20 PM
1

Even if antagonism towards men exists in feminist circles, feminists don’t hold structural power to be enacting systemic harm on men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 11:41 AM
1

I’m in a very happy relationship of 5 years, and he loves my tattoos, short hair and boyish clothes. But thanks for your concern.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 10:46 AM

Yeah it’s ableist. He’s not doing anyone any harm, and probably needs to do it to remain calm.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 10:11 AM

Sometimes people like to make new friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 10:04 AM
1

I see that narrative as feminists trying to dissuade women away from marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 09:38 AM
8

Women are sold the idea that weddings are this magical thing where they get to be a princess for the day. It’s pure fantasy.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 09:24 AM
1

What counts as excessive? The above poster seems to mention it at every opportunity.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 08:01 AM

You can manipulate an anxious preoccupied attachment.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 07:28 AM
1

You what other industry also tries to rip off women by selling them hopes and dreams? Weddings.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 08:15 AM

The women I know are always like “hear me out” about some little freak. Whereas men are all just into women who look like Sydney Sweeney. Men literally invented a word for the ideal woman: The Stacey.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/26 08:34 PM
4

I hate when people assume I’m stupid or don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m feminine and softly spoken, when the reality is I’m highly educated and well read.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/26 06:11 PM
21

If consent is not withdrawable then it’s not valid.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 07:30 PM
18

If the state tried to legalise marital rape a lot more women would opt out of marriage, yes. What a stupid question.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 06:13 PM
8

Holy stereotype Batman. Not all women like the same things.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 02:34 PM

I don’t think it’s correct to say that personality has no gender. We live in a highly gendered society. Your relationship to your mother is likely to different to your relationship with your father.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 01:24 PM
1

As if men can spot when a woman has had 1ml of lip filler 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 07:04 AM
7

Men don’t seem to want any form of disagreement from women though. As soon as she stands up for herself she’s “crazy”, or a “bitch”, or “disagreeable”. The whole buzzword or “protecting my peace” is just about wanting women to be compliant.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 10:20 AM
8

Why would anyone listen to straight men about fashion, a subject they largely purport to not care about?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 10:06 AM
8

Well that’s contradicting yourself, because I thought men didn’t like fish lips, orange tans and 3 inch fingernails. But apparently these women are making a fortune on OF.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:54 AM
11

But baddies aren’t trying to appeal to the male gaze, that’s the point. High glamour is about dominance, not subservience.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:33 AM
1

Whilst that’s true, abusers tend to prey on naive people who haven’t got the experience to spot red flags.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:24 AM
3

When did men become so conflict averse?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:11 AM
7

It’s quite sad to spend your life trying to appeal to the “opposite” sex instead of wearing whatever the hell makes you happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:10 AM
6

“Gives us peace” by agreeing with everything you say, uh huh
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:06 AM
5

Yeah because most “normal men” want a compliant sex doll, not an actual woman with a mind of her own.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:03 AM
12

Not to mention their so-called beauty is just the result of excessive makeup and filters. No naturally beautiful, feminine woman would unironically refer to herself as a baddie, just like no truly confident, masculine man would refer to himself as an alpha male. Yeah that’s why she’s a baddie. She’s constructed an image of powerful glamour that men find abrasive and confrontational. Slay queen. “Naturally beautiful and feminine” read submissive and appealing to the male gaze. No thanks.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 09:01 AM
-1

TERFs are not feminists. Most feminists do not support TERFs, and they are certainly not responsible for them. If you want someone to blame for TERFs look at the Heritage Foundation.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 06:35 AM
8

A huge age gap relationship has the potential to be predatory and abusive regardless of gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 06:32 AM

And it’s still his choice to behave badly
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 03:14 PM

Nobody’s making men quack
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 03:00 PM

They do anyway regardless of whether I think it’s reasonable
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 02:14 PM

You literally identify as red pill and you’re saying you don’t play games with women? That’s what the red pill advocates for
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 01:19 PM

Which is?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 12:17 PM

What kind of men do you think I’m not seeing? I’ve talked to all sorts of types of men. Short, tall, old, young, thin, fat, hairy, smooth, all different races, classes etc. My only hard line is I won’t speak to anyone younger than 25 because I don’t want to be a creep. Men behave the same across the board. They all lie and manipulate to try and get sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 12:06 PM

I’ve spoken to all different kinds of men, and they all play the same games.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:52 AM

No, but if you don’t mean it and you’re just saying it because you think it’s what she wants to hear then it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:23 AM
1

You’ll have to ask someone with legal training that.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:22 AM

If it quacks like a duck
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:20 AM

Yes it is, that’s exactly the definition of coercion. If you’re being deceptive or manipulating people to get sex that’s coercion, as defined in law and by every sexual violence charity out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:17 AM

Well, the statements in the study all seem pretty coercive to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:10 AM
2

Nah average age for having a kid is well into the 30s these days. But also, not everyone wants kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:09 AM
3

No that’s still very young. You’ve got your whole life ahead of you. Why are young people in such a hurry to grow up?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:04 AM
3

That’s really young to be getting married imho…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:00 AM
3

I’m not familiar
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:57 AM
4

Wait so long for what?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:53 AM
1

Why does it matter?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:53 AM

> Because IRL most men are fine. Just like most women are fine. Most men are fine… to other men… but treat women like crap.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:46 AM

It shouldn’t be about “getting what you want”, it should be about self-confidence. Women don’t change their bodies to manipulate others, they do it to feel better about themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:40 AM

Yeah it’s completely fine. Do what makes you feel happy and self-confident.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:39 AM
17

It’s always safer to compliment someone’s choices rather than something they can’t help. Staff working in retail are always told to compliment customers, but only on the choices they’ve made about their appearance.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:38 AM

So you’ve pre-judged the study before reading it. Very scientific 👍
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:29 AM

In order to “resort” to being an asshole you have to lack compassion for the person you are being an asshole towards.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:20 AM

Asylums? We haven’t had any asylums for half a century.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:18 AM
1

As I say, the courts would decide that based on whether any reasonable person would find the behaviour “threatening abusive or insulting”. There is no defined period of time. If you’re worried best not to stare at people at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 10:17 AM
9

Your original comment said “women” rather than “victims”, thats what I was responding to.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 07:51 PM

She’s iconic, I’d absolutely take that as a compliment
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 07:47 PM
0

It’s not about time looking, it’s about whether you respond to the other person if they notice you looking. It’s polite to look away. Seriously, I’m autistic and yet I’m having to teach basic manners to people. The law in my country defines leering as “intrusive or persistent staring” or “unnecessarily invading personal space” and the legal test is whether any reasonable person would find the behaviour “threatening, abusive or insulting”.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 07:15 PM
0

You have control over what you look at. Staring at someone is rude no matter what they are wearing. And leering at someone is sexual harassment.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 06:42 PM
7

I don’t think it’s a “woman only” thing. I never said that. I’m saying that it is a serious trauma and it shouldn’t be dismissed or minimised.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 06:40 PM
10

You’re the one minimising serious sexual crimes?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 05:51 PM
13

It’s not a red herring, it’s a genuine fear a lot of women have because they’ve got personal experience of it. If you can’t recognise that women are traumatised from dating men and be sympathetic about that, then you shouldn’t be approaching women.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 05:35 PM
10

What nuance is there about rape?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 05:29 PM
1

Plenty of men engage in leering at women all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 04:29 PM
2

There are absolutely laws against leering though.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 04:03 PM
8

Why can’t men learn to keep their eyes in their heads? It’s called common decency. Don’t make other people feel uncomfortable because you can’t control your own desires.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 03:52 PM
1

During a public execution?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 02:36 PM
1

Most porn is made for men. There’s plenty of smut out there for women, it’s just often literary. This morning I read an Anaïs Nin short story about a woman being fucked by an anonymous man in a crowd while she watched a public execution. Only a woman could have written that.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 11:40 AM
2

You would think so, most of the gender wars seem to just be about different cultural conditioning.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 07:50 AM
0

I’m not virtue signalling though. I don’t care whether guys see me as virtuous. I genuinely find the Marvel Chads interchangeably boring. Give me Christopher Walken over Johnny Depp.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 07:38 AM

Well quite. You can remember having great sex but not remember his name or really what he looked like.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 07:17 PM

Reminiscing about the sex
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 07:01 PM

What part of “he had nothing else going for him and was a bit nuts” is a compliment?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 05:05 PM
11

A lot of straight people assume gender presentation = sexuality, and I think it’s because that’s why they do gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 04:46 PM
2

Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but I much prefer guys who are funny-looking hot to generic hot. People are more attractive when their features have character.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 03:10 PM
1

If you say so
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 02:58 PM

> A bluepill man invest time on things like therapy, he has nothing to show for it if bluepill advice doesn't work. Therapy is about improving your mental health. If you don’t think that’s a benefit in and of itself then you have bigger problems than a dead bedroom.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 02:32 PM
2

What’s HTN mean? I feel like the hottest guys are in that group. The top two groups are boring af.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 02:15 PM
3

This is ridiculous. Why the hell not? Straight people are so weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 12:52 PM
3

> Is it just an expectation that other men hold onto men? Bingo.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 12:41 PM

I assume that all straight men who are “being friendly” have an ulterior motive. Most straight men treat women they are not sexually interested in as completely invisible.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 09:23 AM

Men think they are being subtle - they are not.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/26 09:21 AM

There isn’t going to be a “30-50 years time”, the world is on fire.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 11:59 AM
2

The UK
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 07:18 AM
1

Uh, most transphobes are men.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 07:17 AM

I feel like if someone wants to engage in consensual objectification that needs to be carefully negotiated beforehand. I’ve done kink scenes where a boy was a lamp or a table for a while, but he can safeword out at any time and we go back to being equals.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 05:05 PM

Nah bullshit. Men do this to women all the time so they have to explain it away with “well she wanted it”.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:54 PM

Blaming other people for your shitty behaviour isn’t the one
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:53 PM

The Royal We 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:52 PM

This is why we say men ruin everything
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:35 PM

Wanting to be seen as sexy sometimes isn’t the same as wanting to be objectified.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:33 PM

So explain your rationale rather than just being snarky.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:28 PM

You think only good looking men behave like this?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:27 PM

No they do not. Women want to be treated like they matter, that they are desired for who they are as a person. They do not want to be reduced to sex objects. If a guy is doing that then he’s not “the right guy”.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 04:24 PM

It’s dumb to talk about statistical facts?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 02:45 PM
1

How is it wrong? Patriarchy is a system set up by men to benefit men. Just because some women perpetuate it and some men suffer from it does not change this fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 02:44 PM

Men ruining dating apps by turning them into sex hunting apps.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 01:14 PM
0

Maybe not this post, but men on this forum frequently try to blame women for all of their ills.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 01:06 PM

Yes both. If their jealousy extends to flying off the handle or tracking your movements it becomes abuse. I’ve personally experienced this as have my girl friends. This is why I’m always wary of self-defined “nice guys”. A healthy relationship is one which respects your partners autonomy but also trusts them to want to stay with you - a secure attachment.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 01:04 PM
-1

Yet men always want to blame women, instead of blaming patriarchy
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 11:19 AM

Well, it’s just my experience of “nice guys” - if you give them attention they become possessive very quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 10:40 AM

If a guy’s been abusive to other women then there will be talk. I’m not saying women should ignore red flags or not talk to other women. And what part of “I’ve given a chance to nice guys” did you miss? I’m talking from experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 10:37 AM

Yeah, women talking is the greatest strategy and I don’t think a lot of men realise women do this.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 10:28 AM

Not a lie. I’ve taken a punt on the “nice guy” plenty of times as have my girl friends. It often leads to them being possessive and controlling and you have to have a painful breakup.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 10:28 AM
-2

Yes, they do, I’m not denying that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 10:26 AM

The idea that women avoiding “unwanted” men is some moral failing is often presented on here, but this ignores the fact that men’s desperation can be dangerous for women. A man who’s desperate finally getting some attention can be come possessive, controlling, and this can even lead to violence. Men’s desperation can lead to taking what they want without consent. This is what women are trying to avoid. There is something about men having had a previous LTR that is evidence of him (probably) bein…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 09:59 AM
-4

If systematic misandry exists then it is perpetrated by men, not by women. Who decided that certain jobs are only for men including the military? Who upholds the idea that men can’t be abused and sexually assaulted and they should just man up and stop complaining? These are all patriarchal ideas.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 09:13 AM
1

That’s not true. If men brand you a slut it’s very difficult to get them to take you seriously for a LTR. They use you for sex and then ghost.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 08:34 AM

I sound dumb for pointing out that 80% of violence against women is perpetrated by a partner or family member?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 08:33 AM
1

I hope you’re getting tested at least
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 08:15 PM
2

I’ve had a lot less sex than I thought if only unprotected counts.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 08:13 PM
1

Unprotected? Wtf
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 07:36 PM
1

Not sure what this has got to do with the previous point.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 07:29 PM
5

Except men aren’t bringing back “sluts” to meet their mother.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 07:27 PM
5

Well of course. But clearly a lot of men are insecure about that. It’s kind of the basis of most arguments on this forum.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 01:41 PM
5

What isn’t true?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 01:35 PM
7

Men need their own “she’s just not that into you” moment

You tell men you just see them as a dick to be used and that you’ve got lots of other men lining up to be that dick, and you don’t want to know their name or see them ever again, a lot of men get funny about it
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 01:27 PM
12

I’ve tried treating men as interchangeable sex objects when negotiating hook ups before. They really don’t like it. Men want to consider themselves the main character in the story.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 01:24 PM
7

I think this is projection. This is how men view the difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 01:14 PM
3

I don’t disagree with you, it is possible to have respectful and decent hookups. But saying that, I don’t believe the average fuckboy is respectful towards women, he’s just picking up drunk girls at clubs.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 01:01 PM
5

Tried it, unfortunately it was not for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:56 PM
8

Unfortunately I get a lot of sexual attention from men.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:53 PM

There’s very little difference in terms of commodifying women’s bodies. At least with a sex worker he’s compensating her though.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:51 PM

Femininity as an aesthetic is one thing. But as soon as we start gender things like being nurturing, emotional, assertive etc that’s problematic. All human beings have or are capable of these traits.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:44 PM
10

We should value all people and human traits equally, and not try and gender or objectify them.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:35 PM

Yes, it’s really good practice to ask and share your results
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:26 PM
16

Being sexually objectified isn’t power. Men literally do not see the women they find sexy as people, they see them as entirely interchangeable with any other sexy feminine woman. The best you can hope for is a man might part with his cash because he’s so overwhelmed with lust, but he’ll likely block you later when he gets post-nut clarity.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:20 PM
4

Care to elaborate?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 12:08 PM
11

At least in my country, you’re considered weird if you don’t like sports.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 11:37 AM
10

This doesn’t make any sense. Femininity is treated as frivolous, weak, unintellectual, emotional, dramatic, across the board. Feminine women are treated like they lack agency, for women to be taken seriously in her career she is told she needs to adopt “masculine” traits. Feminine gay men, femme lesbians, and femme trans women are especially derided for it, because a lot of people can’t understand why you’d adopt these less respected traits if you have the option to not do so. People assume it’s…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 11:12 AM

Because MRAs want the right to continue to be misogynistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 07:55 AM

I’m not going somewhere where people can be openly transphobic towards me if that’s what you mean. Why would I do that?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 07:55 AM

Your fear of not being labelled a freak within the in group is absolutely part of the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/26 07:54 AM

If we included the false promises the number would be much higher.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:21 PM

You’re so indoctrinated with your anti-feminist DARVO. Sure “women impose gender roles in men”. Sure thing. Enjoy raising your own kids or having to pay someone to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:20 PM

What are you on about?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:17 PM
1

And yet that same man will complain that his girlfriend settled for him
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 09:53 PM

So you can lie but you demand honesty from others even at the expense of their privacy. Hypocrisy at its finest.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 09:53 PM

If you’ve undermined consent it’s non-consensual. And I love how you try and minimise men’s outright lying, getting women drunk, spiking drinks. We’re all just being ridiculous eh?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 09:50 PM
8

The way you’re all trying to bargain about which shitty behaviour is acceptable and which isn’t is very telling
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 02:50 PM
4

Well maybe men should contribute to raising kids and caring for elderly relatives so women can work longer hours. The government release gender pay gap data annually, and they control for hours worked etc, and the gap still exists. The pay gap exists whether you like it or not. Controlling for “types of jobs” doesn’t work, why are the types of jobs men do paid more?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 02:44 PM
7

Yes, it would. Rape is non-consensual sexual activity. If consent is violated then it’s rape.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 02:22 PM

nagging wives and dead bedrooms This is all the evidence you need that men also settle
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 02:13 PM

I don’t think it’s just as bad, but I do think it falls under the heading of sexual assault. Have you seen the pyramid diagram of hierarchy of sexual violence?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:46 PM
2

Well, evolutionary psychology is bunkum.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:45 PM
3

The gender pay exists because men work longer hours, work more overtime, take fewer holidays and predominate in the most dangerous and demanding jobs. Men are given those opportunities and women aren’t. Also men don’t have as many caring responsibilities outside of work. Do you have any actual examples of this? No but the government data still finds an effect even when you control for part-time working etc. Meanwhile the conviction rate of female rapists in the UK is 0, because the law is so wri…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:41 PM

Lying to get sex absolutely undermines consent, if the other party would not have said yes if they’d been told the truth. As a trans woman, the jurisdiction in my country has said I have to disclose to every sexual partner that I’m trans (which I deem to be very personal private information) or it could be considered sexual assault and I could be prosecuted. Yet men lie to get sex all the time and don’t think there’s anything wrong with it? Why the double standard?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:32 PM

People would give men way more compliments if they didn’t take it as a sexual come on every time.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:26 PM
4

Every major rape charity defines it as such.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:20 PM
2

Isn’t it? It sounds like “bifurcating good genes resource provisioning”. You’re the one that brought up “dual mating strategies” in the first place?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:19 PM
2

Why is one immoral and the other fine?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:11 PM
8

PUA tactics are pretty much encouraging sexual assault
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 12:59 PM
2

How does it differ? You see men chasing after women they see as a sluts for just sex, and then settling down with dowdy normie girls
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 12:58 PM
5

You think rape is only when there’s physical force?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 12:48 PM
4

It’s ridiculous, this data comes out every year and they want to pretend it’s a lie. The fact that the pay gap is even higher for black women and for trans women just proves it’s systemic discrimination at work.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 12:40 PM
6

It is the norm. 1 in 3 women have been sexually assaulted. I am going to be wary of men until they prove themselves to be safe. You can’t blame me for protecting myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 12:38 PM
5

The gender pay gap exists because women get less often employed and promoted into higher paying roles. However saying that even when you control for part time work etc it still exists, so clearly some women are being paid less for the same job despite it being illegal. Unpaid care work - caring for children, disabled and elderly relatives. Why do women do the vast majority of this? Health inequalities for women are widely documented. Women’s medicine is treated a joke. I suggest you go away and …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 12:25 PM
11

You assume because you are ethical and law-abiding that “the vast majority of men” are. What evidence do you have for that? Also a lot of men judge themselves to be ethical and law-abiding but their behaviour is anything but.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:56 AM
16

Most rapists are not “men in dark alleys”. When I got groped in a bar, and on the train, it was in broad daylight amongst hundreds of people. But also the vast majority of rape is done by a partner or a family member, not a stranger.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:50 AM
8

So why do we still have a gender pay gap? Why do women still do the vast majority of unpaid care work and childrearing? Why are the right wing coming for abortion rights? Why are there measurable health inequalities? Why is sexual and domestic violence at an all time high?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:49 AM
18

Okay, so if I take accountability for extremist feminists and try to challenge these ideas within the movement, will you take accountability for violent men and try to challenge misogynistic beliefs?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:37 AM
18

You blame us if we get raped that we didn’t take appropriate precautions, but complain if we avoid men that we’re tarnishing you all with the same brush. You can’t have it both ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:35 AM
8

Equality has not been achieved, and there’s lots of evidence it’s going backwards in the Western World.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:17 AM
18

It is entirely hypocritical to judge all men by the behavior of a violent minority while demanding that your own movement be judged solely by its most polite members. Except it’s not a minority of men, it’s extremely commonplace. There was a study recently showing that when you don’t call it rape, 95% of men admit to coercive tactics and other behaviours which undermine consent. And it’s all very well saying you don’t want to be judged on the behaviour of violent men, if you are doing nothing to…

Men also do “af/bb” if they are able. They will have casual sex with very hot women who they treat as sex objects, and settle down with a woman who’s “wife material”.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 09:55 AM
4

Yeah she should be okay with this. There’s no good reason for her not to be except homophobia.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 07:37 AM

Only poor men complain about gold diggers (because they can’t afford them). Men who can afford it love to splash their cash on women.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 07:13 AM

Getting married and having kids is proven to be harmful to the health of women. They have shorter lifespans and poorer physical and mental health.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 07:57 PM

Or, having kids is bad for your physical and psychological well-being, and people with greater autonomy choose to opt out of harming themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:19 PM

No men ruined cold approaching, by being creeps, following women home, saying overtly sexual things to women they don’t know, groping women on the train and in bars, by catcalling. Don’t blame women for all of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 02:40 PM

If I have to be honest with men I sleep with that I’m trans, they should have to be honest too
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 02:15 PM

Or the fact that they lied to get sex
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 02:13 PM

They are not looking for a relationship, it’s a lie to get sex
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 02:10 PM

Lying to get sex invalidates consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 02:05 PM

So just be honest about only looking for casual.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 02:04 PM

Not really, they’ve no intention of letting it develop into a relationship. As soon as they’ve got sex they lose your number.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 02:04 PM

Why can’t men be honest about the fact that they’re just looking for sex? The whole “well I’d prefer something casual at first but I’d be open to a relationship if it develops naturally” line that so many men use is such bullshit. If one party is looking for a relationship and the other is looking for just casual, that’s should be a dealbreaker.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 12:10 PM

Not my experience. Women look out for each other and don’t trust men to help out in any way. Whenever someone has intervened in public it’s usually a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 11:36 AM

The irony is statistically those men are the biggest risk to their female family members.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 11:35 AM

I’ve only ever seen men saying they won’t intervene because they’d be risking their own safety. Whilst men also say we need men to protect us. Personally, I only trust my sisters to protect me, safety in numbers.

I get that there is pressure coming from cis women. But ultimately you can’t blame other people for your behaviour.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 07:15 AM
3

Well it’s more than that. The amount of guys who look at me and my girl friends on the street for instance. Either they don’t know we’re trans or they’re very into trans women. What evidence do you have to the contrary?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 09:37 PM
3

Why do you assume I’m basing this solely on who approaches me?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 09:25 PM
1

I still reckon it is the majority. I know lots of trans women and men approach us like they’re the first man in the world to have ever realise trans women are hot, but in reality the men who are not into it are much rarer.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 08:57 PM
3

Why do I need to check their messages? I’ve just asked them. I prefer bi men and select for them, but most men who are into me are straight.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 08:47 PM

Trans women are rare, the men who are into them are common. Because of this fact alone, the average trans woman has more dating options than the average cis women.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 08:46 PM

Sure, but it’s a huge amount of cishet men.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:41 PM

Yeah, a lot of men prefer femininity. And yes, we are unicorns, most men could only dream.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:38 PM

Yeah for sure. Women on the whole are more trans inclusive than men, but there are plenty of cis women who are transphobic, especially when it comes to the idea of their man being attracted to us.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:37 PM
2

Trans surgeries are expensive.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:36 PM

Screaming at this. I definitely think this is how most men see it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:29 PM

They could be, but me and my trans girlfriends have spoken to lots of men who identify as straight, and would consider dating or sleeping with a trans women, but would never consider dating or sleeping with a cis man.

Trans women have more dating options than most cis women
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:25 PM

Sure, although I don’t think my “existing hardware” was ever particularly manly
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 05:00 PM

Men are misogynistic and sexually objectify women, what do you want me to say?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:52 PM
2

If they’re bi-curious why are they solely pursuing trans women and not cis men?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:51 PM
1

I think the mistake is the assumption that biological sex is a strict binary, and also that “change” only means a complete change from one side of the binary to the other, whilst all partial changes are ignored. Trans people have biological bodies that are neither entirely the same as either cis men or cis women.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:49 PM
3

Plenty of trans women have vaginas
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:32 PM
3

Gross. Yes I’m well aware that men fetishise trans women and treat us as sex objects. You don’t have to brag about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:20 PM
1

Hormones switch on gene expression you already had which is how you get the development of secondary sex characteristics. If that’s not changing your biology I don’t know what is. It’s literally biohacking.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:15 PM
0

No sorry. I won’t accept this new transphobic trend of thinking it’s acceptable to misgender trans people if you put “biologically” in front of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:13 PM
-1

Transsexual people change their biology with hormones and surgery. That’s why it’s called a sex change. I didn’t change my gender, I was always feminine. I changed my sex to align with my gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:08 PM
4

Yeah that’s definitely a thing. Some chasers are very much more into clocky trans women, and you can transition out of their interest by becoming too passing.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:06 PM
-2

Trans women are not “biologically male”. That’s misgendering.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 04:02 PM
5

It is not true that every straight man secretly wants trans women. But it is also not true that attraction to trans women is some ultra rare thing only a tiny fringe of men experience. Yeah this is likely the truth. I wasn’t suggesting every single straight man is into trans women (although plenty of them who say they are not might well be before realising she is trans).
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 03:55 PM
-1

Nah, as a trans woman, a majority of cis het men are into trans women. All the trans women I know have thousands of messages on dating apps. Men are into it, they just won’t be open about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 03:49 PM
8

Nah, “most” straight men are into trans women, they just aren’t open about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 03:46 PM
13

As a trans woman: both things are true. Men don’t want to be mocked by other men OR have cis women refuse to date them by openly dating trans women. Thing is, you’re trying to blame women here, but the reality is these men are still choosing to keep the trans women they are sleeping with a secret. It’s still their choice to engage in shitty behaviour, regardless of whether there is societal pressure for them to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 03:45 PM

Depends where you are. There’s loads of alternative people in my country.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 09:04 AM

You can catch that from anyone

Why?

Consuming free porn is even less ethical. If you need to consume porn put your money towards supporting sex workers.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 09:39 PM

Well I’m very glad I live in a country which does not have conscription and has very robust protections for abortion, even if it’s not perfect in other ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 08:26 PM
5

Yeah men really shouldn’t be able to vote on that
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 07:41 PM
3

Not your body, not your choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 07:27 PM
1

Yeah, it’s harmful to stereotype others. It’s frequently used as a tool of oppression. Racial stereotypes used to mock and demean racial minorities etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 07:16 PM
4

They are stereotypes because they describe an exaggerated archetype, so of course there’s truth in them. They become harmful when they are reductive, applied to people whom they don’t apply to, or enforced on people.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 04:58 PM
19

Being pegged by a woman doesn’t make you homosexual
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 04:40 PM

Men treat sex as a competition with other men. Women are just an object to be used. The more degrading the sex the better.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 01:06 PM

We can think it’s sick though
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 01:04 PM

Well, for clothes I try to buy secondhand for a start. If I’m buying new I research the company’s ethical profile, see if they’ve published data on their worker’s pay etc, try to buy natural fibres.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 12:33 PM
5

I try to choose ethically with all my purchases yes. I don’t buy fast fashion. I try to buy sustainable local produce. None of this is hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:13 AM
3

I’d rather have objective proof that porn has been ethically produced before consuming it
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 09:57 AM
11

You’ve contradicted yourself. Your initial post said we couldn’t possibly know.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 08:30 AM
6

Gender stereotypes in general are bullshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 08:17 AM
17

How would we even begin to know if a scene shot at someone's home includes the kind of prep-work, drugging, and behind the scenes abuse as stereotypical scummy porn agencies do? Well, this is the problem. I have no issue with ethically produced consensual porn. But if we can’t know which porn is ethical and which is abusive, then consuming it becomes problematic.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 08:02 AM

There’s lots of other ways you could have expressed that
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 07:22 AM

Well the mindset is sexist, and your language is also sexist.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 07:13 AM

“Acquire” - women are not property. Might want to rethink the language on this one.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:59 AM
1

Yeah seems to be really common, I think this is why so many bi men are closeted
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:49 AM
2

A lot of straight people only seem to care about pregnancy and don’t think STIs will affect them because they are straight. It’s why you get a lot of women avoiding bi men also - pure homophobia.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:31 AM
0

How? A lot of guys talk a big talk but when it comes to a hookup they’ve no idea what they are doing.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:27 AM
1

That’s so irresponsible
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 05:40 AM

Maybe women care about more than just looks?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 09:05 PM
1

Most men don't feel comfortable opening up and being vulnerable with their friends, fearful it will be met with dismissal and mockery. This is such a sad indictment of masculinity. A real men’s rights movement would be trying to undo this stuff.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:59 PM
1

It’s relative yes, but as a trans woman my country has even dropping down the rankings of safety pretty rapidly over the last 10 years, to the point where I know other trans people who’ve successfully claimed asylum elsewhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:56 PM
1

I appreciate people in other countries have it worse, but I very rarely feel truly safe even so.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:47 PM

Doesn’t make much sense. How can an ND person date an NT? They wouldn’t have anything in common.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:02 PM

I’m very confused by this. All the autistic women I know are dating other autistic people.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 07:03 PM

Okay, well I guess normies are gonna have boring taste, but there are lots of women out there with freaky taste.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:54 PM

Are you only listening to the boring blonde girls you find attractive?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:49 PM

I know loads of freaky girls. They’re not rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:44 PM

Yeah I hear that a lot. I dunno, lots of red flags there, some guy trying to get you to give up being a literal princess to go and live in his troll hut.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:43 PM

Sometimes, sometimes not
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:42 PM

Staying in an abusive relationship to get sex is bonkers
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:15 PM

I don’t get where this idea that women all chase after the same five identikit guys comes from. Women are always doing “hear me out” about all sorts of freaky men.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:13 PM

Which is supposed to be which?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:11 PM

Disagree. Most men have terrible fashion sense, bad haircuts, god ugly shoes, and wear cheap cologne. Good genetics doesn’t make up for that. Masculinity really is a prison.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 04:49 PM

Disagree, an up the nose shot is going to make anyone look bad
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 03:53 PM

Doesn’t matter how physically attractive you are if it’s a terrible photo
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 03:25 PM

If women mock men for beauty efforts they are trash, but it’s the same double standard women experience, that you have to look “naturally beautiful” and if people notice your efforts to try and improve your beauty it’s mocked. Look at how cruel people are to women who get facelifts. I don’t have a just world bias. I’m sorry if you’re struggling to improve damaged skin, that’s tough. I’m merely pointing out that a lot of men make zero effort and/or terrible choices, and think that if they are tal…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 09:18 AM

Really? Even your average woman has spent a huge amount of time learning how to do her makeup and hair well, as well as practicing how to pose for photographs. The fact that men are shamed for caring about beauty shows they care more about the opinions of other men than they do being selected by women. You can’t expect to be attractive if all you did is wash your face with your 3-in-1 shampoo and body wash.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 09:02 AM

Because a lot of men’s first pictures are atrocious. Women spend years of their lives learning how to make themselves more photogenic, but men think they are above this.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:52 AM

Maybe just more men present themselves really badly?

There are appropriate places to approach women, and on the street is not one of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 07:46 PM

I’m really not sure I understand the question? We culturally associate certain looks with assertiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 07:32 PM

Because it’s about self worth, not what others think of me. It’s certainly got nothing to do with sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 10:42 AM

So say you’re trying to speak to your boss about work, and he just keeps staring at your boobs and ignoring what you are saying.

Why do some men always put their hand in their pants? 😭
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 12:05 PM
1

Sure, but ultimately being topless shouldn’t be sexualised, and it’s misogynistic that it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 11:53 AM
1

It’s still a double standard. If men can walk around topless, women should be able to also, under gender equality laws.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 11:39 AM

I guess the question is why are men all trying to be the same? If they diversified they’d find the women into their niche.

What's an example of attacking masculinity itself without the implication that the man is failing at masculinity? The opposite, attacking men who are succeeding at masculinity. Attacking toxic masculinity. Saying that being a tall, boorish alpha male is repulsive. Also, by the same token, attacking femininity itself is also fair game, right? Nope, because femininity is hated and oppressed in our society. I guess my confusion is you calling denigration of men for failing at masculinity “misandry”…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:39 AM

I agree that masculinity is policed heavily by the patriarchy. So in answer to your question… I’d say it would be offensive to mock men for being effeminate or for failing at masculinity. But attacking masculinity itself? Fair game.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:31 AM
3

Men aren’t attacked for having masculinity by the patriarchy? Masculinity is rewarded by the patriarchy. But wouldn’t personally be my style, I’m not into humiliation, I’d rather a good boy who enjoys service.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:26 AM

I agree, these are fundamental human rights.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:22 AM
2

I disagree, a male being a sub is subverting existing power dynamics. On the flip side I would never let a cis man dom me. Men want to be doms so they can play out the power and abuse of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:08 AM

Nothing wrong with it so long as everyone involved is consenting, there is good ethical negotiation of what’s going on, and safe risk-aware practice. I personally also have a policy in BDSM of not engaging in any dynamics that replicate societal oppressions, e.g. no misogyny, transphobia, racism etc. There’s a lot of problematic stuff out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 08:41 AM

I don’t know anything about men’s urges. What I think is men should learn to respect others as equal human beings with autonomy and rights. I’m not sure I follow your logic. Women of all political persuasions have to deal with sexual objectification. Sure, you get conservative women who uphold patriarchal notions of a women’s role in society, but often they’re hypocrites because they still don’t like being sexualised in public or in the workplace. I’m not sure what you mean by “the female gaze i…

You said “her whole identity resolves [sic] around trying to show her coochie”, so I just went off of that. If that’s true, then it’s a business model that’s taking advantage of the fact that men sexually objectify women. If it’s not true, then men are just sexually objectifying her and ignoring her musical talent. I’ve no idea who she is so couldn’t possibly comment which is the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 08:24 AM

How are people supposed to socialize when people are spouting rules so strict as this? Don’t look at anyone? Don’t bother anyone? This is silly. You can socialise with people, you can talk to them and get to know them. Just make sure the other party is consenting first. We have a whole host of things called “manners” which exist in polite society for this exact purpose.

I suggest you read this article
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 08:17 AM

So don’t ask yourself, if you’re unsure, ask her. I just don’t think men spend enough time ensuring women are consenting. That should be the forefront of your mind when trying to approach.

Shoulder pads, red lipstick. Basically I try to look like a 1940s film noir diva who’s pointing a gun at you.

He definitely is in some cases. You don’t find many pussybow blouses in the men’s section.

I don’t really understand what this is in relation to?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 08:07 AM

Because it seems like we constantly have to either second guess what men are going to do, or put on a suit of armour to repel them. Either way, living under the male gaze is exhausting.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 09:42 PM

Because men still behave in a sexually objectifying way if they like what they see. Whether it’s intended for them is irrelevant.

I’d say Alan Cumming is one of the best dressed men out there. Obviously he has access to a designer budget, and I get that most people don’t.

Why do men think they are a “buyer” even when women ain’t selling anything?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 09:24 PM

Sexual objectification is about reducing someone to a non-human object. Just a body part.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 09:23 PM

It still can, when you’ve done a makeup look for yourself, to make you feel like a boss bitch, and still men think you’re asking to be sexually objectified. This ain’t for men. I don’t care if I’m wearing red lipstick, it doesn’t mean I’m asking to be ogled.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 09:22 PM

I’d have to ask her female fans what they like about her. I imagine it’s not the same things men like about her.

You can’t treat the people you want to fuck as equals?

Well that’s just false. I was wearing women’s clothing long before I transitioned.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 09:17 PM

Well, I’ve no idea who she is so I was just going by what you said. I imagine if men are just seeing what she’s wearing and suggestive dancing they are not listening to her lyrics.

False analogy. Men aren’t addicted to objectifying women. They do it to keep women in their place.

You’re the one who said it was?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 08:51 PM

Because I know how threatening it is when other people stare at me. I experience it every day. So I try not to do that to others, otherwise I’d be a hypocrite. If I need to do more than that, then yeah you seek consent, either explicitly or implicitly. It’s called manners.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 08:50 PM

I don’t buy it, personally. I’d much rather a well dressed overweight guy than a gym fit guy who can’t dress.

Not at all
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 08:28 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 08:06 PM

I think most men don’t have any reference by which to compare this.

Personally, I don’t think wearing a uniform makes you stylish. Real style means expressing your individuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 07:45 PM

saying they don’t wear makeup for men, they wear it for themselves (which is a contradiction on it's own, but that's a post for another day though) Why is this a contradiction? Women can wear makeup to feel confident and powerful, or just as artistic expression. Why do men assume the only reason to wear it is to sexually attract men?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 07:43 PM

That sub is banned, what are you referring to?

Why would you leave because your waitress was pregnant? Does that stop her from doing her job? Of course, I’ll never respect any of them as much as the nice modest girl who doesn’t show a lot of skin. Regardless of whatever reasoning they have cooked up in their head of why it’s feminist when they do it but not others. Well that’s the problem isn’t it. Men want to split women into wife material and whores. Misogyny 101.

Seeing as purely a sex object is disrespectful.

People are legally and morally responsible for their own actions. The only exception to that is if they’re declared legally insane.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 03:48 PM

How men feel in their own heads is not the problem. I can have an impulse in my head to push someone off a cliff but it’s only a problem if I actually do it. But the problem with sexual objectification of women is that men do act on it, frequently. Women are constantly the victims of their actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 03:27 PM

Are you seriously trying to claim that men have no ability to control their arousal? How convenient. “It wasn’t my fault I sexually assaulted that woman, she made my body sexually aroused and I have no control over that”
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 03:21 PM

It’s not meaningless. Men could decide tomorrow to be decent to women and respect them as equals. But they don’t.
