People losing socialization due to social media, unironically, so then they end up making these stereotypes based on warped views of what they see happening among those who do/can socialize.

My view is that young women- late teens and early 20s- do, but that changes. What do I know though? I’m a 19 year old virgin who’s never been in a relationship.

I don’t think emotional labor is a gendered term. I’ll have to look more into it though; I’ve never heard anyone use it in real life or online besides people saying it’s meaningless or dumb phrase.

Video games- mostly men who play them. Can be addicting. Add nothing in terms of what’s generally looked upon as good for adults to have (financial wealth, social status, muscle, humor, intelligence, etc). Social media- causes people to compare themselves to others and therefore feel FOMO/jealousy. Can be addicting. Is easier for girls/women to gain popularity on because of our gendered social constructs about complimenting, showing affection, fitting into groups, and more. Internet- has a lot o…

Your hate is directed towards the wrong ideology/people. It should be towards right wingers and traditionalists who want to keep men “in their place” as stoic and tough.

Well yeah nobody’s gonna say “I want to restrict women.” The argument is that it’s the “pro lifers” real motive that they don’t admit out loud.

/r/ExRedPill23/07/21 06:47 PM

He's not as famous, therefore not as dangerous. I'd wager at least 50% of straight men/boys aged 16-24 in the US know of Jordan Peterson.

Peterson is pretty much the human embodiment of the redpill. He’s dangerous to society, and it’s concerning he’s as popular as he is.

Redpill is worse because it’s more believable. It was easy for me to shake the blackpill off but the things I’ve read on redpill places i’m worried will always shape my beliefs somewhat. It makes me sad.

It's addicting, it just is. It's hard to say why. I hate it for poisoning my brain (and many other susceptible young men's) but unfortunately I don't think I'll ever truly break out of it's beliefs. I spent too damn long on the board that they did irreversible damage to my psyche I'm afraid.

The SMV thing is so dehumanizing. It goes entirely against my candidate’s (Andrew Yang) slogan- Humanity First. Makes me cringe and unfortunately it seems to be becoming more mainstream/popular to rank people based on attractiveness.

It is. It’s all about “out-manning” (not Peyton or Eli lol) everyone else and trying to be the most alpha guy around, which means often burying unique things about oneself to become that ideal Chad that very few are in actuality.

Unfortunately the large majority of people in our society our like what OP described though: they “see you as less of a man” if you don’t conform to very specific and rigid roles/attitudes. Like Betty Friedan said decades ago, and we did have in the late 60s-70s, I think it’s time we need another “sex role revolution” in America.

It is toxic masculinity and the patriarchy that causes most of the societal men's issues- which are real and are under-discussed in America, I'm not denying that at all.

This is a horror story and sadly I see situations like this becoming more prevalent this decade after the pandemic subsides with young men who have been online during this time who discovered the redpill going back out into the world/dating scene and trying to implement the "alpha male" PUA strategies.

I also see this decade as being regressive. Nobody will admit it- or only a few will- but we're going backwards with sex stereotypes/roles, and the increased acceptance of transgender people, while good for true transsexual adults, is not helping with that. Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Male suicide rates being much higher than female is something not talked about enough. The cause of this, I think, is the culture that tells guys to "be a man" and "pull yourself up by the bootstraps." We have to fix that in this decade; unless there's a big social/political/economic revolution, I see the disparity going up, sadly.

I believe you but I’m worried that’s only older women and/or people in general are becoming less empathetic and we’re actually going backwards when it comes to gender stuff- like girls want more masculine guys than in the past, which is sad for me as a shy autistic man. Related to that, I’m worried I’ll have to “wait my turn” until I’m like 25 at least while women my age are “exploring” (I’m 18). This is maybe why some people crossdress. It's estimated around 10% of adult heterosexual men are crossdressers- and many of them do it pretty realistically and in public occasionally. They're an underrated minority- if you're not one or you don't know one, you're likely unaware they even exist, because usually their "femme personas" are much different than their everyday male selves. It's a fascinating phenomenon that, sadly, I think is dying, in part due to transitioning young people has becom…

The idea that if you’re not masculine enough physically and mentally, whatever relationship you get into will not be genuine and will just be her “settling,” and she’ll always want to cheat on you.

What do you think about the decline of heterosexual crossdressing men and the increase in MTF transsexuals at younger ages? I for one find it sad. I’m very left wing (that’s why I’m on here, duh) teenage guy and have found some very interesting male crossdressers and crossdressing groups/conventions online (never been to one IRL yet) over the years. It’s an underexplored but surprisingly big community, and I’m afraid they’re dying out.

Women idk but there are guys from my high school who I follow on Instagram and/or twitter who I assume have discovered the redpill. These are some “clues” or characteristics: went from being average guy or nerdy to caring a ton about weightlifting and protein does the stock market and investing, talks about finance and getting rich refers to girls/women as hoes, bitches, sluts, etc starts becoming more withdrawn on social media because, they won’t say it, but it’s “building frame” by not posting…

Yes of course. You shouldn’t care what’s considered masculine or not. If someone does, that’s sad. Bullshit gender rules are not set in stone, they were created by men in power to keep women and “low value” men in their place.

No. I don’t care if it promotes fitness; most people/things do. I would’ve known to take care of my body without discovering these places. Nothing about me is improved by the redpill, and many things are worse. It’s completely f***ed my brain.

What do women even find attractive visually? I’m 5’11”, white, and skinny (130 lbs) and can’t get a girl that I’m attracted to. My only standards are don’t be obese and have decent hygiene. I got a scale that says I have a body fat percentage of around 9% but I’m not muscular at all. I’m 5’11” 130 lbs. do you think the scale is inaccurate? Cause women are still not into me and I’ve been this physique for a while. Or do you have to be sub 10% body fat plus muscular? If so then rip. I lifted weights for like 6 months 3x a day in this performance PE class and was still below newbie levels after that (when the pandemic started so the school ended therefore I stopped weightlifting).

What does dial diet in? I feel like my diet is decently healthy- I eat all the food groups at dinner and breakfast + lunch combined, I have dessert twice a week, I have red meat maybe once a week, I drink only water and coffee with skim milk, I have fast food maybe once or twice a month- but it’s not super strict and I don’t want it to be. I got a scale that's supposed to measure body fat % and it says I'm around 9-10% usually. However I kind of doubt it because pictures I've seen online (I know you're not supposed to compare to others but whatever) show guys with that percentage having visible abs, which I'm far from. Where did you go to get your body fat % measured? I've considered doing it at a nearby wellness center but haven't gotten the opportunity plus it's kind of expensive for a college freshman without a job.

IMO redpill is more toxic than blackpill because it at least can be seen in real life when you're in your teens and college so it's much harder to just dismiss and laugh off. The idea is that majority of young straight women want to be dominated by a stoic, ripped, career-driven man who doesn't express his feelings if they're not conventional "man feelings." So you should do whatever you can to achieve that through bodybuilding, having an abundance mentality with women, play the stock market, and get a job that you can move up in and is high paying, even if you don't like it. I'm a straight teen male who almost went down the trans pipeline. Now I am happy being a non-typical man. But I was pretty close to doing it. I feel like widespread support and information about transitioning, while good for some people, kind of encourages gender roles and stereotypes. A lot of boomers and gen x'ers are crossdressers or genderfluid- men who are usually married and successful but have a "femme" alter ego- and comfortable with that lifestyle. An article should be written about the…

I eat two meals a day. Both pretty big. I have every food group in every meal. Chicken is the most common meat I eat. I also eat turkey often. I tend to avoid fried food. Maybe once every two weeks or so. I do admit I eat bread, rice, and pasta a lot, and more often than not the dishes have cheese. But I try to go whole wheat and not have all three in one meal. I also eat beans every day. There’s at least one, probably two, servings of vegetables in every meal. And a whole fruit, always an apple…

The phrase toxic masculinity isn’t “anti-male rhetoric.” It’s actually pro male. Criticizing the restrictions placed on men by society in regards to feelings and expressions.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/20 06:17 PM

At least in the US, expectations for “masculinity” are stricter and the punishment is greater if you don’t fit them than for “femininity” IMO.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/20 10:27 PM

You’re right. I think class is the biggest issue these days though and it’s only getting more polarized between the rich and the poor.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/20 05:10 PM

No. Class is what matters in America. Not race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion. Well they do to some degree but it’s overstated.

Women are generally better leaders than men. There are less dictatorships, less wars, and less discrimination than there were 100 years ago.

Get rid of unrealistic standards of "manliness." Like destigmatize men who wear dresses, men who are emotional, men who aren't ripped, etc. Toxic masculinity I predict will be the second biggest problem in America this decade after climate change.

I personally don’t like TRP and probably never will because it seems to promote the idea that there’s only a very rigid way to “be a man,” which is an unhealthy and sexist view.

Zoomers are either influences/jocks who party every week or outcast autists. The “middle class” of social hierarchy is dying. Edit: why am I being downvoted?

Yeah, no. It’s men who put the patriarchal ideas about gender roles into place and who keep them tied down.

I’m not going to bother with the misogynist redpill crap. I’ve accepted it’s over for me as a balding autistic man. I don’t hate women (I actually consider myself a feminist) or believe in any of the blackpill stuff either. I’ll continue to try to stay healthy and try to make friends but I doubt I’ll ever have a gf, and I’m fine with that. Like OP said, for some guys all the lifting and seduction won’t help.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/20 04:08 AM

No. In fact it’s the opposite. I used to be dumb and think it was. I hope teen boys who unironically think “feminism is cancer” will grow out of it.

Yes that’s true, unfortunately. I say f*** society. I don’t give a damn what others think of me, if I’m not hurting them (which I’m not, by wearing what I want).
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/20 07:04 PM

I’m very happy I’m male. As an autistic introvert, it’s nice that I can walk around wherever whenever and not be bothered. If I were female I’d probably get sexually harassed/catcalled, which would be scary. So yes, I would hate being the opposite sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/20 06:15 PM

My autism is high functioning but still noticeable I’d say. I’m fine with dating any girl around my age who takes care of herself (isn’t obese and has good hygiene). I shower every day, brush my teeth twice a day, use deodorant, stay clean shaven, use acne wash, wear clean clothes every day and change clothes for exercising. I’d like to think I have average hygiene/grooming. I’ll admit I’m guilty of not caring about my hair. It’s a curly, receding, mess.

I think it’s probably like 90%. But I find their referring to people as plates to be revolting. The redpill, quite frankly, is a misogynist cult. I don’t care that they get laid more than me and most guys. Most of them seem like awful humans.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 02:56 AM

I’m a guy and I’ll admit I am not attracted to obese girls and/or girls with noticeably bad hygiene.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 01:13 AM
1

I have tried but it’s clear they aren’t interested. The only ones who are are the ones I’m not attracted to (which is only like 5%). IMO teens are more judgmental than adults and are more likely to expect you to conform to gender stereotypes (which I don’t at all). For clarity, I’m not bitter about this. I understand that I’m not entitled to a relationship and that people should have freedom to say no. I don’t blame anyone but myself and society/patriarchy in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/03/20 06:40 PM
1

I’m very proud of having autism so “hiding it” is out of the question. I’m comfortable with myself and don’t feel any shame. I feel bad about this but I feel no attraction towards obese people whatsoever. Somewhat fat people, yes. My standards are pretty low. I know it’s shallow (to rule out some people just because of their body shapes) but I can’t control it.

You’re right. My style is admittedly pretty bad. Because I prefer “women’s” clothes, but I still try to be taken seriously as a guy, I just wear boring cheap men’s clothes from Target and Kohl’s. As far as exercise goes, I lift weights 3x a week and jog a few miles every day. My hair, unfortunately, is already heavily receding at 17. One of My great grandpas, who that’s where you supposedly get your hair loss genes from, was completely bald by 30.

I mumble a lot my parents say. I used to attend social skills groups but these days I go to one on one therapy. I have to admit I’m lazy though when it comes to trying to improve conversation skills. I usually just don’t talk to people- i spend lunch in the bathroom or library, sit alone on buses, am always the last one picked for groups (if I’m picked). I have no desire to get into drugs and/or alcohol. I already have things that give me “pleasure”- vidya, crossdressing, music, etc.

If most girls actually think that way- that "submissive" men aren't real men- then I don't think I'd want to be in a relationship. That sounds like internalized misogyny.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/20 03:10 PM

I'm only 17 and have never been in a relationship but I would think that straight girls might freak out because they don't want to get HIV/AIDS (which is a homophobic assumption to think all men who have had sexual experience with other men have it).

That sounds like a misandrist group. Just like how some men’s rights groups become misogynistic, some feminism groups and circles are bound to become misandrist. That doesn’t mean the movement of feminism is based on and fights for equality of sexes. Not female supremacy. Feminists are our allies.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/19 09:41 PM

This is because of the men in power though. Men spend so much time tripping each other up in efforts to be more “dominant” and “masculine.” Feminism isn’t to blame for the current state of males, patriarchy is.
